    Terrific Show!

by WildWally on 3/13/18ASU Gammage - Tempe

Excellent show with a host who genuinely loves what he is doing! Chris Thile is an amazing talent in his own right who loves nothing more than putting other talented musicians together and making great music. I highly recommend this show for any age!

    Awesome show!!

by JohnLB on 3/13/18ASU Gammage - Tempe

I've been wanting to see the show for a while now and finally had the chance. Chris put on a great show and the guest musicians were great. It was entertaining from start to finish.

    Fantastic...Wonderful...Go See This Show

by Anonymous on 12/27/17Town Hall - New York

This show in December has now become a holiday tradition. Chris Thile is not only a great MC for the show but also an amazing performer. The rest of the cast of characters are very talented and it is fun to watch as they go through their various parts during the show. The guest performers are not your typical mainstream stars but because of this show I have become a fan of many of them...the Staves and yMusic to name just two of them. Bottom line...Go See This Show.

    Live from Here

by Spitzelee on 12/23/17Town Hall - New York

Awesome show! Chris Thiele is a master, so are every one of the musicians on stage! I've attended many Home Companion shows over the years and was uncertain how the show would evolve. Chris took the baton and is carrying it well! This 2+ hour performance was unbelievable, time flew. I brought a few friends who never heard of this show or any of the musicians and they are hooked!

We had terrible luck with parking next door in Quik Park (even though we reserved parking a month ago) but when we got inside to the show, all of the stress of the city faded away. I grew up listening to A Prairie Home Companion (now Live From Here), so being there in person was just kind of magical. Would love to go again.

Give me one moment in time..

by GrandpaBroadway on 12/19/17Town Hall - New York

As sublime as Chris Theile(sp) leading a raucous enthusiastic crowd in a quiet heartfelt “silent night”. A great mix of artists, genres, humor, and while the prairie is gone, a wonderful community feel remains. Happy holidays all!

Not the same but very good!

by KCSenior on 12/19/17Town Hall - New York

Although it's not the "Prairie Home Companion" it was from years ago it is nice. Chris Thiele on his mandolin is wonderful and his music along with the other musicians is quite a treat. What is missed is the humor and comedy skits. Now with the name change to "Live from Here" I get an awkward feeling the show may not go on much longer.

    Prairie Home Companion

by Wainscott on 12/12/17Town Hall - New York

We saw Garrison Keillor's Prairie Home Companion a number of times and loved him - we still do! The new show is different but still great. The music variety was wonderful. Chris Thile does an excellent job as M.C. and his mandolin playing is amazing. I hope they don't change the title! The seating in the balcony at Town Hall is challenging. You have to duck and dive to see around the person in front of you.

Prarie Home Companion @ Town Hall

by Charcoll on 12/7/17Town Hall - New York

Let's face it, the show is not the same without Garrison Keillor - However, Chris Thile is doing a great job bringing in new talent and skits - I prefer more stories but this show is really very entertaining - at Town Hall we saw Spoon, Cecile McLorin Salvant, and Carmen Lynch. All performed great at and the 2 hours just flew by. The band and cast are fabulous - I hope that Chris with all of his visible love and passion for the show can keep PHC alive for the next several decades. My Rating is actually a 5 for the show and 3 for the Town Hall. The seats are comfortable and the theater easy to move around in My only gripe was that the Town Hall now screens ticket holders with metal detectors (a necessary evil?) and the process is SLOW at 5:50 we were still waiting in line nearly a half block from the theater - we missed the beginning of the show. IMO - the theater needs to open the doors earlier especially for a live radio program.

Review of Dec. 2 PHC show at Town Hall

by PHCFans on 12/5/17Town Hall - New York

Show was a great disappointment. The acts booked were totally out of sync with anything remotely close to the original PHC format. We appreciate that there was a desire to not present a clone show of the original PHC but it should have been more or less in the same bluegrass/story telling genre. Musical acts featuring jazz, cabaret and loud and annoying rock music are not what a PHC audience would want. The humorous "story telling" segment featuring the narrator's photograph on an easel was just silly. Chris Thile is a fabulous mandolin player but not really suited to be the host of a show like this. We know people listening on radio who turned the show off mid-way. We left early and won't return.

    PHC as good as ever.

by Prairiefan55 on 12/5/17Town Hall - New York

This is the second time we have seen the new version of a Prairie Home Companion, now known as "Town Hall". Great music in swarm and welcoming setting.

Not what it used to be

by NLRN on 12/5/17Town Hall - New York

I understand that when one host retires and another takes over, there will be changes. Chris Thile is extremely talented and a great host, but the essence of what PHC was is slowly being phased out. I have attended the show for the last 4 years and there is a clear difference in the program from then till now. I prefer the old-world, quirky, variety style show of PHC to the newer, more modern format. Spoon is a great band, but I don't think it had any business performing at PHC. On the fence about going back next year.

Outstanding event! Chris Thile is a great MC, not to mention a dynamite musician. I'd go to another live performance of PHC in a heartbeat!

    Amazing!

by CassandraAB on 11/8/17San Diego Civic Theatre - San Diego

Not only were all of the musicians incredibly talented, but the radio actors were charismatic and funny. I can't say enough about how please I was with this performance!
