Alllllmost perfect
by Jon on 6/25/25Virginia Beach Oceanfront - Virginia BeachRating: 4 out of 5Overall, this fest was a blast. The lineup was fantastic, staff was organized, trash and restrooms were regularly maintained, and the shows were on schedule to the minute. I 100% will be back next year. There are only a couple of things that I wish had been different, all related to the VIP experience.
The biggest thing is that there weren't many perks of spending the extra money to have VIP tickets. The front of the main stage was equally divided between VIP and GA so it was still pretty difficult to get anywhere close to the stage, and GA could have the same view as VIP, just from the other side. All of the other beach shows that I have been at had VIP only for the front of the stage.
The next thing was that the second stage was completely in the GA section, so there were VIP and GA attendees all vying for the same space. By the time we could get out of VIP and make our way towards Stage 2, we could barely hear the music. We missed a couple of the groups that we really wanted to see because it was packed out before we could get there.
Along those same lines, the second stage faced out towards the ocean (instead of down the beach towards the main stage) so once we got as close as we could get, we couldn't make out any of the music because the sound was carrying out to the fish instead of the 10,000 people who wanted to hear it.
The VIP restroom trailers with A/C were great (and well cleaned) and it was nice to be on the side of the beach that got the shade first, but I honestly don't know what else we got from having VIP tickets. Long story short, the festival is well worth going to, but the VIP experience should feel a little more like a VIP experience.
