Pink Martini on Tour

A massive collective with a rotating membership that's been active since the early 1990s, Pink Martini are a little orchestra that knows no stylistic bounds. Playing classical and jazz, Latin and pop, what threads their performances together is a lighthearted, jazzy vibe that basically demands you move along with it. Pink Martini have performed with over 50 orchestras in cities around the world, from the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the San Francisco Symphony to the BBC Concert Orchestra. Their first live breakthrough came at the Cannes Film Festival in 1997, while their orchestral debut came in 1998 with the Oregon Symphony. The ensemble played several New Year's Eve concerts at L.A.'s Walt Disney Concert Hall across the 2000s and early 2010s, and they've performed multiple sold-out concerts at New York's Carnegie Hall. Their live performance at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland, Oregon, was aired live on NPR and eventually released in 2009 as a live CD/DVD called Discover the World. The group have also graced late-night talk show stages, including Conan O'Brien, David Letterman and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Pink Martini in Concert

Started by pianist Thomas Lauderdale in Portland, Oregon, in 1994 as an alternative to the event-based ensembles he'd grown tired of playing in, Pink Martini quickly attracted hugely talented musicians like China Forbes and Storm Large. Their first album, Sympathique, charted in Belgium, France and Switzerland and was certified gold in Greece, while the album's eponymous single was nominated for Song of the Year at France's Victoires de la Musique awards. Pink Martini's 2004 sophomore album, Hang On Little Tomato, charted at No. 25 on the U.S. Billboard 200, and went 2x platinum in France, also earning gold status in Canada, Germany and Greece. The group has released numerous lauded albums since, including their hugely popular A Retrospective in 2011, which contained 21 tracks from their career and charted at No. 7 on U.S. Billboard's Top Jazz Albums.

  • One of the best live performances we've seen

by RosaRobinette on 3/19/25Lexington Opera House - LexingtonRating: 5 out of 5

This concert exceeded all our expectations. There were 10 people in the ensemble. It was about 1h45m without intermission. Sometimes the performers rotated on and off stage but the whole thing was seamless. At the end, the 2 singers sang a medley in about 20 different languages and just blew our mind. I will make sure to never miss the opportunity to see them in the future

  • Great show

  • We were unimpressed.

Packed house, the crowd was folks who had seen them multiple times prior and adored them. It was not my taste -

  • Pink Martini @ Broward Center

by LukaG on 1/19/25Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 4 out of 5

I listen to Pink Martini religiously, so attending this performance was a dream come true for me. Every single member of the band is absolutely fabulous and magical. I did miss Storm Large, though. I felt the space @ Broward was too big and grand for me. Next time, I’d love to see them in a more intimate, cozy environment.

  • Amazing But Too Short!

by IJDesigns on 1/16/25Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 4 out of 5

I have been a fan of Pink Martini for 20 years & this was my first time seeing them in concert. They were amazing. I especially loved getting up to dance to "Donde Estas Yolanda?"The vibe, the sound, everything was perfect. But a 1.5 hour concert? I wanted more, especially for what I paid!

  • Amazing musicians

by Mickey on 1/16/25Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

The band is fun, retro & contemporary all in one. They are such unique & talented musicians. The concert was so entertaining. They performed their old standards and original compositions, ending in a compilation of songs in multiple languages. It was a musical trip around the world.

  • Too short of a show

by JO on 1/16/25Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 3 out of 5

Did not live up to expectations other than Yolanda song. China Forbes was excellent but the show was way too short.

  • Truly Spectacular

by Linda Gayle on 1/15/25Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

The Broward Center is a wonderful place to see a concert. All seats are comfortable and able to see the stage. PINK MARTINI is amazing and fun. I have seen them before and will continue to come to their concerts. The talent of the musicians and their interaction with the audience is a delight to witness. It is truly a group experience shared with all the people around you. Fun, FESTIVE, Entertaining and a JOY to be in the company of such an exciting presentation. China, the singer is beyond talented as are all the musicians. They tell a story and weave all the backgrounds of their musicians and their instruments into the evening. A treat NOT TO BE MISSED.

  • Wonderful, for the 10th time!

by Skeet on 1/15/25Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

This is one of the best concerts PM has giving that I've been able to attend. Everything was perfect. This performance was much better than the last one of theirs that I saw at Red Rocks in Denver, CO. It was rainy and they cut the show short, plus half their time was dedicated to a new performer (she wasn't very good at all) they were promoting.

  • Pink Martini

  • Fabulous Way to Spend a Sunday Evening!

Pink Martini far exceeded all my expectations!! I recently heard about them. What a great addition to my playlist.

  • Great Band, Get Better Sound Personnel

by Annie B on 1/15/25Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 4 out of 5

This band is the real deal. They are wonderfully musical and talented, blending world music with old-school jazzy Great American Songbook stylings. We were sitting just two rows behind the sound booth in the center, and we felt that the vocals were not forward enough in the sound. In fact, the whole thing was a little muddy from a sound production point of view. China and Thomas are very dear, and she is especially talented. I did feel like there were some missed opportunities either in their song selection or her performance that evening to really show off her belt, which is excellent. She was never pitchy or anything like that, but I never really heard all that I know she can do vocally in this performance. Her dress and shoes kind of cracked me up as costume pieces. I don’t know whether it was intended or not, but it looked like she had gone too the 1977 Ella Fitzgerald thrift shop or something. I really didn’t think her gown was terribly flattering, but somehow it totally suited her personality. Maybe she really loves it. I do think she could do with a little bit more choreograph stage movement, but I suspect that this band doesn’t really think in those terms.

  • Always amazing performance

by Floridaprincess on 1/15/25Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

We have seen Pink Martini twice before and always enjoyed it so much. They are excellent performers and musicians, highly rated and they have great energy. We would go again and again.

  • Class Act!

Fantastic as always! China Forbes has an incredible voice. Great entertainment!

  • Best concert

by Love on 1/15/25Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

We love pink martini we have seen them many many times in several different cities, and this by far was their very best concert. It was so nice to just hear them and not the other guests that they often invite who are not nearly as good or entertaining as pink martini. The sound system was incredible and being able to hear the individual instruments and China’s incredible voice made a fabulous enjoyable evening

  • Pink martini - tight 90” on time start!

by LAlex on 1/15/25Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Great band, started right on time (unlike other disrespectful artists who make the audience wait hours!) tight 90”-no intermission. Very energetic & professional performance.

  • Broward Center had poor scheduling

by Phil on 1/15/25Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft LauderdaleRating: 3 out of 5

We tried to avoid the valet and use the garage across the street. We drove up each floor to the top deck to no avail. We went to the valet, which was reasonably quick, but people were going in all directions. A show in the adjoining venue was getting out, and the issue was that the garage was full. We missed the first two songs, but I found the show relatively short overall. Though it worked in my favor, as I'm not a fan, I took my wife, who is. She loved it.
