Playing for Change - Worth seeing Live!!!

    by Jazzie000 on 6/18/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

The show was awesome! Fun and a lot of soul, from beginning to end. All the musicians are fantastic, but grandpa Eliot and Clarence Bekker have the most charismatic presence ever. I would recommend it to anyone, and would definitely go see them again! Not to mention that we're supporting a great cause while we enjoy ourselves. It's a win win.

    An inspiring evening!

    by Tinah1114 on 3/19/12Lincoln Theatre - COLUMBUS

It was a great concert and very inspiring. It was good to see some of the familiar faces from the Playing for Change videos (especially Grandpa Elliott). We had a wonderful evening and would see them if they returned to Columbus again. Don't miss it if they are in your area!

The PFC Band is Better Than Ever

by PFCEvangelist on 3/4/12The Concert Hall - New York

This incarnation of the PFC Band is great. They perform some of the PFC Band classic songs and they have a lot of new ones. If you live someplace where you can see them, you must go.

    Playing for Change was phenomenal!!!

by Klpattman on 3/4/12The Concert Hall - New York

Playing for Change was the most uplifting concert I've been to in a while! The band was very tight, the singing and dancing were amazing, their harmonies were out of this world! Their energy was unstoppable, I would highly recommend everyone to experience this band. Had I realized they were playing the next night in Boston, I would have gotten tickets to that show also. I loved the small venue, it was very intimate. Everyone shared in the experience. I just can't wait for them to come back to NYC again!!!

    Playing for Change...worth every cent!

by Klus on 3/2/12Lincoln Theatre - COLUMBUS

Playing For Change put on an extremely friendly, upbeat, beautiful show. They did mostly music that represented each of their roots, and the result was gorgeous. Each of the 8 perfomers onstage was masterful. Grandpa Elliott was more than just a pretty face, his singing was a great addition and his harmonica playing was excellent. Going in I was most excited to see singer Clarence Bekker. He pole-vaulted over my expectations. He could sing AND dance like no other R&B performer I've seen in a long time, and was also fabulous on every type of song they did. Singer Titi Tsira also had an amazing voice and kept up every dance step with Bekker...no easy task! Renard Poche played electric guitar, and several other instruments, all very well. They performed songs by Jason Tamba who sang and played guitar, and brought the music from his Congo home. Everyone on stage was brilliant, We had them sign the Live in NY CD/DVD we got...which is great...and they were very gracious people who enjoyed talking to their fans.

    Playing for Change was awesome!!!!

    by 1NewDay on 2/29/12Lincoln Theatre - COLUMBUS

I've followed this foundation for quite awhile and would always check to see if they were touring close to where I live which is the Cleveland, OH area. When I saw they would be in Columbus, I thought "Close enough"! Road trip! Grandpa Elliott is revered and inspiring. Clarence is an amazing singer. Just watching the Playing for Change original video, I always wanted to meet Clarence in person. I finally did, and he gave me a hug. TiTi is one of the strongest female voices I've ever heard at both the top and bottom ranges. The remainder of the group - Mermans and all others are incredible.

Playing for change was superb and an inspiration

by Zumbanana on 2/29/12Lincoln Theatre - COLUMBUS

I have been familiar with Playing for Change for only 5 months now. I own both cd/DVD (volumes 1& 2.) I have watched them so much that I'm familiar with every musician. I was thrilled to see Clarence and Grampa Elliot as well as the two wonderful musicians from the Congo and the woman singer from South Africa. Also, the drummer, the pianist and the bass player were amazing. The audience all got up and danced during the last part of the show. It Was GO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!L

    Playing for Change was awesome!

by 1anj on 2/27/12Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

My children and I have been watching the videos of Playing for Change for several months now, and just knew that we had to see them in person. They were even better than I could have imagined. The pure raw talent and the love and compassion of the performers was overwhelming. Though they were not able to bring "Live" all of the performers from the videos the ones that were there were fantastic. Such a beautiful blend of voices and faces and songs. I hope that we are able to get them to come to my hometown soon.

It doesn't get any better for the value

by Hoosiervegas on 2/26/12Clowes Memorial Hall - Indianapolis

An excellent show on all levels...A+ performances across the board...musicians and vocalists..."cheap" as concerts go...exceptional value...extremely gracious performers who were genuinely appreciative of their audience...a MUST see anytime, anywhere. More performers should take a page out of their play book...especially the ones who start late - (like Mariah Carey who showed up nearly 2 hours late for a concert) - just because- and who seemed to act as though concertgoers should be glad that they showed up.
