Phoenix Mercury History
The Phoenix Mercury are a professional basketball team in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Founded in 1997, the Mercury are one of the league’s original eight franchises. The team reached their first Finals in 1998 and have made six total appearances, winning in 2007, 2009 and 2014. The Mercury’s legacy is marked by two major No. 1 picks: Diana Taurasi in 2004 and Brittney Griner in 2013. As members of the Mercury, Taurasi won the regular season MVP in 2009 and set multiple WNBA records, including most career points, most three-pointers and most field goals made, while Griner earned two Defensive Player of the Year Awards and broke several block records. Ahead of the 2025 season, Taurasi announced her retirement and the Mercury acquired five-time All-Star Alyssa Thomas, who continues to hold the WNBA record for career triple-doubles.

The Phoenix Mercury played extremely well! They WON--beating the ATL Dream.
Enjoyed the game from Section 107. A lot of energy from the fans and dancers for the game.
Took my granddaughter to watch Shoni Shimmel play as close to home as we could get and PHX was it. Really enjoyed the game, facility was very nice, seats were great. However, our biggest disappointment was treatment of the fans. We are there to see the stars and my granddaughter wanted autographs really bad. There were no posters, hardly any Mercury memorabilia and definitely nothing for the Dream. Only a select few were allowed to enter the area for Mercury autographs, luckily somehow we got in. Of course we were really there to see Shoni and get her autograph. She did a post game interview and was cutoff and escorted out without having opportunity to meet her fans. Needless to say no opportunities whatsoever for an autograph. Shoni Shimmel increased ticket sales by at least 3,000 people. You should have treated her and her fans better.
Amazing experience at US Airways Center. The best basketball players in the world added to the energy of the x facter is an amazing summer can't miss event. Everyone needs to see these ladies live and be awed by their talent.
Game was awesome and to see shoni was even better!!
Exciting game. Great teamwork and poised to win it all.
It's a real pleasure to watch a WNBA game especially the Phoenix Mercury. What a joy to watch them move across the court and see a great play materialize right in front of you.
Great basketball! Fun activities Need more dancing from the hip-hop group which is head and shoulders better than the Suns dancers who are stuck in the 90's.
It was an awesome game. The employees at the arena are very nice.
What an entertaining show, both during the game and during breaks. The crowd, as usual, was really into it,
Had great seats. Had a wonderful time. They have great players.
We took friends for their first time. They couldn't believe how much they enjoyed themselves. Everything was great!! From the seats to the food and most importantly the Mercury winning their 10th in a row.
THE Mercury played so hard and worked together as a 1st place team that they are ,they give all to there fans and there fans love them ,Go Mercury all the way ,and cant wait to see another game ,,This was my frist time watching the Mercury play and was impressed with them as a team !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you haven't been to a Mercury game and you're a sports fan - go NOW! The Phoenix Mercury are the hottest sports team in town. They have been for years so what are you waiting for? GO!
We got great seats for a great price. I would have rated the experience 5 stars if it wasn't for how many kids were there. It was soooo annoying. Every time the crowd was asked to chant "defense" all you could hear is little 6 year olds (not very intimidating). The whole stadium smelled like baby powder. But besides that the food was great the teams played great and me and my brother actually made friends with the guy sitting behind us. Overall a good experience (:
The game was Fantastic. Seats were good. Had an Awesome time!! Well worth the price, along with the burgers & fries .Highly Recommended.
We had fun and the atmosphere is great. Lots of fans and all were friendly and courteous. The only draw back is I think people sitting in these seats are omitted from participating in the activities on the game floor during the breaks.
Great time at a Mercury game with our granddaughter and her friend. The team played well, we had good seats, and the crowd was enthusiastic. Always a fun time.
Had a good time. Looking forward to the next event.
went to see my cousin play!!! took the family out!!!
