Friendly games are a mixed bag

by tpark19713 on 7/22/10Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

Union first team played their regular attacking style and took it to the Man U 'B' team. However they could not prevail and after the half, Union 'B' team could not get anything going. Man U score came after many chances, but Union didn't really have the fire to come back and make something happen. Good to see a true Premier team, but Man U fans were silent until the score. And it was not as exciting as the previous week's game against Celtic. THAT was a great game all around, for fans and for players. Corner seats at the Linc are good for seeing the entire field. Concessions and facilities are right by ramp. Also corner seats are right by the gates, for late arrivals or early exits.

    Great soccer experience!

by davedill on 7/22/10Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

The expansion Philadelphia Union were part of Manchester United's US preseason tour, and this match didn't disappoint. The Union held their own (obviously not against Man U's first team), and both teams provided an entertaining match with plenty of chances and nice passing. Thanks to Man U and the Union for a first-class soccer experience!

The game was exciting and well balanced. It was a great family evening. The amount of vendors and concessions available and the staffing at the concessions was a mess. Lines were ednless and beyond slow.

The American people don't know anything about soccer/football. The crowd kept moving during the game and blocking our view of the field for getting things like hot dog, beer, etc.

    Entertaining practice match

by 64KC4 on 7/22/10Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

The atmosphere was good, but the play was less than spectacular. Nice to see ManU, but really the match was nothing more than a practice session for both teams.

    Don't waste your money

by Anonymous on 7/22/10Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

You spend all of this money to see Manchester United and what you get about 2 starters and then a whole of bunch of "upcoming stars". It was a total waste of time and money. When they tell you Manchester United is coming they should tell you - Yes, they are coming but it is the second and third string.

Seeing Man Utd live was awesome

by CiaranSkye on 7/22/10Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

The game was excellent. Although it wasn't a high scoring game, there were still plenty of thrills. Although I'm a Manchester United fan, the Union's goalkeeper did an excellent job of keeping the score closer than what it could have been. I hope United comes back to the U.S. again next year. I'll certainly be there.

Great seats for the price, too close to the action

by Anonymous on 7/22/10Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

I purchased the $30 tickets behind the endline and was only 9 rows from the field. The game was good for a pre-sesson game for Man U, but I was too close to the action. I've seen several games @ the Linc and find the best vantage pointt to be in the upper deck endzone seating. Unfortunately, the weren't sold for this fixture. you can view the entire field and see the play buildup from the defensive view. Because I was only 9 rows from the field, I had to deal with people constantly jumping up to see plays near the goal. All things considered, hot night--preseason game--traffic jams on I-95, it was a great night to see "THE RED DEVILS".

    Manchester United Rules!

by njsoccergal on 7/22/10Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

This was the next best thing to actually being at Old Trafford. Even though we didn't get to see the "A" team players it was still great. We have been long time Manchester United fans so this was like a dream come true. Our seats were great and we could see everything.

    Philadelphia Union Fought Hard

by rmomma on 7/22/10Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

My 14-yr-old son researched this event. We bought the tickets months ago and drove two hours to see it. He was so disappointed in how few of the Manchester United starting line-up were actually there. It was a fun event, but certainly lacked the excitement of the last exhibition game we saw (Real Madrid V Barcelona at Soldier's Field in Chicago). Lincoln Financial Field is easy to get to and is surrounded by parking, but can anyone explain why they have so few traffic attendants directing flow out of these lots? It must have taken us 45 minutes to move the quarter of mile to get on major thoroughfare after the match.

    Manchester U Rocks

by kelleymk on 7/22/10Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

My son (7) and I had a great time at the game. Both teams played hard even though it was a pre-season game for Man U. Except for the drunk and disorderly Philly fans (what's new), the experience was great.

A Good Night with my Soccer Stars

by Lotsosoccer on 7/22/10Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

I attended the match with my sons and thier friend. The Linc is a great place and our seats were good. Manu U actually put some of their talent onto the field in the second half which really changed the game. Since I'm not the same sports enthusiast as my kids, I would have liked a little music or something layered in. Even during half time, the entertainment atmosphere was not great. But, all in all, it was a really good night with my boys.

very disappointed, paid alot of money for my tickets, all advertising was for Manchester United, will not go to the Linc again, very poorly organized. Traffic was terrible, no Police around after the game to help exit, Philadelphia bend over for Manchester United what happened to supporting your team, the Philadelphia Union,

It was pleasant evening and an enoyable game

by SmilnSteve on 7/22/10Lincoln Financial Field - Philadelphia

It was nice to see a Team from England we normally don't have the oppertunity to see on a regular basis. The game was competitive although not with the urgency a league game that matttered would have engendered.
