Phil looked healthy and happy, incredible energy from the stage, the boys ROCKED!!! They really enjoyed each other on stage. Seemed to be a number of parallels in songs chosen an being at the Rose. Awesome people in attendance, meet lots of new friends. I would like to thank "Wharf Rats" for their attendance and support, Peace out from Dirk T. Houston, TX

  • Another Classic Phil Show

    by rayski58 on 11/15/12Roseland Ballroom - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

A first set of upbeat tunes that had a feel of Mardi Gras. Touch of Gray, Ruben & Cherise, Ramble on Rose, and Love Each Other got it going. Stanley Jordan sat in for the full show and started to turn it on during Here Comes the Sun. In the second set Mr Jordan started to really get involved with great leads on Fire on the Mountain and Eyes of the World before fading into an amazing instrumental of Somewhere Over the Rainbow. As Stanley hit the last notes the band stopped and all applauded him. It was that good.

I have been to over 50 concerts this year seeing everyone from Bruce down to obscure bands but Phil and his boys absolutely blew the roof off. I was so impressed I must go see more shows to see if this was a one time or they can do it again

  • Phil and Friends Never Disappoint!!

    by PartyMarty1005 on 11/14/12Roseland Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I decided to see this show last minute. I needed a break from the grind of a trade show I had been doing for the past few days. What better way to release tension than Phil!!! Well, from what I heard about the show the night before, I was in for a real treat!! Stanley Jordan played with the boys the whole show and he is one of my favorite guitar players. Emotion exudes from his fingers and his unorthodox playing method fits in well with the songs. John was superb and Jackie Greene adds a cool bliuesy feel to every song. I love Joe Russo on drums because he can reinterpret these siongs that were originally played with two drummers and sound like he has 4 arms!!! and Phil's bass playing has never been better! really was a sweet show and I am so happy I went.
