    Doo Wop Flop

by Anonymous on 12/11/11CONSOL Energy Center - Pittsburgh

I bought these tickets for my mother for her birthday gift because she is a huge doo wop fan. Although she was very thankful for the gift she didn't have good things to say about the concert. First of all she said the sound was muffled and couldn't understand what they were saying. Second of all she said there was a round stage (I had gotton her tickets at a table on the floor) and they looked at the performers backs all night. She was very disappointed! I was very unhappy to hear that my money was wasted and she didn't enjoy her evening.

    Forgettable Doo Wop

by ac16506 on 12/11/11CONSOL Energy Center - Pittsburgh

Groups were excellent but sound system is really poor. This is a terrible venue for a centerstage performance as the sound echoes all around. It was less when the groups were singing slow songs but during regular speech the speaker could not be understood due to the multiangle echoes. The small chairs on the floor are VERY uncomfortable...do not sit there unless you are 5" 5" and weigh 90 pounds, but count on the person next to being one of the larger adipose set.

    Doo Wop Rocked!

by Jerioke on 12/11/11CONSOL Energy Center - Pittsburgh

The Doo Wop Concert on Friday night was a great experience...the groups really brought their "A" game. Platatones were the best but when it came to a show stopper...Jay Black took the prize! His Cara Mia blew us away...as always even at his age he could still send chills up our spines with his voice. Along with all the other groups, it was a pleasure being there!

Kenny Vance was the highlight of the show

by jmybs on 12/11/11CONSOL Energy Center - Pittsburgh

Absolutely loved Kenny Vance and the Planatones..they are so energetic and fun; I could listen to them all nite. Also, Bill Haley's Comet were a highlight of the evening. Hope you have them back.

    Doo Wop was amazing!!

by kj0509 on 12/11/11CONSOL Energy Center - Pittsburgh

What a night!! Pittsburgh Doo Wop was amazing! We had such a great time walking down memory lane. My only complaint was that we looked at the backs of most of the groups as they were singing. We had floor seats in the 3rd row. I wish the groups had turned around so that we could also see their faces as they performed. I still would highly recommend Doo Wop.

Doo Wop is here to stay

by Jim410 on 12/11/11CONSOL Energy Center - Pittsburgh

Great seats on the floor, had a rough time understanding the spoken word due to echo or poor acustics. Music was outstanding. There needs to be more acts found,so us folks that are getting older can share the Golden times with our grandkids and their friends. We can't let our era be forgotten

    disappointed at Pittsburgh Doo Wop

by Birthdaygirl101 on 12/11/11CONSOL Energy Center - Pittsburgh

I attended the Pittsburgh Doo Wop on Friday Dec 9, 2011. Our seats were on the floor level. The acoustics were horrible. We were able to hear, but we could not understand anything that was being said. The table was near one of the exits and it was like sitting in a wind tunnel. It was so cold we never took off our coats. I would not recommend this to anyone. I don't believe this was worth the ticket price.

Sadly the sound system was terrible

by mham on 12/11/11CONSOL Energy Center - Pittsburgh

The sound system was awful. After the first hour it got better but it was a shame. The echo was hard to listen to.

    Kenny Vance makes this show!!!!!

by GrammyPIK on 12/16/10CONSOL Energy Center - Pittsburgh

We have attended this event for a number of years now and have not been disappointed. All of the performers were good, but Kenny Vance and the Planotones continue to bring us back each year. This event would not be the same without Kenny Vance. Would be good to see Smokey Robinson and also The Duprees.

    The entire show was fabulous

by Sandy327 on 12/13/10CONSOL Energy Center - Pittsburgh

From the first act to Bobby Rydel, couldn't have asked for a better show. Every act brought a little more nostalgia to the arena, and it was wonderful. The show had a variety of guests singing acapella, doo wop, and soul.

DooWop Concert was as good as ever!

by Retiredbiologist on 12/12/10CONSOL Energy Center - Pittsburgh

This was my 4th Richard Nader concert in Pittsburgh and I enjoyed every minute of it! Since my Pittsburgh Oldies Record Collectors Club disbanded 2 years ago, this is just about the only way for me to see the Oldies groups I so love! Deborah Nader had everything so well organized and the entertainers are always so well chosen. I will continue to go to every one of them that I am physically able to get to.

Show did not seem to be organized. Long pauses between acts. Most of the acts could not carry the tunes as well as they have in other years. I will not attend any shows in the future.

    Doo-Wop concert

by fredpat on 12/8/10CONSOL Energy Center - Pittsburgh

I thought the concert was fantastic. My personal opinion is that the mikes should be suspended from the ceiling so the performers didn't have to keep moving the mike stands out of the way. At times the music, which was spectakular, was maybe a little too loud to hear the singers real well. My party set on the floor and the view was wonderful. We could see the performers. Hopefully, I will be able to attend the next performance.

    DOO WOP

by mickeycvz on 12/8/10CONSOL Energy Center - Pittsburgh

The event was very good event but the accoustics were very poor. We were seated near the performers and we could hear them but it would seem to me that the people that were seated in the back rows would probably not be able to hear anything. I think the speakers on stage should have been more powerful and then the performance would have been much better. The acts were great but the sound system they had was poor. We also attended the "Eagles" concert at the energy center and their speaker system was great and you could hear them all the way up to the upper decks where we were seated.

Those oldies are always the goodies. We will attend again. Loved the show. Hate getting older, but these songs are the best ever.

    Doo Wop Concert was great.

by Llod on 12/7/10CONSOL Energy Center - Pittsburgh

I enjoyed most of the acts. The one act that I did not enjoy was Bobbie Rydell. Those attending with me all agreed that his performance was not that good.

The show was great as always. I've been attending for 4 years and continue to enjoy MY music, the years from 58 to 70. I am very happy to once again see the Planatones and was excited to see some new and famous groups. Keep up the great work, wishing great health to the performers and looking forward to next year's show.

The show was disappointing this year

by peteandkim on 12/7/10CONSOL Energy Center - Pittsburgh

Kenny Vance and the Planetones are always extremely entertaining and talented. However, several of the other acts this year were not as recognizable or engaging, and the announcers didn't always come across clearly, so that sometimes we didn't know who we were watching/hearing. Would like to see more of the Little Anthony & the Imperials, the Marcels, the Platters, type of show.

The show was throughly enjoyable. The only detraction were the loud people next to us who mocked the singers.
