Best Rahat Concert in a decade

by Imran on 5/15/23NOW Arena - Hoffman Estates

I’ve been to a few Rahat concerts over the years, they have been pretty good overall. This time I decided to go because of such a long break from Covid, just wanted to go out and see anybody who was coming to Chicago. I have to say I was totally blown away by the performance that Rahat and his team put up. The official start time was 8:30 PM, rahat was on stage singing at 8:45 PM. I have never experienced this type of punctuality in a desi concert before. He sang Bollywood style songs for about an hour and a half, then took a 20 minute break, and came back to sing qawallis for another hour and a half or so. The sound, the lighting, and the background affects added to the amazing vocals of Rahat, and the world class orchestra that accompanied him. Overall, I had high expectations going in, but this time rahat raised the bar even more.

    Disappointing !

    by Sej on 5/12/23

The music was too loud in the first half. The laser/light effect is better suited to a rock concert not a Sufi concert. All his popular, romantic, melodious songs were crunched in a short medley. Wish he had sung those rather than the ragaas. Cake cutting for his son's birthday - colossal waste of time ! We did not come for that ! I saw his performance over a decade ago, that was true singing unlike this hooplah they created !

    poor - not worth it

by shayer on 5/8/23The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National Harbor

Voice not sufficiently audible over instruments. First half only pakistani pop - not so great. Second half qawallis - tolerable.

    Excellent

Every thing was great. Hall is very good. I think drink alcohol inside the should be restricted. Outside the hall(Bar area) is absolutely fine but not inside.

    The show was lit!

by Zee on 5/8/23The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National Harbor

The show itself was excellent. However, i was not allowed to take picture on my personal phone? I guess that’s fine. Pictures were taken with their own camera and i should have gotten the pictures which still after three days, I haven’t seen on their page or in my inbox

Lack of time management - Disappointing!

by TK on 5/7/23The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

The show started an hour late with an assertion that time will be made up later, but unsurprisingly it ended on time. The sound from drummer and main vocalist required constant adjustment. Overall, unsatisfactory experience.

Sound System not good. Very loud music

by Pratap Chordia on 5/4/23The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

Felt like a rock concert. Also they do fireworks or something in the concert, causing some smoke and pollution .Did not start on time concert hall it got smoky not good for breathing. Concert did not start on time. M C was not good.No body announced why there was delay.Parking was ok, but took almost 30 minutes to come out of the tower parking lot. Toyota music factory hall is not great for concerts, seating is flat on the floors, there is no gradual elevation of the floor, so if some body is tall in front of you, you cant see the stage. IN general it was ok

Very enjoyable concert starring RFAK band

by Rdg on 5/3/23The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

What was most welcoming was the fusion style band where East meets West Qawwali music.

Awesome artist brought to USA by a badly organized enteteam

by Pradeep on 5/3/23The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

Show started late at 9pm with a one hour delay, the organizers kept saying the show will go on till the audience wants it. They took a 15 minute break at 1030pm and when it started again at 1045pm, the show ended at 1110pm because the venue did not allow it to go beyond 11pm. Honestly the organizers should refund half the ticket cost. Full blame on the Organizers!!!

    He’s incredible BUT..

by AJ on 5/3/23The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

The venue was great. Audio and visuals were fantastic. However, he was an hour late to start, his mid-show break ran 4x as long as it should have (40mins vs. 10 mins, and then he very very abruptly ended the concert. His talent is undeniable but c’mon…

Lovely melody but too loud, lots of delays, and less songs

by Fan on 5/3/23The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

The sound level was not suitable for maestro’s high pitch.. it was too loud and words were often not clear. That was a big disappointment. There were weird delays for the program to start and during breaks. And overall a short ensemble not covering all songs one would have liked to hear. Felt like no respect for peoples time. Conversation and song assembly was more focused on Pakistani audience but there were a fair degree of Indians as well.

    Poor show !

by RahatFan on 5/3/23The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

Over 45 mins late start, mic problems, extremely loud - music literally became noise ! Left with ears hurting. Over all very poor event organization and no leadership to act on customer feedback !

    Outstanding

    by Sam on 4/30/23

The music maestro himself delivered in his performance in Greensboro, NC. The show started about an hour late but he made up for it with his artistry. Highly recommend 10/10!

    Great time with the legend!

by Hassan on 10/25/19EagleBank Arena - Fairfax

Mr Rahat Faeh Ali Khan is a treat to listen to and the fusion style brought to this performance was fantastic and much welcomed! The thing I did not like was the way the screens in the back kept showing his face going left and right really fast with his singing. It did not match the pedigree of the show and was extremely distracting and did not fit the theme! No need for constant back and forth of Mr. RFAKs face twitching back and forth on the screen, it took away from the art of his work. In addition, I wished the camera was panned and focused on each of the instrument players as well. They all played a role in making the evening great and should have been focused on as well.
