Ramy Youssef is an Egyptian-American comedian, actor and director. He co-starred in Yorgos Lanthimos's POOR THINGS alongside Emma Stone and Willem Dafoe which won the Golden Lion at the 80th Venice International Film Festival. The film received acclaim from critics and was named one of the top 10 films of 2023 by the American Film Institute and the National Board of Review.
Ramy created, executive produced, and starred in the hit Hulu show RAMY, which is inspired by his own experiences and centers around a first-generation Egyptian-American Muslim on a spiritual journey in his politically divided New Jersey neighborhood.
Ramy won a Golden Globe Award for 'Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Comedy and was nominated for two 2020 Emmy Awards in the categories of "Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series" and "Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series." Additionally, RAMY won a 2020 Peabody Award and was nominated for a 2019 Gotham Award for 'Best Breakthrough Series.' This past year, Ramy was again Emmy nominated for his directorial work on THE BEAR. Rami was great! He drew material from current events as well as his personal experiences!
Ramy delivered great anecdotes and crowd play. One of the only improvements I would have liked to see would have been offering merch. Even just a mini-poster for the tour would have been great.
He is absolutely amazing. Does such a wonderful job of balancing and transitioning between serious and funny. love him
Ramy did a great job entertaining, and feeling out the vibes of the crowd. He had some good material and seems like a humble guy. Brother, too much about that adoption lol! I’d go back to see him! Thanks for bring out our hometown hero Mo Amer too! Lots of success to you bro!
Ramy truly exceeded my expectations! From watching his shows to his hilarious standup on Netflix, I was eagerly anticipating seeing him in person. Ramy was incredibly personal and interactive with the audience. (I’m a it’s still there person, haha!)
Ramy Youssef's comedy show is nothing short of phenomenal. He didn’t just tell jokes. He invited us into his world, navigating identity, faith, family, and awkward moments with such realness and humor. If he comes back to Boston, I’ll definitely book my ticket to see him again.
Would watch again. Found social commentary thoughtful and unique. Jokes were funny.
Ramy was awesome. You felt that he was up there as an individual and that this wasn't a canned act. Him bringing Steve was awesome too. Had a great night, and seeing other persons experiences and views opens your eyes.
I thought he was a fantastic storyteller. He did not jump from joke to joke, but instead told long stories in which he shared both funny and meaningful life experiences. Going to Egypt for his wedding, rescuing a dog in San Diego, then helping his dog get treatment for cancer. The juxtaposition of his dog's health care being paid for with pet health insurance and then his friend Steve struggling to get his wheelchair paid for through Medicaid showed what an empath Ramy is. I loved it when he asked the audience how much they paid for the tickets
Ramy takes you on a ride from laugh to laugh rather than making it feel like it is just a bunch of one liners. Prepare yourself for the funny!
Loved his MAX/HBO. I am a fan of his show and respect his friendship with Steve Wray. I keep hoping there will be another season of his show. Couple of cliffhangers still hanging. Hope he will do some Philly or New York shows. I’m a Jewish guy and loved your J girl jokes.
Ramy was hilarious!! So fun to watch. Very cool and down to earth. Had his best friends opening for him and used their jokes to put in his jokes. The whole show was so wholesome and funny and light. It was packed too!!
It’s nice to have some comic relief when it comes to current events and the immigrant experience. We need more of that! Very genuine and hilarious!
Ramy was terrific! His material and standup are fantastic. I highly recommend seeing him live.
Ramy is the best! Free Palestine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ramy's set was incredible. He really was able to bring contemporary issues to the forefront in an honorable way and still make the audience laugh. I think it really shows someones skill set to be able to make people laugh without offending or disregarding what is currently happening is world history. I absolutely love his comedy and what he stands for; would love to see him again.
Loved the performance! This was a great experience!
A tough but incredible evening, so thankful Ramy had it in him to come out honest and sensitive what is happening in the world right now. We all needed those laughs and giggles, his storytelling is a gift that we all got to enjoy Friday night. Again, thank you.
I respect Ramy’s work and artists who shed light on other cultures, religions, and upbringings. In most cases it unites us in common immigrant family tropes. If I can laugh while finding common ground with people I don’t have in my immediate circles, I think that’s a win for humanity. We can share in struggle and laugh at our parents while still being in awe of their accomplishments. All in all, the world is a whole mess, so spend some time laughing with others even for brief moments. Laughter and love are too grand to surrender.
Ramy did such an amazing job. His delivery was perfectly timed. Jokes had the whole room laughing endlessly. His shows make you feel like you’re hanging out with a funny friend.
