About

PJ Morton is a soul singer, songwriter, performer and producer based in New Orleans. He is a 5x GRAMMY-winner and 20x GRAMMY nominee who has earned numerous nominations for BET, Soul Train and NAACP Image Awards, in addition to selling out countless shows at historic venues like the Apollo Theater, Kennedy Center and others around the world. On top of running his own record label (Morton Records) and serving as Maroon 5's full-time keyboardist for the past 12+ years, he has collaborated with Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, Jon Batiste, Nas, Lil Wayne, JoJo, Yebba, Jill Scott and many others.

In 2024, PJ Morton will become the first Black composer to ever write an original song for a Disney attraction - Tiana's Bayou Adventure, coming soon to Disneyland and Disney World. He will also release an album entirely written, recorded and produced during a 30-day trip across Africa, and publish a new book titled Saturday Night, Sunday Morning. Arriving November 12th via Worthy Publishing, an imprint of Hachette Book Group, the memoir sees him recounting and reflecting upon a trailblazing path that continues to defy expectations and straddle the tensions of music and faith, race and culture, expression and identity.

The concert was amazing as always !!! attending a pj morton concert is like a BIG city family choir reunion ! If you know you know !!! however the comedian / host was just horrible . he was funny nor did he keep our attention . it would be nice if the city can use our own comedians . we have plenty Good ones . other then that i’m looking forward to next year !

by LadyKc on 2/11/24Bruton Theatre - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

This was my first time at this theater. Seating wise it was ok. Parking was ok. Sound quality started off real shaky but made a turnaround before PJ came on the stage. I thoroughly enjoyed his concert. He’s a phenomenal entertainer.

  • I absolutely LOVE PJ Morton!

by FTWMusicLover on 11/30/23Bruton Theatre - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

PJ Morton's music is soul stirring and the show is so uplifting. I loved the band, the live music. The entire audience was in love too as seen by the crowd participation in the show. Singing and dancing in the aisles...it's a family gathering...a party of joy! I'm already looking forward to the next time I can see him perform live.

  • What a performance!

by JB on 11/29/23Bruton Theatre - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

PJ Morton is an instrumental delight! His musicians, background singers, and his songs that resonate with my generation all together make it awesome. There were productions issues, specifically the sound. It was clear a sound check was not done prior to starting the show. Once it got going it was great!

  • Great but short show

    by A fan on 11/29/23Bruton Theatre - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

It started off rocky. No host so when the opening act preformed the microphones weren’t on 😬 But Pj Morton still gave a fantastic show. Just wish it was longer.

  • Show was okay

by PJ Fan on 11/29/23Bruton Theatre - DallasRating: 2 out of 5

Listen I am a PJ fan but the show was blah. Sound was off for opening act and energy was not good from audience.

  • was tis it

    by T. on 11/29/23Bruton Theatre - DallasRating: 1 out of 5

We waited over 30 mins for the doors to open , sound check took about 10 mins and the opening singer was good, I expected more from PJ he may have given 45 mins of performance but it was not good for the amount of the tickets he didn't do good

  • What a Time?

by Shan on 11/29/23Bruton Theatre - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

PJ gave us all the feels. It felt like church and a family reunion. The venue was intimate and the acoustics were good.

  • View ruined with huge speakers!

by Kesha on 11/29/23Bruton Theatre - DallasRating: 1 out of 5

I love supporting black owned creators and brands. Although Je’Caryous Johnson doesn’t have the best reputation as a promoter anything featuring one of my favorite artist PJ Morton is a no brainer, I would be in the building. I was super excited to be there, until I got to my seat. My view was impeded due to sound equipment we couldn’t see, the band, the background singers and barely PJ. You know a full PJ experience is seeing the entire set. I felt bad for the first time supporters I’ve seen him multiple times. I rarely complain about anything, but the price paid for these tickets this was truly upsetting. This is intended to be constructive feedback hopefully it will be read and changes will be made in the future to enhance the experience of supporters. Thank you and God Bless.

  • A great show

by Salt on 11/28/23Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

I had a great time at the show. I will say that being at a venue where there is seating was uncomfortable for me. I need to be on my feet for a PJ Morton show lol! But none the less I had a great time and got to introduce my Chicago cousin to PJ!

  • Phenomenal!

by NB on 11/28/23Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

PJ Morton's show was spectacular, and he is such an incredible musician! The way the band was utilized and all of the arrangements were super special. I loved it!

  • Time error

by San on 11/28/23Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was awesome. I don't have anything to say bad about the show. My only complaint was the time. Somewhere was as error with the time. Ticketmaster said that doors open at 6 and show start for 7. That was not the case. The doors didn't open until 7 and show started at 8. That was an inconvenience to the fans that was standing in line at 5. I feel you should alway respect people time.

  • PJ Morton Stand

by ChiNola on 11/28/23Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

PJ Morton gave us everything in New Orleans! Well worth the money I spent. I’ll see him again and again. After a rough 2023, where I lost my mother and grandmother, this concert was a balm to my weary heart. Thank you PJ.

  • Amazing from start to finish!!

DJ Arie Spins opened up the show with an incredible set that set the tone for the evening; PJ, his band and background singers gave an amazing show!!! Definitely a must see!!!
