Pink Martini on Tour
A massive collective with a rotating membership that's been active since the early 1990s, Pink Martini are a little orchestra that knows no stylistic bounds. Playing classical and jazz, Latin and pop, what threads their performances together is a lighthearted, jazzy vibe that basically demands you move along with it. Pink Martini have performed with over 50 orchestras in cities around the world, from the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the San Francisco Symphony to the BBC Concert Orchestra. Their first live breakthrough came at the Cannes Film Festival in 1997, while their orchestral debut came in 1998 with the Oregon Symphony. The ensemble played several New Year's Eve concerts at L.A.'s Walt Disney Concert Hall across the 2000s and early 2010s, and they've performed multiple sold-out concerts at New York's Carnegie Hall. Their live performance at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland, Oregon, was aired live on NPR and eventually released in 2009 as a live CD/DVD called Discover the World. The group have also graced late-night talk show stages, including Conan O'Brien, David Letterman and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
Pink Martini in Concert
Started by pianist Thomas Lauderdale in Portland, Oregon, in 1994 as an alternative to the event-based ensembles he'd grown tired of playing in, Pink Martini quickly attracted hugely talented musicians like China Forbes and Storm Large. Their first album, Sympathique, charted in Belgium, France and Switzerland and was certified gold in Greece, while the album's eponymous single was nominated for Song of the Year at France's Victoires de la Musique awards. Pink Martini's 2004 sophomore album, Hang On Little Tomato, charted at No. 25 on the U.S. Billboard 200, and went 2x platinum in France, also earning gold status in Canada, Germany and Greece. The group has released numerous lauded albums since, including their hugely popular A Retrospective in 2011, which contained 21 tracks from their career and charted at No. 7 on U.S. Billboard's Top Jazz Albums.

What a great night with Pink Martini. Enjoyed every somg performed and all the talented people performing. Gonna miss China Forbes.
Originally Storm Large was billed as a guest star. However, they changed the billing after I purchased my ticket. And no Storm, No explanation, no refund.
We have attended three previous Pink Martini concerts and loved them all, but this one was very disappointing. We came to hear Pink Martini, not a lineup of guest singers. At one point they even performed “Nine to Five,” which felt out of place given the many wonderful songs from their own repertoire they could have chosen. At one point I thought I was at an award show rather than a concert, with all the focus shifting away from the music. The experience was so underwhelming that we decided to leave early—partly to avoid the rush at the Greek Theatre, but mostly because the magic just wasn’t there. Sadly, this will be our last Pink Martini concert.
Pink Martini is comprised of extremely talented singers (especially China!) and musicians! Having said that, I would have preferred to hear more vocals from China rather than a couple of the guest singers. She always sounds great but she seemed a bit tired compared to the other times I've seen her perform. Can't blame her though...it was her second to last performance at the end of her tour.
Pink Martini is one of the favorite groups of the last 3 decades.... congratulations on such a great performance!!
Our first time at The Greek but not the first time at a Pink Martini concert. Neither disappointed us!! It was a fantastic show, experience, atmosphere and evening of joy!!
A lot of my friends have seen Pink Martini and recommended them to me. I decided to make it a date night and they were so talented and entertaining! They have been performing for 30 years and they have written songs in 25 languages! Enjoyed the whole concert and love that it ends with the audience dancing out in a conga line!
Always great to see Pink Martini. I have been a fan since 2000 and they never disappoint in their shows.
I thought I came to enjoy a Pink Martini concert, a 30th Anniversary concert at that, and they have written and performed many great songs I was looking forward to hearing. Instead I was regaled with a large number of “guest performers”, most of whom I have never heard of and did not enjoy. Bait and switch?
Tom Lauderdale, The Pink Martini band, China Forbes, and Arie Shapiro performed exceptionally under hardly bearable conditions! The heat and humidity didn't stop them or the over 4,000 members of the audience from being part of and enjoying a fabulous show! We love you Pink Martini!! Come to Norfolk or Virginia Beach, VA in 2027!!
Excellent group provided wonderfully fun evening of music!
Fabulous show. The music had me moving and the wine made me get up and dance. Loved everything about the evening.
Overall I felt too much time was spent by members of the band purchase merchandise. Took away from enjoyment of attending the concert and listening to the music live.
The concert was too short and boring, too much talking and no real entertainment. Not worth the price of the tickets or the effort required to get to the venue.
Wonderful music! Lovely evening, complete with a view of the moon. Very nice venue at Chateau ste Michelle. Organized, well staffed. I had a reserved seat and the chair was *comfortable* ! Pleasant surprise! Clean restrooms. Only one drawback - I didn't know there would be no offsite parking with a shuttle. I assumed there always was one, and I don't know how to find that out in advance. So I had worn sandals and was unprepared for a long walk from my car to my seat. Security lines were long and not well marked, so I ended up waiting in a long line unnecessarily. I would have paid to park right at the venue, but I thought that was pre-reserved parking and I didn't think I could just show up for that. Overall, great experience! Music was outstanding! Pink Martini is a very entertaining and talented group of musicians! Sound was good. Chair comfortable. I simply would have appreciated more easily accessible information on parking.
The Live Nation team or whoever is in charge of pre concert entry process should be fired. Most disorganized, ,stop/start process have ever seen. Prior concerts, someone was actually thinking and pre screened many folks in line and even scanned tickets…excellent. This concert, not so much. Did not open doors when said they would, had numerous issues with the metal detectors and the folks screening seemed to take their sweet time. VERY frustrating entry process. Stood in line outside for almost 3 hours. Attend many concerts at the winery and this was the worst entry experience ever. Concert was good at least.
Once again China Forbes lit up the stage with her phenomenal voice and talent! Thomas Lauderdale and his orchestra put on an exceptional show as well.
About 1/2 the food trucks/trailers were closed, don't plan on eating there.
The band Pink Martini was everything we thought they would be, just a dream to see them live. The only downside was the heat because the concert was mid-day and it's an open auditorium. If you're going to Hayden auditorium during the day wear a hat and cooling bandana, sunscreen, and bring a pad/towel to sit on. They have good event chairs and food trucks and water stations. We took a shuttle to the auditorium as parking is minimal.
The music was fantastic! The talent on that stage was incredible! Just wish they would leave their political views out of the show.
