The Playing for Change touring company is even better live than on their recordings. Great songs from multiple genres -- both old and new -- kept the place jumping. The PFC band will get you on your feet singing along with the music. I highly, highly recommend seeing them live.
I enjoy their music and videos immensely. But seeing them live was such a treat. Their enthusiasm is so contagious. Their music is medicine.
The band's energy was contagious, and their performance was unforgettable. It was both an entertaining and a moving experience, truly spreading their message of peace through music.
Playing for Change changes the spirit for the better. Wonderful, wonderful performance.
Band was great, inspiring. Unfortunately Clowes Hall usher was a real joy kill and rude.
Not only was the performance awesome, but the "cause" is even more so. The story of the birth and growth of this group of people is what each one of us should strive for in a world of unrest, civil and global, hatred, and absence of respect for our similarities as well as differences. One man decided to take on the challenge to make a difference and it has grown to include many people and their countries. The band is phenomenal and represents only a group of the individual musicians in the project. I would recommend anyone to see this concert. Their energy along with some pretty phenomenal singers as musicians make it a "DO NOT MISS". We drove 3 hours to see it and would do it again . You have to see them and hear their story when they are in your vicinity.
Amazing to witness true music coming from the heart and played for the joy of music not for the sake of performance. Wasn't sure the crowd mostly aging white people were going to remember how to let music vibrate into their DNA but this group never gave up and got these folks rockin!! One of the best shows I've seen! Def in my top ten all time!
We weren't familiar with this group, other than remembering we had seen something on TV about the project some time ago. We were wonderfully pleased to see what this show was about! The music was awesome, but it was the soul in each of the players that made the whole thing very special. By the end of the show the entire audience was on their feet, dancing and clapping to the beat. It was also inspiring to know that they had built eight schools in third world countries from the monies raised through Playing for Change. Get out there and be the change you want to see in the world!
This music not only infuses you with its energy of love but uplifts in a powerful way. While many songs have the ability to be uplifting there is something magical in the Playing for Change presentation. I've been to 3 of their concerts now and it just keeps getting better.
I'm not much of a "concert" goer, but I watched the DVD about Playing for Change and then my best friend sent me a CD for my birthday. Wow ! I was excited when I heard that they were coming near me. The concert at the Aladdin Theater was wonderful. I hate those stuffy venues where your stuck in your seat. Not at the Aladdin, everyone was up and dancing ! Playing for Change touches my heart. They emulate a union of consciousness, a oneness of spirit. I felt their hearts spewing forth when they performed; the fusion of each performer melding together. Their message; people from all over the world can come together with a common goal and create magnificence. I will make a point of going to see them again !!!
It doesn't get much better. Playing for Change's performance was incredible. Exceptionally talented musicians with contagious energy and playfulness!
