About

Alternative rockers Puddle of Mudd have earned an army of dedicated fans with a slew of No. 1 hits like "Blurry," "She Hates Me" and "Away from Me," Most fans who are lucky enough to get a ticket to a Puddle of Mudd concert find that the lead singer-guitarist, Wesley Scantlin, has a commanding stage presence and a powerful voice. Though the band has not released an album since 2011, Puddle of Mudd continues to tour, singing its most popular hits to die-hard, dedicated fans.

The band's roots are in Kansas City, Missouri, where they began playing together in 1991. However, their first studio album, Abrasive, was not released until 1997. This album was so limited in its release, though, that many of the songs were re-released on the next album, 2001's Come Clean. Popular singles from this album included "Control," "She Hates Me," "Blurry" and "Drift & Die," which helped Come Clean sell over five million copies and reach No. 9 on the Billboard 200 chart. Their next album was 2003's Life on Display, which reached No. 20 on the Billboard 200 and featured the hits "Away from Me," "Spin You Around" and "Heel Over Head." The 2006 follow-up, Famous, includes hit singles Psycho and the title track. In 2009, Puddle of Mudd released Volume 4: Songs in the Key of Love and Hate, an album that featured songs "Stoned" and "Spaceship". In 2011, the band members released a cover album, Re:(disc)overed, and also announced that they were continuing to write more original songs to release in a future album.

    No power

by Dan on 6/6/23XL Live - Harrisburg

Power went out after opening acts first song. In the following 75 minutes without power some dude did some drum solos. The opening act tried to do some covers through what appeared to be a toddler bullhorn that wasn't very loud, and Was came out and lead us all in a sing-along of She Fucking Hates Me. Finally, they said they weren't doing the show and we left to see a movie. Was a cool experience, but the venue never marked the event as cancelled so I can't get a refund.

    Not bad but not great

by Tommy knuckles on 10/13/22Morongo Casino Resort and Spa - Cabazon

Puddle of mudd is one of my favorite bands. I was so stoked to be able to hear and see the live , but the venue itself was very small . Which is good in theory but not very practical for a hard rock band. You really couldn’t hear much of singing going on over the instrument’s themselves. However the songs we could hear were awesome they put on an awesome show. Just wish we could have heard more. No regrets though glad we went.

    Playing in the Mudd puddle

by Muddy on 10/12/22Morongo Casino Resort and Spa - Cabazon

Was looking forward to see this band and it was my first time at Morongo. The song line up was as expected and they played all their top rated songs. The nuts and bolts… The sound system was subpar. The mixer missed the mark. The drums were so loud it was difficult to hear the base guitar and the lead singers vocals. The band instruments needed to be toned down. It isn’t always necessary in such a small venue to blast the audience. The venue…. The seats were comfortable, but it’s flat seating. For such a large hotel, I expected to see the concert in a tiered/elevated venue. When we arrived, a seating attendant escorted us to our seats. Three quarters through the concert we were surprised when other attendees told us we were sitting in their seats. Sure enough they were correct. The attendants resolved the problem and put them in better seats. Overall grade is a -C-

    Blast from the Past

by Guido on 10/11/22Morongo Casino Resort and Spa - Cabazon

Started off great! Opening song fantastic, the sound was off a little. We couldn’t hear the singer for most of the concert. Drift and die was great, a few more from the first album also. Finally had the crowd on its feet with “She F’n Hates Me” singing the song. And of course Blurry was the finally, the lights came on for some reason but the band kept playing! Good for them! They played two more songs including a mash up of Ozzy’s War Pigs that everyone sang with. The lights went off and when Puddle of Mud finished the lights came back on. They played for about an hour and twenty minutes which was fine. Fix the microphone issue and leave the lights off until they stop. It was good rock and roll and I’m glad that I saw them.

Puddle of Mudd Rocked Sony Hall!

by Just a fan on 10/2/22Sony Hall - New York

I first saw Puddle of Mudd probably 15 years ago at the old Fillmore East and have been a fan for even longer. The recent show at Sony Hall was a vintage performance and the band sounded great! Wes’ vocals were absolutely true and the set list hit pretty much every high point. Never understood why these guys don’t get more love and would definitely see them again anytime they’re in the NYC metro area. They rock hard, sound great, and I love the song writing. Wes - Gotta play Time Flies live. One of my all time favorite songs!
