  • Fantastic

by We had a great time! on 11/11/25Veterans Memorial Coliseum - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

We had great seats. Fun to watch hockey again. I learned a valuable lesson. Purchase parking pass at the time you buy your ticket. I am an over 50 years old and raised locally. We never had to buy parking in advance. That is no longer true. Instead, I paid double to park and had to wait for other fans to return, before I could leave. Lesson learned.

  • Portland Winterhawks

by Phyllis on 10/29/25Veterans Memorial Coliseum - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

It had been a couple years since we had attended a Winterhawks game - getting tickets was real easy - we had Alaska family in attendance who also enjoyed the game. My 2 grandchildren are already looking forward to the next game. My only complaint was in trying to get prepaid parking which I learned, after a phone call, that is not available for Winterhawks games. It would be nice to make that information more accessible so don't have to make a phone call.

  • A Hat trick Hockey Playoff game for us

by Steven G on 4/4/25Veterans Memorial Coliseum - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

We had a trifecta night at Game 3: the VMC venue was Great, My sons and I have new joyful memories of a 6-3 win, and we walked away with Chic Fillet and Jamba coupons. Bonus: Winterhawks Legend Scooter Johnson was there, also past player Cody McCloud to thank for so many broadcasts and top level team playing seen too.

  • Tight

by punchbridges on 3/24/25Veterans Memorial Coliseum - PortlandRating: 3 out of 5

Fun and a great game but the tightest seat space ever experienced at Memorial Coliseum. We opted for an extra few bucks to get close to an end, still on the side, at a perfect height to see the full rink (Row H), but I could barely fit! And my legs are not especially long! My husband, at 5'10'' could not. We wandered around, watching the fast, close game, mostly from aisles. Lots of kids there, incredible athletes, talented ice dancers, great entertainment all around!

  • playoff-bound WHL hockey in a haounted house

by Paulie on 3/18/25Veterans Memorial Coliseum - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5

I'll start with a PSA: Some seasons, going to the Winterhawks can be better than others. I have seen some games where the hockey product is poor and the kids fight a lot. It has been a few years since I've seen that, but look at the team's record before you go, so you know. If they're losing a lot, you'll see more fights which might be what you're after. Hockey: This year, the Winterhawks are in the playoffs and they are playing well. Seattle played a more controlled game, but they made mistakes which Portland capitalized upon. Good game. Between Periods: Unlike the seemingly endless circus at a TrailBlazer game, when the play was whistled dead, there was no chaos, just some background music before the puck dropped again. Between periods, there were dancers on the ice before the Zamboni resurfaced. Considering they were dancing in shoes on ice, they were rather impressive. Not Brent Street, but again, they are on ice. Memorial Colosseum: I respect that the Memorial Colosseum is a Portland landmark and I respect the vet's who are honored by the memorial below the entrance. Whether in that light or in spite of it, the place needs a facelift in a major way. Everything is poorly-lit, dirty, dingy or stained. The seats are clapped out and the beer lines need to be deep-cleaned. The bathrooms are scary. It is a dive-bar treatment applied to a large venue: $13 Coors Light that smells funny.

Really fun and entertaining experience. Great value for the price. Unfortunately the winterhawks last.
