About

Alternative rockers Puddle of Mudd have earned an army of dedicated fans with a slew of No. 1 hits like "Blurry," "She Hates Me" and "Away from Me," Most fans who are lucky enough to get a ticket to a Puddle of Mudd concert find that the lead singer-guitarist, Wesley Scantlin, has a commanding stage presence and a powerful voice. Though the band has not released an album since 2011, Puddle of Mudd continues to tour, singing its most popular hits to die-hard, dedicated fans.

The band's roots are in Kansas City, Missouri, where they began playing together in 1991. However, their first studio album, Abrasive, was not released until 1997. This album was so limited in its release, though, that many of the songs were re-released on the next album, 2001's Come Clean. Popular singles from this album included "Control," "She Hates Me," "Blurry" and "Drift & Die," which helped Come Clean sell over five million copies and reach No. 9 on the Billboard 200 chart. Their next album was 2003's Life on Display, which reached No. 20 on the Billboard 200 and featured the hits "Away from Me," "Spin You Around" and "Heel Over Head." The 2006 follow-up, Famous, includes hit singles Psycho and the title track. In 2009, Puddle of Mudd released Volume 4: Songs in the Key of Love and Hate, an album that featured songs "Stoned" and "Spaceship". In 2011, the band members released a cover album, Re:(disc)overed, and also announced that they were continuing to write more original songs to release in a future album.

    A disappointing evening

by Stevie the C on 10/2/22Sony Hall - New York

Although Puddle was not part of my core music listening list during their prime, I gave their music a try a couple of years ago. I found that really enjoyed their songs. The lyrics and Melodie’s are great. When I looked into seeing them perform I saw they were playing mostly bar venues - which was surprising. I found out why during the performance in NYC last week. The lead singer had totally lost his vocal range - which ruined the show. It wasn’t until I wiki’d them the next day that I learned that at one point they had been booed off the stage for lip synching - because his voice was shot - Should have done more homework before my purchase

Walked off stage twice because of sound and never showed up for sound check. Hard earned money down the drain. Never gonna pay to see them again!!

    Puddle of What?

by Visitor on 9/19/22Elevation 27 - Virginia Beach

Venue was pretty chill. The opening act was decent and had a little technical difficulties. Then when Puddle of Mudd came on, they started okay, complained about technical difficulties, jogged off the stage after what seemed to be 6 songs, came out and lip synced then apologized for the difficulties and left. What a weird concert

    Not worth going atElevation 27

by Billy on 9/19/22Elevation 27 - Virginia Beach

The show was barely 50 min with the band leaving the stage in frustration over the sound once, coming back for 2 songs and leaving again. Don't know who is to blame, the band or venue, but the fans got the short end of the stick.

    Sound system needs help.

by egordoniv on 9/19/22Elevation 27 - Virginia Beach

The band was great. Vocals cut out mid-way through the show. The engineer in charge of the sound disappeared and left a kid there to handle it, but the kid did not know how to handle it. The band got pissed and left.

    Venue outdid the performers

    by Bubba13 on 6/14/22XL Live - Harrisburg

XL LIVE was a nice venue. Plenty of parking, very roomy with plenty of seating, a nice pit area in front of the stage and the patio was a clever idea for a nightclub/bar. 3 bars so there were no lines for drinks. As for the entertainment the first 2 bands were ok at best...Blind Choice and Observe the 93rd. Puddle of Mudd could of been better. The lead singers voice was struggling and between songs they tuned their instruments like it was their first show. I've seen Puddle of Mudd 3 times and this was their worst performance. Don't need to see them anymore.

    Cargo Hall, Reno

    by M. K. on 5/15/22

Stellar show! I think they played about 1-1/2 hours with one encore with two other bands opening. Sounded like their records; crisp, clean, professional performance. Definitely delivered! Although underrated, Wesley Stantlin rocks! His vocals are incredible.

    Technical mess

by TrumplicanPatriot on 5/15/22Gila River Resorts & Casinos - Wild Horse Pass - Chandler

I've seen POM regularly since early 2000's, always great. But this one was a disaster. Nothing but stalling by all guitarists by playing random chords and drum licks, trying to get their guitars in tune, change battery packs, between most songs. Where we were sitting in the first few rows on the side, you couldn't even hear the lead guitar licks, and I could barely hear Wes singing, because he kept pulling away from the mic with every accent. They didn't play a single track from the Galvania album, so all we heard was a rehash of their oldest stuff. Might be the last time I see them for awhile, if this act doesn't get it together. Really disappointing.

Puddle of Mudd at Gila River

by Andrew on 5/10/22Gila River Resorts & Casinos - Wild Horse Pass - Chandler

For the first time I saw how tough it was to get up on stage to be a rock star.. It was unfortunate that the lead singer was obviously sick and that he really struggled throughout the set. Most of the songs were good but the singer was under the weather and his vocals were strained throughout the performance. Thanks for putting on the show and hoperfully Wes will be feeling better the next time he rolls into Phoenix..

Slipped in a Puddle of Mudd...

by Rad Rocker on 5/9/22Gila River Resorts & Casinos - Wild Horse Pass - Chandler

Well this show didn't go very well. First off guitar issue #1, didn't get there in time so a 20-minute late start. Guitar issue #2 kept trying to restring it or fix it took up a lot of time. Complained about how small the venue was compared to what they used to play at. Didn't sound that great, didn't throw the drum sticks into the audience and no Encore give me a break!!!

    Band was late

by Get Kraken on 5/9/22Gila River Resorts & Casinos - Wild Horse Pass - Chandler

The band was late and they kept stopping so he could tune his guitar. The show fell flat.
