About

PJ Morton is a soul singer, songwriter, performer and producer based in New Orleans. He is a 5x GRAMMY-winner and 20x GRAMMY nominee who has earned numerous nominations for BET, Soul Train and NAACP Image Awards, in addition to selling out countless shows at historic venues like the Apollo Theater, Kennedy Center and others around the world. On top of running his own record label (Morton Records) and serving as Maroon 5's full-time keyboardist for the past 12+ years, he has collaborated with Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, Jon Batiste, Nas, Lil Wayne, JoJo, Yebba, Jill Scott and many others.

In 2024, PJ Morton will become the first Black composer to ever write an original song for a Disney attraction - Tiana's Bayou Adventure, coming soon to Disneyland and Disney World. He will also release an album entirely written, recorded and produced during a 30-day trip across Africa, and publish a new book titled Saturday Night, Sunday Morning. Arriving November 12th via Worthy Publishing, an imprint of Hachette Book Group, the memoir sees him recounting and reflecting upon a trailblazing path that continues to defy expectations and straddle the tensions of music and faith, race and culture, expression and identity.

The PJ Morton show was definitely one for the books. The show was energetic, electric and engaging. It's a must see show. My wife and I have seen him a few times and it's always a show worth the time and money. If you have not witnessed PJ Morton live, put it on your bucket list.

  • The Absolute Best Night Ever

by Myra on 10/30/25The Belasco - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

This was my second time seeing PJ and we were not disappointed! The event was scheduled to be standing only but they made a change and added seating, this was such a bonus for me, being vertically challenged. The show was already great but at the end we got the surprise of a lifetime…STEVIE WONDER!!! It couldn’t have gotten any better. I plan to see PJ every chance I get. ❤️❤️❤️

  • Best Concert Ever

by TT on 9/16/25Tabernacle - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

My husband and I happed up on tickets at the last minute and we were thoroughly blessed. PJ is such a talented artist. He commanded the attention of the audience and his band members at the same time. Singing with a live band is such a lost art form so it was awesome to be in that space! I was even more surprised to find out PJ is my Morehouse brother (Spelman C’96). I would definitely attend another PJ Morton performance!

  • PJ Morton - Riverfront Jazz festival

by Coretta on 9/2/25Riverfront Jazz Fest at Fair Park - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

PJ Morton was awesome! However, did not like the fact he was over an hour late to the stage. Not sure what caused the delay.

  • Hometown Love is the Best Kind of Love

by PJ Morton Super Fan Club on 1/6/25Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

I saw PJ Morton last August when he came to my city. At the time, I knew that I was going to his Annual Black Friday show in NOLA. The show that I attended in August was prior to his injury. His injury did not stop him from putting on an AMAZING show in his hometown, NOLA. Every moment of the show had an electrifying feeling. From the band to PJ’s dad Bishop Paul Morton joining him on stage. Which was a very special moment. Having an opportunity to see PJ Morton live is always a treat. I can’t wait to see him again. Whether it’s in my hometown or his hometown or a neighboring town. It does not matter because PJ Morton never disappoints.

I have seen PJ many times and it is always an awesome experience. PJ and his background vocalists can flat out sing! The band is always on point as well. PJ and his crew are engaging with the audience, and their vibes make the concert even more fantastic. Do yourself a favor and go to one concert, I guarantee you will not only have a blast but you will continue to go.

  • World class musicianship & vocals!

by Seane’ Rice on 12/2/24Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 4 out of 5

The musicality & vocalists were absolutely world class! The atmosphere & theatre location was great; loved the blend of both old & new songs, as well as audience engagement! My only “con” was the concert’s length of time. It felt or was closer to an hour & half set, though we were there nearly 3, which did not include the meet-and-greet. Overall, great experience, which will certainly be an annual activity for my husband and I!
