About "Horizons"

World-renowned physicist Professor Brian Cox brings his immersive live experience, "Horizons: A 21st Century Space Odyssey," to North America.

"Horizons" takes us on a dazzling cinematic journey. A story of how we came to be and what we can become.

The deepest of questions will be explored using the latest advances in our understanding of quantum theory, black holes, biology, planetary science, astronomy and cosmology. Using state-of-the-art LED screen technology, venues will be filled with images of far-away galaxies, alien worlds, supermassive black holes and a time before the Big Bang.

"Horizons" is a celebration of our civilization, of our music, art, philosophy and science; an optimistic vision of our future if we continue to explore Nature with humility and to value ourselves and our fellow human beings. Brian will once again be joined by co-host of The Infinite Monkey Cage and award-winning comedian Robin Ince, perhaps the only collection of sentient atoms in the observable Universe capable of overseeing a Q&A with an audience of 10,000 people while wearing an old cardigan.

Although the program started about 30 minutes late, Professor Cox did not disappoint in the quality of the presentation.

    Star-struck

by Larin on 6/9/22Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Dr. Cox is a great disseminator of very complex subjects, and his show/lecture delivered. Just a great experience being able to see him in person, not just on TV. 1000 thumbs up.

    Brian Cox

by Mara on 6/7/22Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Brian Cox is always managing to translate the science language to a most common one, I understand and appreciate science in a very different way, after listening to him. Love his humour, too. Great lecture/ show, I recommend it!!!

    Horizons

by M on 6/7/22Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Was super excited about this, thinking it would be a cool, interactive show. However, as someone who doesn’t know a lot about science it was incredibly dry and difficult to follow. Felt really bad for the kids in the audience!

    Excellent presentation. Fun science.

by KRAL on 6/6/22Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

In a fun, humours and artistic presentation Professor Cox described the origins of our present understanding of cosmology and how it pertains to the study of black holes and how investigating black holes may unlock a deeper understanding of physics.

    Mind expanding.

by Brent C on 6/6/22Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Professor Brian Cox is able to present complex astrophysical material in a way that is both hugely entertaining and mind blowing. A tremendous evening and if he ever returns to Edmonton I will most certainly see him again.

    Wonderful!

by Eggsterb on 5/17/22Pantages Theatre - Minneapolis

Got these tix for my physics-loving husband. There was enough science-gravitas for him. And it was entertaining and engaging for me! We’ll be looking for Prof Cox’s tour dates and hope to catch him again!

    Inspiring and engaging

by TZfam on 5/17/22Pantages Theatre - Minneapolis

My 11-year old son and I went together and loved every minute! We learned so much and left feeling inspired and wanting to share what we had learned. He was able to share with his classmates about quantum entanglement because of this talk. The visuals and soundscape were also beautiful and supported the content so well!

    Great experience

    by J. W. on 5/17/22Pantages Theatre - Minneapolis

Professor Cox has a knack for explaining complicated concepts in a way that keeps you engaged and doesn’t make you feel like a complete dummy. Would love to see him return to the Twin Cities (along with other science-themed entertainment) in the future.

Fascinating, maybe a little over my head, but great!

by Steve Sauder on 5/16/22Roy Thomson Hall - Toronto

I've long enjoyed watching Professor Cox on television and YouTube, and think that he's one of the best science communicators out there, taking complex scientific topics and making them understandable in that wonderful, calm delivery. The live event was every bit as good: big mind-expanding topics, the other scientist (whose name I can't remember) was funny and a great foil for Professor Cox, and it was a nice surprise to see Marc Garneau on stage too! All in all a very good show!

    Fun night out

by Monte G on 5/12/22Old National Centre - Indianapolis

Great time out. My wife even enjoyed it. Would like to have heard more on the quantum physics and entangled particles breakthroughs and experiments along with gravitational wave experiments.

by Marg on 5/9/22Roy Thomson Hall - Toronto

I attended Prof Brian Cox lecture, show ,thing on May 4th of course. I found it informational( the bits I could understand) lyrical and visually stunning. There wa too much Robert Ince mentioning that the audience might not undrstand parts of the info. We're there to be challenged and listen to the Prof's fsbulous voice. Robert's poem was a wonderful touch. Loved it snd will go again. The venue was comfortable too.

    My daughter loved it!

by CP on 5/6/22Roy Thomson Hall - Toronto

I wasn’t sure an 11 year old would have the stamina or interest for a 2.5 hour show like this, but we both loved it and she’s been talking about it for days. Definitely some difficult material to follow at times, but also plenty just to marvel and awe at.

How to enjoy a science lecture

by Regina on 4/30/22Beacon Theatre - New York

Make sure Professor Cox is the lecturer! He is always so educating and entertaining. He can make us not afraid of Armegeddon. He always explains things in such a simplistic way that we are amused and enlightened at the sane time. He is truly a rock star of science!

    Well, since you asked …

by FilledSeat on 4/29/22Beacon Theatre - New York

The lecture/show was overall a great experience. The pace and balance with humor was a great and the visuals were out of this world … *ahem* anyway, I will say the material that’s being discussed during the lecture/show should be exclusive from other podcasts and interviews. Other than that, thank you professor.
