Pop-rock musician Phillip Phillips wowed “American Idol” fans and judges in season 11 with spot-on covers of iconic songs including Steve Wonder’s “Superstition”, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, and Otis Redding’s “Hard to Handle”. Phillips’ scratchy vocals, reminiscent of his own idol Dave Matthews, are exemplified in his chart-topping debut single “Home” as well as sweet, mellow tracks like “So Easy”. His platinum-selling first album The World from the Side of the Moon includes the upbeat love song “Gone, Gone, Gone”, which is sure to be a wedding song for Phillips fans for years to come. The Georgia-born singer/songwriter wound up taking home the title of American Idol, but only after dealing with congenital kidney issues that landed him in the hospital for eight surgeries during the “Idol” season. Phillips recovered in time for the “American Idol LIVE Tour”, performing major-market concerts alongside the season’s nine other top contestants. The 46-city trek sold more than a quarter of a million tickets overall, placing it at No. 62 in the Top 200 North American tours of 2012.
This was a great performance! Phillip Phillips sounded amazing. It was awesome to get to see him live. I'd go again.
Great music with almost no pauses between songs. All the stuff you would expect to hear from Phil Phillips, with the big surprise of his closing the show with a unique arrangement of Michael Jackson’s Thriller! Oak and ash were a phenomenal opening act! Only knock on the show, there was no banter or interaction with the audience from Phil Phillips. Though the music was great, he didn’t always look like he was having fun himself. Still would highly recommend the show!
It was such a great night. Phillip Phillips and his band did such an awesome show and so did the opening act (Oak & Ash). Will see his concert again.
He was amazing.! Song were great. He loves his fans soooo much. Two song encore!
Phillip Phillips puts on a very good show, singing, playing guitar for over 1 hour straight. His voice has a soothing sound to it.
This was a night to remember! The venue was perfect, Beacon theater in all its elegance. The tickets were reasonably priced. The ushers were cordial and efficient. The acoustics, literally music to one's ears. The opening band, Oak & Ash, set the perfect mood, as their songs prepared us for the grand event. Phillip Phillips was MAGNETIC in every imaginable way! His rapport with the crowd? 110%. He invited us to stand up from our seats if we felt like it. Needless to say, we were all on our feet, dancing, singing and swaying to his music. Phillip Phillips is simply Divine! The best!
I appreciate his talent since American Idol in 2012, I was Phillip Phillips team haha, and yesterday I had the opportunity to went to his concert in NYC.
Phillip did not disappoint. Drove over 200 miles (each way in pouring rain) to see him for the first time. He has an amazing voice and performed many of his songs since his big win on American Idol. The only negative for me was the length of his show, way too short! Maybe next time.
We were very impressed with the show! The venue Horseshoe Casino Bluesville @ Robinsville was on the smaller side but made for a more intimate show! Even though there isn’t a bad seat in the place, the staff let us move closer which was close to the 4th row off to the side. (It wasn’t a packed house) Phillip Phillips and his band know how to jam! True artists! It was an awesome show!
This concert was GREAT!!! Phillip was "MAGNETIC" all night!!! The space was FULL and he ROCKED IT!!! Great time had by all!!!
Magnetic Tour - Phillip Phillips was awesome. I really enjoyed his performance.
Phillip Phillips was the best performance I have attended in years. He tore the Walker Theater up with his band, his singing, stage presence. He is down to earth just like he was when he won American Idol. I would love to see him come back to Chattanooga on his next tour. He had the place rocking and so involved. Love Phillip Phillips!!
I would have never thought a show would have so much energy! I has a great time and this show was outstanding!
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed thr Philip Phillips concert. We weren't as excited about the group that opened for him.
Phillip Phillips is an AMAZINGLY TALENTED MUSICIAN/SINGER/SONGWRITER! But that is not the best part, his sincerity, appreciation of his fans and staying true to himself, is remarkable. Thank you, Mr. Phillips for a wonderful show from start to finish!
Phillip always, always puts on a wonderful show. He’s so interactive with the crowd & truly Loves what he does! I’ll defintely be seeing him again.
Phillip never disappoints! Amazing show! The ballroom thieves opened the show and they were amazing too! The connection that these guys bring to music is next level I will always go see phillip when he is performing!!!
We had an awesome time, both acts were great and did not disappoint! The energy levels were high and stayed that way throughout the show. I would definitely recommend seeing Phillip Philips, and check out The Ballroom Thieves.
Better than I imagined. Outsranding guitar player and vocals. Did not wantbut to end.
I knew Phillip Phillips was something special the first time I heard him on American Idol. Hearing him with this extremely talented band was better than I could have imagined. May be the best I have ever seen.
