Wow, for the price of one reasonable ticket, we got to see three bands and enjoyed over three hours of great music. Firefall was up first. I kept saying, "I didn't know they did this song!" I couldn't believe the amazing sounds coming from just three instruments on stage. Wonderful! Pure Prairie League was next. They played a full set. Their energy and musicianship was incredible. What pros--totally enjoyed. The bands were so cool to meet the audience in the lobby after their sets--class acts! Poco was last. They seemed so talented, but had tech problems that weren't their fault. We could only stay for a couple of songs because we had an early day the next morning and live an hour away. I hope they got the problems figured out--they seemed like great guys and we hated to leave. They venue is in a nice location. Lots of good restaurants close by. If you want to eat at Martinellis--make reservations. Everywhere else you can just walk in.
All 3 bands were great, but I would have to say that Firefall was my favorite!!
rock-on really glad the old bands of this quality are come out to share...
Listened to this band for 40 years...original recordings lacked quality but they sounded great in person. Recommended.
First of all they didn't have the whole band but they were still very good sang old and new songs. First time at bethelwoods for a indoor show can't wait for a outdoor show hear its very good. After show they came right out for pictures and autographs
The music was good. the show was fun. But way too short. they were on for about an hour, the came back for two songs. Should have had an opening band.
Recently saw Pure Prairie League at the Bethel Woods Museum. Great show - was a fabulous walk down memoray lane. The inside space at the Bethel Woods Museum is a beautiful venue. No bad seats, great acoustics in a gorgeous setting
these guys were great. the atmosphere at bethel woods in the event gallery really made this show amazing
The harmony was great. Brought me back to my college days. Venue was fabulous! Can't wait to go back to Bethel Woods and can't want to see Pure Prairie League again soon!
The guys were amazing. The acoustics were incredible and the venue was truely remarkable. This acoustic set was really unique and fun.
FF opened and were great as a trio, very talented. Jock Bartley makes it a guitar show at times, great show, nice harmonies. A crowd pleasing performance, the band did a great job. The band and it's fans got chumped with a 30 minute set. I'd see FF again although I was never a big FF fan and really didn't think of them as country rock. PPL was the top act at The Country Rock Legends show with a stunning set of music that was as hot as any country rock show I've been to in too many years. PPL is high octane +, and these guys play for keeps. No fillers, just one rip roaring tune after another. Excellent musicians, each one has their moments whether it's on lead vocals, or some dazzling lead guitar or the best pedal steel you will ever hear (J.Call is SUPER ! ). The lead guitarist, Donnie Clark and Call really have something special happening , MAJOR talents ! These guys rocked and have a very diverse set which also features bass player Mike Reilly, their longtime leader and drummer Rick Schell, both superb singers and musicians. Gotta love it ! Unfortunately, the show was ridiculously short ! After about 45 PPL was done, leaving many fans shocked and disappointed. These guys should have closed out the night. I was so impressed with them I decided to head to NY two nights later with a large contingent of friends from this show to catch PPL by themselves. That was a smart move on our part as they killed it there in the type of show I expected to see at Legends, a show where they were given the time they deserve and played about 20 songs.See these guys if you get a chance but not at this type of thing, catch them where they are given the time they and their fans deserve. Poco closed and the talent level and performance fell notches below FF and PPL. Their new style of music is a bit uneven , solos with not much firepower, harmonies just OK. I'll leave it at that. After the rousing FF and PPL sets, the air leaked out of the balloon. I'll steer clear of these Legends nights unless a big change is made. This venue won't get the same crowd again if a change isn't made as there were huge amounts of FF and PPL fans in the audience who deserved far more than given.
Totally loved the experience. Celebrated my mom's 75th birthday by taking her and my sister to the event. Mom wanted to see McGuffey Lane. Of the 5 performing groups, Exile was excellent with McGuffey Lane coming in a close second. Had never heard Chris Logsdon. Really enjoyed him too. For only $10 per ticket I was surprised more weren't in attendance. The park and the weather were awesome. I sure hope more events like this are planned for the future!
Great show, Exile was EXCELLENT! Please bring them back again!
What a great night of music!! These guys were unbelievable, full of energy, a fiery red hot performance which thrilled a very enthusiastic audience. They played a terrific set, filled with a variety of styles, but overall a very uptempo, extremely tight band. The pedal steel player, John Call, an original member, was phenomenal, the best steel I've ever heard, and I've heard many. The lead guitarist Donnie Clark also blew the crowd away and his interaction with the steel was incredible.Excellent harmonies with three gifted lead singers as Mike Reilly and Rick Schell also took their turns. There wasn't a single down moment in the show, a very versatile group. The band started out on fire and it kept burning right through their two encores. They played 20 songs, and the crowd knew every one, roaring and applauding many times, even in the middle of songs after a superb steel or guitar lick. By the way, another reviewer thought it was too short. The venue allocated them a certain amount of time, and PPL exceeded it. BB KIngs staff really worked hard at clearing the crowd out as it ended but fans were still hanging, talking about what a great show it was.The band hung out, signed things, very friendly group. I've seen many from this genre over the past few years, this was the easily the best. I'll definitely see these guys again, hopefully in NY but I'm willing to travel a bit for it, something I rarely do too much anymore, but it's worth it !
This was my fourth live show with the band. They're always fun and involve the audience. They pulled out some real oldies for this appearance and included some new songs from their most recent CD (All In Good Time). It's great when the entire audience sings along. After the show, the band members come out to greet the audience while selling CDs and other items (25% of the proceeds go towards The Austism Foundation). The band genuinely enjoys what they do and the audience gets pulled along for the ride. Their new material is as great as the old. ENJOY! Hope they continue to return to NY!! I would however probably not return to this venue. Although the seats are good throughout the room, the acoustics are not ideal. The club also has screens for the back of the room. The picture is of poor quality. The service was great, but the food was average. It was also a drag that they were collecting payment during the band's encore.
Music was good, but felt that the show was too short. Could have played alot longer. Nice venue, not too crowded.
All three bands were great! Excellent venue! I would recommend any of the three bands.
The sound for Pure Prairie League was great. I was a little disappointed at the sound engineers performance during the Poco set. I felt bad for Rusty Young who kept having feedback problems with the stage monitors. The venue is great. Nice job on the theater.
Pure Prairie League was a lot of fun. Firefall was OUTSTANDING!! I don't know what happened to Poco but that act came up FLAT
