About

PJ Masks on Tour

Ever since Superman and Batman made their comic-book debuts in the 1930s, kids have always been drawn to superhero stories. They've indulged aspirational fantasies of acquiring their own special powers and saving the world. The Disney Junior animated series PJ Masks is a superhero franchise with a twist — the superheroes are regular kids themselves.

By day, Connor, Amaya, and Greg are your typical first-graders playing on the schoolyard. By night, they turn into Catboy, Owlette, and Gekko — the costumed crime-fighting trio who announce their transformation on each episode with a motto that every parent knows by heart at this point. (All together now: "PJ Masks are on their way, into the night to save the day!")

Since its debut in 2015, PJ Masks has joined the ranks of Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig in the pantheon of TV shows that have provided young children with an early education thanks to the art of the Netflix binge-watch.

Like those programs, PJ Masks has spawned an IRL offshoot in the form of a live revue. After touring the PJ Masks: Time to Be a Hero! show over the course of 2017-18, our heroes return to stages across North America in 2019 with a brand-new production, PJ Masks Live! Save the Day! The show features (adult) actors dressed up as Catboy, Owlette, and Gekko, and it presents its storyline through a series of acrobatic musical numbers set against animated video backdrops.

Expect to see the PJs square off against their most infamous nemeses: the mad scientist Romeo; the silver-haired, moonbeam-wielding Luna Girl; and the shadowy Night Ninja with his army of Ninjalinos. (The show also includes a handful of new songs not featured on the Time to Be a Hero! soundtrack that was released in October 2018.)

    Not Good

by J RU on 6/3/19Sanford Pentagon - Sioux Falls

not sure if it was the arena or the equipment, but i couldn't hear a single word they said. Surprisingly my 3 yr old stayed interested in it until the last 20 min. the show it self was good enough for kids to see. I was just very disappointed that i couldn't even try and enjoy it, for the money i paid for the tickets.

    venue for PJ Masks

by l on 6/3/19Sanford Pentagon - Sioux Falls

The children really enjoyed the show. They sang along with the songs and captivated by the action. The venue was a little troublesome. They did not have the floor seats well marked so you had no idea where to sit. We were supposed to be front row seats but because of how they set it up, we were second row. Still good seats. You actually had to tell the attendant what seats you had and then he would ask the people next to your seats what their seat numbers where and then counted from there. Very disorganized for seating on the floor and because of this they didn't get everyone seated in correct seats until well after the show started. So the show was good, the venue had issues.

    Happy grandson

    by L. M. on 6/2/19Ohio Theatre - Columbus

Good venue, good seats. My grandson was so excited and loved it. My only complaint is that the show was scheduled to start at 6:00. They made an announcement at 6:00 that the show would start in 10 minutes, and then 5 minutes. Almost 20 minutes later they started! You have a theater full of elementary and preschool age kids bouncing off the walls already, start the show on time, or schedule it for 6:30!

    Hard to Follow

by Disgruntled Dad on 6/2/19Stephens Auditorium - Ames

I don’t know who this was put together for. There’s a plot that’s poorly put together and drags on for 55 minutes.

    Great Performance

    by D. G. on 6/2/19Stephens Auditorium - Ames

The show was fun for the kids. They really did a nice job highlighting each of the characters special skills/strengths (including the villains), and the story was great.

    Good Time

    by W. M. on 6/2/19Stephens Auditorium - Ames

Great light show and it kept 4 and 5 year olds attention for the most part for an hour and a half. Of course I think its helps if the youngsters are familiar with characters before hand. The main event was not over priced after seeing what must go into the show. I appreciate keeping the meet and great on the down low as far as the youngsters were concerned for those that did not "need" the option after an hour and a half, especially for the price. Overall it was a good experience.

My daughter and her friend absolutely loved the show. We had great 3rd row seats, they were captivated by the 3D features and how realistic it looked.

    Day with the kiddo's

by R. R. on 5/22/19Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

There was 8 of us. We enjoyed the show very much, including the kids. PJ had dance, music, comedy and special effects. The concession stand was a bit slow, only 2 employees trying to attend to a mass crowd of children & parents during intermission. They did the best they could. I didn't agree with a tip option for merchandise. Overall very nice experience.

The show was too short for the price of tickets.

by S.Carter on 5/22/19Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

The show was too short for the price of tickets. I don't think that the intermission was necessary, especially after 20 or so minutes into the show.

    Perfect

by Nessa515 on 5/21/19Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

Show started a little early but it was the best show I have been to by far. My daughter (4) had a blast even though they sang new songs. I recommend this show for all PJ Mask fans.

    Meh

by Lisa on 5/21/19Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

I brought my kids to see the show and it could’ve been way more exciting. Could’ve had more music more dancing more visuals . It was almost like a puppet show.

The Kids Seemed to Enjoy It

by lquinn2181 on 5/21/19Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

The production itself was good, although it would have been better if the actors were a little more age-appropriate. The special effects, on the other hand, were great. The worst part of the experience was the audience! I get that there are children (and MANY crying, antsy infants) at a children's production but the parents made ZERO effort at making them sit, pay attention, be quiet, etc. I'm not kidding...zero. (Some kids actually played with their newly bought light-up strobe toys throughout the performance, holding them up and zooming them around.) But what do you expect when the parents talked through the whole thing, got up and down constantly, and arrived 30-40 minutes late? Also, the VIP passes were just not worth the extra money. You got a little string backpack with a "McDonald's" toy inside and then had to stand in line for 30 minutes to take a 2-minute picture.

    A night out

by Z. on 5/21/19Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

Love the fact that it was very prompt but it believe the show could've been a little better , for the price that we pay for. The VIP tickets were too expensive.

    A lot to be desired

by T. M. on 5/21/19Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

Production value was on level with high school play. The show is an hour (there is a 15 minute intermission about 20 minutes in). Expected more interaction with crowd for kids to get excited about, but it was really just an acted out episode in bad outfits and stage props

We really enjoyed the show. The characters kept the crowd entertained throughout the duration of the show. I would definitely attend the show again.
