Band did and always does an amazing job. Happy Birthday Phil!!!
A special evening. BDay celebration for real. Everyone raised their game in tribute to Phil's 84th circle around the sun. Box of Rain and Eyes of the World had special meaning tonight. What a treat; being invited to Phil's party! Had to pay for invite but, as they say, priceless. Next? Happy 85th in advance Phil. Thanks for 53 years of smiles...so far.
great set list. sweet set openers (west l. a. fadeaway for 1st set, and st stephen 2nd set). even better set closers (rippin’ & rockin’ ripple for 1st set, and sax infused shakedown street for 2nd set). low point was amy helm’s massacre of stella blue, (but w any jerry tune, the bar is very high).
Love Phil ❤️❤️ His band was outstanding, Amy so special. Best show!!
Love this venue. Phil Lesh and Warren Haynes never disappoint. We had GA and danced the entire time. Sound quality is amazing.
Phil Lesh and the Q did not disappoint. The Monday show was great, the Wednesday show was epic. Such a treat to see this configuration that was so good back in the early 2000's. They proved again that it is the best post Jerry Garcia interpretation of the grateful Dead music.
The Phil Lesh shows with the Q at the Capitol in Port Chester NY on 3/4 and 3/6 were absolutely outstanding. Phil and the Q composed of the outstanding musicians Warren Haynes, Rob Barraco, John Molo, and Jimmy Herring painted a musical tapestry of Grateful Dead music that drove the capacity crowd into a rocking frenzy the whole evening. Thanks Phil and the Q you were fantastic.
I have been going spring and fall to the Phil shows at the Capital since 2015 or so This show was oversold the crowd wanted to talk rather than listen so it was just lousy people falling over creating security to run around the whole first set “ putting out fires” The quintet played really well it reminded me of the late nineties when Phil and friends would play a double bill with the ABB and Warren would play the whole night Great setlist too But the over selling of tickets crowd noise and the confiscating of umbrellas made for a sad night It was a high school assembly gone wrong
Can’t recommend the Capitol Theater more highly! Such a special place.
Glad I got $79 tix but the cost for Phil has skyrocketed and only worth it if decent friends on the bill. At this point that's when he rolls out the Quintet. Sorry but the costs for his son and merry brand of B squad shouldn't be priced above $50. Venue needs better ventilation too.
What a show........ the guys were on Fire. So glad to see Phil again. He is surrounded with awesome talent. Warren was amazing. Everyone really stepped up. Loved it.
Phil’s ability to bring together great musicians with a little rehearsal and perform amazing music is always a joy. We should be thankful for the time he has spent with us and made inspirational music.
Saw “The Q” last night and if it wasn’t for Jimmy and Warren, Phil would’ve been lost. If ya need or want to see Phil , I would do it fast, not sure how much longer he will be putting that bass on. Sad but true.. Word on the street he needs a kidney.
sometimes it's not the movie itself but the talent the actors bring to a movie. we these players (actors) in the phil lesh "Q"are each outstanding in their own right. when you put them together great magical things can happen. the magic does not happen on every song and every moment but for those moments that the magic happens it is really on another level. completely enjoyed the show and the capital is always nice and easy
What a great show!!! All Star Band! Warren and Jimmy clearly enjoy playing together!
Oh my what an awesome show. They were on Fire Monday night. Warren Haynes was in great form as were Jimmy , Rob , and John and Phil is still as fresh as can be with his playing and vocals . I’ve been a Deadhead since my first show in 69 and continue to be inspired and thrilled at every event I go to . The Cap is a great venue. ❤️🙏🏻🐝Love and Gratitude ❤️🙏🏻🐝
I've seen the Dead since 1969, and I've seen Phil several times notably his Halloween shows at the Cap, and most have been really good. This one with Warren and Jimmy was not. It was just guitarists playing aggressively, there was no subtlety ( I did leave after the 2nd song after intermission- and regret not staying for Cucamonga) It sounded like a wannabee cover band- good technically but not the right feeling, and the sound was bad, well it was loud for those that like that Stood in the same spot- way back on floor- for DSO 6 months ago and the sound was superb.
Phil brought us back…just for tonight. Of course, that was the perfect setting. The music was faithful to the history of the Grateful Dead while featuring some new songs that were incredible.
The band was great. Eric Krasno on guitar is a particularly good choice for Phil! I have NEVER seen the Fillmore so oversold. If the Fire Marshall had walked in, the show would have been over. The crowd was shoulder to shoulder from front to back with no room for anyone to move let alone dance. I hope the venue and the band will be more prudent in their treatment of their fans.
Took 90 minutes to get in and venue oversold. Will not be paying to see Phil at Fillmore again when it’s clear he needs to be playing a larger venue - or - insisting the venue does not oversell so they can actually handle check-in.
