Poison in Concert

Helping bring commercial metal to the masses since the early '80s, Poison remain at the top of their game well into the current decade. Their Glam-a-Geddon tour in 2011 commemorating their 25th anniversary was a huge success, reflecting the band's now legendary status as a forerunner of American pop-metal. The same can be said for their 2012 tour with fellow rockers Def Leppard. Poison's live shows often combine raucous fun with serious musical entertainment. Ticket buyers were in for a night of loud, high-energy concert rock, not to mention the onstage antics of the notorious C.C. Deville, whose amazing guitar solos are known to exceed nine minutes. Poison's 2011 Double Dose: Ultimate HIts compilation album preceded their summer tour and features all their hit singles that topped music charts.

It began in 1984, with frontman Bret Michaels, bassist Bobby Dall and drummer Rikki Rockett. Deville joined the band shortly thereafter, and the spirit of Poison was born. The glam fashion and metal attitude were a surprisingly effective mix. The 1986 hit Look What the Cat Dragged sold over two million copies, peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200. With the release of 1988's Open Up and Say... Ahhh!, the super-smash anthem "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" cemented Poison firmly in their place in musical history. Their 2002 album Hollyweird reunited the band's original lineup after years following a falling-out among members. The reunion seems to have reinvigorated Poison, as it holds true to everything the band ever was and everything it ever will be in the public's eye. Songs like "Wishful Thinkin'" and the title track are hard-driving, good-old-fashioned rock and roll with a pop-metal edge. Fans could not ask for anything more, and a whole new generation of fans got a good glimpse of what the legendary Poison was all about.

    Poison was EXCELLENT!! Fantastic show!!

by AmandaRae on 8/23/22BOK Center - Tulsa

Great seats in a great venue. Every show I’ve seen at the BOK center has been awesome. If there is one drawback it would be the fact that there are no facilities on the floor level. It’s a real pain in the ass having to climb a large flight of stairs and deal with all the congestion created in the stairway because of it whenever you need to go to the restroom or get something to drink. Maybe time to rethink the logistics of this problem.

    Worst Concert Ever

    by B. A. on 8/23/22BOK Center - Tulsa

Brett Michaels and Poison need to quit the music business as their show at the BOK Center was awful, horrible, disappointing and disgusting. Brett Michaels and Poison left the fans waiting for way-way-way over two (2) hours and the show was more about the bands, LA Guns, Cinderellas' and Tom Keifer than Brett Michaels and Poison. If it had not been for those bands there would not have been a concert. Those bands were the ones that ROCKED THE BOK CENTER. La Guns, Cinderella's and Tom Keifer gave ALL OF THEIR HEART AND SOUL FOR US THE FANS. These bands music, their feelings for the fans and the ABSOLUTELY UNBELIVEABLE SOUNDS THEY HAD COMING OUT OF THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE AMAZING. THESE BANDS ARE THE BRETT MICHAELS AND POISON CONCERTS.

    Awesome

by Deano on 8/23/22BOK Center - Tulsa

My daughter has been listening to a lot of the 80's music because of me. She had decided that her favorite is Cinderella. So i got tickets for this so she could see Tom Kieffer. I have seen all of these guys before multiple times. La guns came out and were great. They sounded really good. Then, just when i thought it couldnt get much better Tom K. Comes out and just blows the lid off of that place. He was truly fantastic. His voice was perfect and my daughter loved it. Then we got to Poison. I have seen them several times over the years with the first time being in 1986 or 1987 when they opened up for david lee roth. I would not have thought it was possible but they did it. Again. They took it to a whole other level. Just like every time ive ever seen them they sound great, fantastic, as close to perfect as you could get. I will always go see poson. This concert was just perfect. The best thing of all was that my daughter got to experience this for her very first concert.

Great concert, spent too much on tix

by Burr on 8/23/22BOK Center - Tulsa

Nothing more annoying than to pay $300 for center floor tix and have a 6ft guy sitting in front of you with a cowboy hat on and the lady next to him hold her phone over her head the entire time to record. Never again.

Worst concert I have ever been to

by Disappointed on 8/23/22BOK Center - Tulsa

None of the bands were in tune. Tom Kiefer was drunk or high. Could not carry a time at all. LA guns was terrible. Poison lip synched the whole show

    Amazing

by Jay on 8/23/22BOK Center - Tulsa

Amazing seats! Only downside was a speaker stack was blocking our view of the drummer, paying $273 for 2 tickets youd think we'd see the WHOLE band but nope!

Tom Keifer lit up the stadium

by CHRIS O on 8/23/22BOK Center - Tulsa

Tom Keifer's voice is unparalleled. There is no one even close. Poison was lively for sure. But Keifer transcended earthly plains.

    Awesome

    by pchoustontx on 8/22/22

It was a multi bill concert that had 1. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. 2. Poison 3. Motley Crue Reunion 4. Def Leppard. The show was great until, Def Leppard, which they were horribly boring and lacked the punch that Motley Crue and Poison had. Poison should have been the next to last act. They were amazing.

Bret Michaels is the ultimate performer! This is my 3rd time seeing Poison and have seen Bret with his solo band many times. He knows how to work a crowd and makes it personal for even the people way in the back. While standing in line to get in CC came by to say hey and took pictures with the 25ish people waiting. Great group of guys and can't wait to see them again on the Stadium Tour in Minneapolis!
