Philadelphia Mummers String Band Tickets

What can you say except the show was tremendous. I have been going to it for 40 years and it gets better all the time. Would like to see it back in Philadelphia though.

This was one of our favorite events of all time!Amazing costumes, great energy , remarkable musicianship,and just an overall spirit of fun. We wish the mummers could travel to the Midwest!

This venue is cold and dirty, and smelled of vomit in the area where we were sitting. There was no parking available in the lot at Boardwalk Hall because it was "VIP only" If I bought 4 tix to an event, I expect to be able to park in the lot! The performance was a watered down version of the New Year's parade. I guess if there were judges in the audience, the performers would have had a little more spark. I brought my elderly parents to this event because they are life-time fans of the mummers. I had to leave them on the sidewalk, in the rain until I found a parking spot a block away! I would never recommend attending an event at this venue.

Hubby and I totally enjoyed the 2013 Philadelphia Mummers String Band "Show of Shows". It was spectacular. We also appreciated the ease of getting to Boardwalk Hall and the ease of parking.

The drive to Atlantic City was worth every second. The Mummers string band association outdid themselves with amazing talent as well as endless hospitality. The music, costumes and choreography were breath-taking. It was rewarding to hear the instruments inside as you could delineate each note from each instrument, adding further to proof that The Mummers are a first class, talented organization. Seeing the age diversity of the participates as well as the detail and intricacy of the costumes was something you cannot always appreciate during the actual parade. I won't miss this show ever again!

Show of Shows was great!! Highly recommend for anyone who has never seen the Philadelphia Mummers.

I want to see this show so bad, purchased tics and hope its great as on TV I was into the mummers since I was little,my Mom and I would strut with them up Broad st. My son was even in it the year of 85 with Jokers. Long history of Mummery. Hope we have a good time after reading all the reviews .

THE SHOW WAS AWSOME - I SEE THERE WAS NOT MANY PEOPLE ATTENDING- THAT SHOW USED TO BE PACKED 2 WEEKENDS AND DURING THE WEEK WAY BACK - NEEDED MORE FOOD VENDORS OPEN - LINES WAY TOO LONG - AND A VERY POOR SELECTION OF SHIRTS - NO COLOR ( FOR A MUMMERS EVENT - PLEASE - ITS ALL ABOUT COLOR ) AND NO BIG SIZES AVAILABLE - BUT THE SHOW ITSELF WAS GREAT AND AGAIN STEVE DID A SUPER JOB !

Excellent show - show moved along well - great music - great costumes - production value was huge.

Everyone assumes that Mummery is a group of old, Italian, South Philadelphian Men who get tipsy and play out of date music and march around. Nothing could be further from the truth! The shows that the string bands put on are full of life, color, contemporary music and gags that will make you laugh and tap your feet. It's a treat for the whole family! We've been comming to the Show of Shows and each year it gets better and better! My husband and I cannot wait for next year.

I have been wanting to go to the Show of Show for years as I am an avid mummers fan and my daughter purchased tickets for this year's show for us to attend. I was so surprised to find that the show lacked the luster that I had expected. The sound was awful, the lighting horrific and the master of ceremonies should have left his jokes at home. The energy level of a majority of the bands was less than enthusiastic and where were the props?? It was also quite obvious that there were band members missing from several of the bands. This show was a total disappointment to me and I will not be going to another one. I have been going to parade since the year I was born (I am 65 yrs old) and love the string bands but they really let me down at this show!!

as always a fantastic show!! the bands are wonderful their costumes this year were spectacular!!

I bought 3 tickets as a gift for the past holidays. This is definitely a show families should come to see. I couldn't decide which I liked more, the costumes or the music. All of the band member's that came in our direction were very friendly. When tickets go on sale again, I intend to try to get front row seats. Loved every minute of it.

The great thing about it was the new host from channel ph17. I mean the show was great but Steve kept it moving along with his sometime funny jokes. I would come back next year.

This was an awesome performance by working men and women in string band clubs that has been around for a century. A wonderful event.

The sound system was not all that great. Not sure who was responsible for the system. The show was very good even with that issue. Yes I would come and see it again.

We enjoyed the Show of Shows! It was great to see the same String Bands that were in the New Year's parade.

THE CONTENT OF THE SHOW WAS BEYOND REPROACH. I WAS THER FOR 3 HRS AND DID NOT HEAR ONE FOUL WORD, AMAZING. THE SEATS ARE A LITTLE SMALL AND THE LARGE NUMBER OF SENIOR CITIZENS WOULD DO BETTER AT A SMALL VENUE, HALF THE SEATS WERE EMPTY. THE SHOW IS LONG, MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR FOOD EARLY THEY RAN OUT AT SOME LOCATIONS. DID NOT USE MY FREE HOT DOG AND SODA TICKETS AS THE CONCESSION STAND RAN OUT OF CARRIERS.
