About

Born somewhere in the Arizona desert, Puscifer is an electro-rock band, multimedia experience, traveling circus, and alien abduction survivors. The group's catalog consists of four full-length studio albums: "V" is for Vagina [2007], Conditions of My Parole [2011], Money Shot [2015], and Existential Reckoning (2020) - in addition to a series of EPs and remixes. Beyond the core trio of Maynard James Keenan [vocals], Mat Mitchell [guitar, production], and Carina Round [vocals, songwriting], the group's ever-evolving ecosystem encompasses Greg Edwards (bass, guitar, keys), Gunnar Olsen (drums), as well as a cast of characters such as Billy D and his wife Hildy Berger, Major Douche, Special Agent Dick Merkin, and many more. Meanwhile, the moniker's origins can be traced to a 1995 episode of the HBO classic Mr. Show where Keenan first used the name "Puscifer." In addition to tallying tens of millions of streams and views, they've piqued the curiosity of the press. Entertainment Weekly christened them, "Exceptionally groovy," and Revolver fittingly described them as "indescribable." Renowned for an immersive live show, the group's performances blur the lines between concert and theater, traversing the dusty American Southwest with Billy D and Hildy or the sweaty squared circle with Luchadores. They've brought their unique live experience to life  everywhere from Coachella to Bonnaroo. On their 2020 debut for Alchemy Recordings/Puscifer Entertainment/BMG entitled Existential Reckoning, Puscifer track Billy D back to the desert and, just maybe, uncover the truth about aliens once and for all.

Previously, Puscifer has sold out venues to capacity, like Warner Theatre and Old National Centre.

Puscifer put on a great show.

    by Confucius78 on 11/16/11State Theatre - Minneapolis

Puscifers show at the State Theater in Minneapolis was an awesome time. I have now completed the Tool/A Perfect Circle/Puscifer trifecta and I must say Puscifer was every bit as good as Tool and A Perfect Circle.

Eh, take it or leave it

by Fostenhiemer on 11/16/11State Theatre - Minneapolis

I was speaking with my wife before the show over a nice smokey porter and we realized that this was probably my 20 or 21st time seeing maynard over the years either with tool going back to 1994 all the way to the other day when I saw him with puscifer. This was my second time seeing puscifer and the show was fine. The sound was great, the venue was intimate, I really cant complain other than it felt a little mailed in. VIP wine tasting with bonus sound check songs, really maynard?

    Pusicfer profoundly penetrates people's pose

by Collygreens on 11/16/11State Theatre - Minneapolis

The show was great, what can I say. Maynard and Carina are a sweet and soft paring. It is too bad that we have to go through the same ol, same ol in searching for people with smartphones, and kicking them out for taking video however. I consider myself to be in tune with what the band is expecting from us, the spectator. The show you are going to see is for you, and the band, and the intimate moment between the two of you. Besides, the cellphone recordings look and sound like total crap, and artists are probably insulted that it is being shown in that medium. Obvioulsy Maynard James Keenan is a bit more particular than most on this topic and he is contanly mocking those who pirate his crative being. I like to see him take his phone out during a song and record bandmates during the performance, its just another part of the show for him. But I'm sure it affects him aswell. At any rate, the show was murky, mellcholy, peaceful, bright, and gritty at times, all in a good way of course. There was alot of emotion in every moment of the show from all facets. And of course the guy has a humor bone that is grossy under-estimated and under-appreciated. But those memories are mine, and mine forever. I don't need a recording that i can't see or hear well, my eyes took it all in. I didn't need to worry about being removed from my seat. I was made comfortable by the band, and took it all in. I'm glad I was able to attend.

    Puscifer is a religious experience

by Phisher on 11/16/11State Theatre - Minneapolis

By far the best ever!! I have never seen a show more fulfilling and emotional. Maynard hit home with every word spoken at the show . Carina Round needs to stay with Maynard.....no one can mimic that man the way this goddess can. I may not be able to see a show again because of the effect of this show........ALL HAIL MAYNARD

    Puscifer - Minneapolis State Theater

by cyndeeme on 11/16/11State Theatre - Minneapolis

The show was awesome. The music is mind blowing. So complex and beautiful. Add that with the visual effects and it makes for a wonderful show. Menard and Carina were practically perfect in their performance. Menard does stand back in the shadows almost the whole time, so don't expect too much action on stage. But the show is definately the music itself and it's amazing.

    There is only one Puscifer

    by Crux8 on 11/16/11State Theatre - Minneapolis

One of the most unique and interesting bands I've ever seen, Puscifer is as much art as it is incredible music. Nothing that Maynard has done on stage has ever been boring, and his current tour with Puscifer was fantastic.

    Very Intimate

by Illyana on 11/16/11State Theatre - Minneapolis

Puscifer, unlike Maynard's other two bigger-name bands, is a very intimate show. It's almost like watching the guys perform when they're playing around and practicing, but with the full effects of a concert. There's interaction, plots and just an enjoyable show. I would recommend Puscifer's show to anyone who wants the more personal side of Maynard; but make sure you're aware of the band, it's not like seeing Tool or APC.

    Redefining the live show experience

by TheRealBillyDee on 11/16/11State Theatre - Minneapolis

Aside from the fact that I sat in front of the real life Billy Dee and Hildy, had wine spilled down my back and had the constant fear of being vomited on, I would say this was one of the best shows I've ever seen. I was one of the few who actually understood what Puscifer was doing with the last tour and the whole country interpretation and I thought it was brilliant. That being said, I'm glad it was not repeated this tour. Instead, they took their incredible new record and reproduced it with incredible accuracy. Couple cons - the sound mix wasn't the best. Perhaps it was the acoustics of the venue? It didn't hurt my overall experience and I realize I'm a bit of an audiophile so it's a minor complaint. Second, again referring to the inbred couple sitting behind me - they were very obviously over served by the bar staff. All in all, Puscifer is redefining the principle of the truly indie band. They may not have all the accoutrements of a fully-backed group, but what they lack in bells 'n whistles they make up for in providing a very intimate live experience.

Great show, great sound. Thank you Puscifer! They played almost everything I wanted, including Rev and Polar Bear. The new material is simply fantastic and Carina did a great job.

Puscifer was an amazing show. Sound was great. Maynard and Carina's voices blend so beautifully. Did not sit down the entire show. Nice mix of old and new.

In comparison to Tool, which is analogous to a tempestuous spiritual event, the show is far more intellectual and contemplative. So, if you came to rage, don't get bent out of shape, rejecting the moment as it is. The professionalism is at the pinnacle of the industry, and Carina Round is the devil's angel. Prepare to be mesmerized and likely reprogramed. Puscifer is an elaborate journey into Maynard's misfit subconscious of twisted humor and dark recognitions. Enter at your own risk!

Puscifer and Carina Round were amazing

by Blazer9903 on 11/15/11Peabody Opera House - St. Louis

Carina Round opened with her solo performance. She is amazing. This is the first show I've been to in years where I enjoyed the opening act as much as the headliner. She then came back out to perform with Puscifer, which I expected, as she does a lot of work on their albums. Essentially doing a double-set, she performed outstandingly well and if she was exhausted, she never showed it. To my knowledge, this is the first time Puscifer has come to St. Louis. I had been waiting since the release of their first album to see them live, and they did not disappoint. The Peabody Opera House was a perfect venue for this band. Their show was laid back and relaxed, intentionally. They did an outstanding job of making the audience feel like part of the show. The set was even setup by the musicians themselves. They did an excellent job of making the show feel like everyone was just sitting around a campfire enjoying several bottles of wine.

Music seemed much heavier live, which I really enjoyed. The really rocked the place! The Peabody is very nice as well. Not a bad seat in the house!

Everything Maynard does is great! The music is just as good as A Perfect Circle and Tool.
