    Potted Potter for all ages

by NoNameNadaNone on 11/16/12Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

For anyone who is a Potter fan of either the movies or the books, this was a lot of fun. It was interactive, which I wasn't expecting. The actors really seemed to enjoy what they were doing, as did the audience. The actors were also really good at improvisation when unplanned things happened during the interactive portions. I gave it 4 instead of 5 just because it was short at only 70 minutes. They barely scratched the surface of the last 2 books (3 movies). They could have easily made this 80 or 90 minutes by going a little more into the latter part of the series.

    Great fun - family friendly!

by CBZinger on 11/15/12Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

These guys were great. A few of the jokes were more focused on the adults (i.e. the recent Chicago Teacher's strike), but the humor and staging of this two-man show was terrific. The level of enthusiasm they had while on the stage was off the charts! Kids will like this show a lot, and they definitely catered to an older audience (those of us who were still "kids" when HP1 came out). Great show - 4 Stars!

    so veddy British!

by gramfrog on 11/15/12Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

Laughed ourselves silly. Stress-relieving, uproarious, intelligent, dry British humor-- these two actors will be playing these parts (all of them!) until they are grey and doddering.

Simply awful - Doesn't bring Harry Potter to Life

by trader14 on 11/13/12Water Tower Theatre - Chicago

We went to see the performance tonight (opening night) and have to say that this is honestly one of the worst performances I have ever seen I am sorry to say. We go to performances all over the city both headline shows and smaller performances. Promised parody, there was none. There are only 2 actors in the entire show and they seemed more interested in making themselves laugh instead of the audience. This show and these guys have no business being on a stage at all. It's bad enough that Potted Potter had no intention of bringing the books to life. But even on its own pathetic comic terms, it's very thin on imagination. Spend your dollars somewhere else.
