Pop-rock musician Phillip Phillips wowed “American Idol” fans and judges in season 11 with spot-on covers of iconic songs including Steve Wonder’s “Superstition”, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, and Otis Redding’s “Hard to Handle”. Phillips’ scratchy vocals, reminiscent of his own idol Dave Matthews, are exemplified in his chart-topping debut single “Home” as well as sweet, mellow tracks like “So Easy”. His platinum-selling first album The World from the Side of the Moon includes the upbeat love song “Gone, Gone, Gone”, which is sure to be a wedding song for Phillips fans for years to come. The Georgia-born singer/songwriter wound up taking home the title of American Idol, but only after dealing with congenital kidney issues that landed him in the hospital for eight surgeries during the “Idol” season. Phillips recovered in time for the “American Idol LIVE Tour”, performing major-market concerts alongside the season’s nine other top contestants. The 46-city trek sold more than a quarter of a million tickets overall, placing it at No. 62 in the Top 200 North American tours of 2012.

Didn’t like paying for parking when parking was free, not happy with that option.
i absolutely love phillip phillips and this concert did not disappoint. he is such a great performer and he is so talented. he seemed to really appreciate his fans and stay engaged with us at the show. the only issue i had with the venue was little to no leg room in the balcony seating. overall, this was one of the best concerts i’ve been to !!
He and his band "rocked"! They are highly skilled musicians! I enjoyed the whole experience! Phillip was engaging with the audience. The concert was appropriate for all ages. The venue was also amazing . . . I would call it intimate. The staff is fantastic. Very customer friendly. I'm glad I attended. The opening act . . . Quinn Lewis was also great! Had a wonderful time1
Phillip Phillips gave a terrific show. A little bit short but if he didn’t leave us wanting more, that would mean it wasn’t very good, right? What was so cool was how he mingled with fans, taking selfies, handing out guitar picks, etc. never seen an artist do that before. This is a real guy. Very relatable. Very talented. Great packing band too. Strong Dave Matthew’s Band vibe. The Birchmere is now my most favorite venue. Free parking, great table service, the food was very good.
Very good choice of songs and all band members played exceptionally! Would see them again for sure!
The opening song felt like a finale- the energy was so amazing and Phillip wove together a great set. I loved the intimacy of the Birchmere and he and the band sounded incredible.
Phillip Phillips was terrific! He was interactive with the audience, genuine in sharing what is happening on this tour and his life and just genuinely seemed glad to be there and entertain with his outstanding music. One of the best shows you will see out there. He is such a creative talent and musician. I can't believe that we got to see him in such a wonderful venue. Definitely would see him again.
Loved the smaller atmosphere…they were all so talented and great performers. Phillip went out of his way to thank you for being there. It was just a totally different experience than being in a huge arena. I loved it. They all were great!
So sad that an emergency came up and we could not go, I’m sure he was phenomenal!
I loved everything about the concert. I love that he chose a smaller venue therefore I felt like I was really close and any seat was a good seat. I also really liked that he stayed on stage after the concert and took pics and greeted people.
Absolutely LOVED the concert!!! Loved the atmosphere, music, Phillip Phillips and the beautiful theater.
Just saw Phillip Phillips last week, here in Memphis. It was a small venue and not that big of a crowd since people are still scared of Covid. However, he and his band, along with the opening band, American Authors played like it was 10,000 people in the room! They were great and didn't hold back anything! I'll 100% go see either of them the next time they're in town. Great performance!
Amazing show, we all had a blast. Great venue with a great artist! So fun! Looking forward to seeing him again!
The venue and concert were awesome. We would attend another event at Ludlow Garage. Staff were awesome and very helpful. As always Phillip Philips put on an awesome concert. This was our 3rd time seeing him. Would most definitely attend another of his concerts.
Phillip Phillips puts on a wonderful show. So enjoyable. What a talent.
Phillip Phillips was very personable and preformed fantastically. The venue was such a great experience as well. It is like you are hanging out in a friends basement with some other friends playing music. This kind of artist works really well with the up close and personal. It was a great event!
The Ludlow Garage was an intimate venue with good acoustics. The music was great, but the show was very short. It lasted about 75 minutes with about an hour of actual music. For having to travel and stay in a hotel, I hoped for more music. He has much more to share with us, but I felt he was in a hurry to leave as he said he was seeing his family the next day. I’ve seen his 3 times and always end up wanting more from the shows. A little disappointed again.
Phillip Phillips was really wonderful! Great venue, felt like he and his *AWESOME* guitarist was in a friend basement playing for is. So chill.
One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to! Ludlow Garage was great, not a bad seat in the place, and Phillip Phillips was wonderful, as always! The sounds he and Errol Cooney produced from two guitars was nothing short of amazing. His voice just gets better with time and I can’t wait for new music!
