    Garrison Keillor Show

by John G on 10/25/22The Anthem - Washington

The Garrison Keillor show in Washington, DC at the Anthem was a great show. He had a variety of talented guests, had most of his storied musicians back, and he was in good form. The Anthem is also a very cool venue.

EVERYTHING about this show was OUTSTANDING.

by Jackye on 10/25/22The Anthem - Washington

To experience Garrison Keillor again was amazingly pleasurable. I felt so grateful for his work and his superb ability to relate to the audience - of all ages, by the way. His fellow performers were all superb, for which I felt throughout the show, again, so grateful. Please make Garrison do this show in DC at least twice a year!

    It was a Woebegon WOW!

by Sally on 10/24/22The Anthem - Washington

Loved Seeing Garrison and the gang back in action...the show had plenty of everything, the four-hands at the piano with Rob Fisher and Rich Dworsky, the wonderful duets, the operatic solos of Ellie Dehn, the silver, versatile vocals of Heather Masse, the ending tale of Lake Woebegon...all spun into a magical evening.

    Worth the trip

by Rick on 10/24/22The Anthem - Washington

Traveled from Daytona Beach, FL to see this show. Was not disappointed. The soprano was outstanding, the poet the best. Guy Noir skit was hilarious. All the musicians are at the top of their game, making it look easy. The heart valve replacement a huge success. What Garrison does better than anybody else in showbiz… he knows how to handle humility. Rare in a person with a size XXXL talent.

    Show good Seats terrible

by Squirrel on 10/24/22The Anthem - Washington

Grateful that I got to see this show. Not his strongest but still had a lot of great moments. Venue was nice but the seating on the ground level was terrible. Seats are uncomfortably on top of each other and there is no incline so you absolutely CANNOT see over the row ahead of you. Many people, including myself, ended up switch to balcony seating which was farther but much better visibility.Staff was helpful and attentive.

    Great evening

    by phage_Bob on 10/24/22The Anthem - Washington

A wonderful trip down memory lane. We weren’t aware of Garrison Keilor’s recent heart surgery, glad he seems to have survived so well. At eighty, he still sings wonderfully. Our first outing in a long time. GK and his crew did not disappoint.

    Garrison Keillor at The Anthem

by Laurie on 10/24/22The Anthem - Washington

Overall the performance was good, but I had a very hard time hearing the speech of the performers. I'm partially (mostly) deaf and I read lips. In many cases, the performers turned sideways to the audience or turned their backs completely (Keillor), which lost me completely. The setup with all the microphones, speakers, prompters, music stands, and so on obscured the faces of some of the musicians. Some singers hold the microphone right in front of their mouth instead of slightly lower, so I don't get any of the words (Massey). The Anthem has a flat floor instead of more elevated or stadium-type seating, so this show, with people layered from the front to the back of the stage was not good for me. I would need to have everyone lined up in a row across the front of the stage to see their faces. I am very familiar with all of the artists, so I know what they are capable of. The Anthem was not a great venue for this type of show.

    Keillor was fantastic

by god on 12/3/19Pantages Theatre - Minneapolis

This reunion of the PHC cast wrapped in a Christmas theme provided all the characters we know and love plus some wonderfully satirical commentary on the Christmas juggernaut.

    not good

by JoeE on 12/3/19Pantages Theatre - Minneapolis

Sadly my companion and I missed the performance because of weather issues. The Pantages policy of standing outside no matter what the weather until allowed in, meant that my companion and I cancelled. I use a walker and this was not a gamble we wanted to take about a possible long wait.

    Classic Garrison

by Roger from Woodbury on 12/3/19Pantages Theatre - Minneapolis

This show included all the classic scripts, lots of song remakes and, of course, the news from Lake Woebegon. The band is always great. Garrison was matched with a beautiful singer. If you like the old formula, you'll like this show.

    Great Time

by BSCJLW on 3/14/18ASU Gammage - Tempe

I have been a fan of Prairie Home for forty years and This is Live since its inception. I had a wonderful time. Watching a live show and how things are produced makes the radio show even more enjoyable. I will go back again when they come through my town..
