Peter Frampton on Tour
With the Peter Frampton Finale: The Farewell Tour, an iconic figure in rock takes the stage for one last round in 2019. Commencing June 18 in Tulsa and ending October 12 in San Francisco, the tour follows the singer and guitarist's announcement of his retirement due to his battle with inclusion body myositis (IBM), a progressive muscle disorder.
It makes for a poignant occasion for any fan whose life has been touched by Frampton's songs in the five decades since the singer and guitarist first earned renown as the teenage frontman for Humble Pie and became one of the biggest sensations of the 1970s.
The evening will be a celebration first and foremost. The music legend always has been warm and engaging in signature songs like "Baby, I Love Your Way" and "Do You Feel Like We Do," and he wouldn't have it any other way. For the new tour, Frampton performs alongside his longtime bandmates Rob Arthur (keys, guitar, vocals), Steve Mackey (bass), Adam Lester (guitar), and Dan Wojciechowski (drums).
Peter Frampton Background
From co-founding one of rock's first supergroups while still a teenager to releasing the most famous live album of all time, Peter Frampton has had many milestones in a career that began in the London borough of Bromley in the early ‘60s. Inspired by heroes like Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran, the young guitarist began his musical pursuits as an adolescent alongside David Bowie, an older classmate who became his lifelong friend.
By the time he was 16, Frampton was having his first hits with The Herd. When only 18, he co-founded Humble Pie with Steve Marriott of Small Faces and Spooky Tooth's Greg Ridley. The group's mix of hard rock and progressive styles made them a pioneer of heavy metal.
After going solo in 1971, Frampton toured tirelessly in the U.S. His efforts paid off in 1976, when Frampton Comes Alive! became a phenomenon. Topping the Billboard charts for 10 weeks, it sold eight million copies and spawned three smashes in "Baby, I Love Your Way," "Show Me the Way," and "Do You Feel Like We Do."
Later career highlights included playing guitar on David Bowie's Glass Spider tour, winning a Grammy in 2007 for Best Pop Instrumental Album, and touring with a who's who of other six-string heroes as Frampton's Guitar Circus in 2013. Released in 2016, Acoustic Classics featured new performances of many of his best-known songs, including a few favorites from Frampton Comes Alive!

I have been a fan since a solo concert 50 years ago. He never disappoints. Amazing guitar playing, super band, awesome lighting, nice venue.
Peter can still shred. His voice is still beautiful. His band not only is talented but they were enjoying every minute of performing. They played for almost 2 1/2 hours straight. Peter Frampton put on the best show…hope he makes it into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame!
We saw Peter last night in Omaha Nebraska, what a meaningful and emotional show that was! I have never witnessed a show where an artist pretty much went through his whole life stages of playing music. The issues, Mr. Frampton is going through with his health. He told a story I truly believe he will be done touring. At the end of the show, he stood there by himself and soaked up the crowds energy thanking him for the music he’s put out in his lifetime! What an excellent band he has!! Peter Frampton and his band rocks!
EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE. Would go to see him again tonight if he was playing here again!
Peter put his heart onto his performance! Rob Arthur was a class act showman.
Peter is such an exceptional talent as well as the members of his band. Packed auditorium of loving fans. What a fabulous concert!
OMG! Frampton still has it! We rocked out the whole time! What a great concert! I would go again!
A night of Peter Frampton and his band was fabulous. His guitar playing is par to none!
Peter and the band where fabulous! He was engaging and his Vocal’s were great! All and all made it a magical night. Loved the show!
Peter's show was most enjoyable. He and his band kept us tappin and clappin the whole night thru. I mostly enjoyed his persona and interaction with the crowd. He so deserves to be in the Rock-n-Roll hall of fame !!
Been to many shows for rockers of his era and this was one of the best. Played well, sang well, and was great talking to the crowd. Peter and the band truly looked like they were having a blast playing together. Sang mostly his own songs including an amazing 19 minute version of Do You Feel Like We Do. Started about 15 minutes after the scheduled start time and played for 2 and a half hours straight.
What Peter Frampton has lost in his mobility he has not lost a thing with his voice or his guitar playing or his presentation or his wit. The State Theatre was a nice intimate venue to see him and I would recommend if you have the chance you should see him. My husband saw him in 1977 and said the current performance did not disappoint. The other arists on stage brought it big time.
It was an amazing concert! Was not disappointed!!! Everyday I am putting in a vote for Peter to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!! He totally deserves it.😊
The reason for spending the money on the tickets was driven by my hope of exposing my oldest grandson to the artistry of my era. He has played acoustic guitar for a few years and added electric this year. Peter was one of many that I spent time and money on during my the later years of high school and college and I had hoped he would showcase in this concert his multiple levels of talents. He did not disappoint, from the first song, I mentioned his voice and artistry/mastering of the guitar was as good or better than I remembered from the times I had seen him live in my youth. He gave my 14 year old grandson and the rest of my family the highest quality show we could have asked for. Peter has surrounded himself with equally talented people that brought their A game to the stage. Thank you for a great solid performance, as luck would have it we were not only in the 4th row (yes by design) but my grandson was directly in front of where Peter sat, and no one sat in the 3rd row seat in front of him, he was able to see the finger movements of an artist and the also look to the right of the backstage at the pre-work the staff did on each guitar that was switched out through-out the show, what an example of teamwork, everyone's actions contributed to the success of the evening. Bravo, thank you for showing my grandson and my family an example of how people can work together to accomplish great things, which is something we need far more of in today's world.
Peter Frampton’s concert at the State Theater was a fantastic show! I have seen him in concerts in the 70s, up at Grand Casino in 2019 and I must say he put on the best show ever in Mpls considering his long journey in rock and roll and his medical issues he has dealt with! Peter is so personable in his shows and has excellent rapport with his audience. His band is excellent and his own guitar skills and mesmerizing voice has not faltered! Frampton to his credit put on a three hour musical journey and ended with Humble Pie… his beginnings! The State Theater is an excellent concert venue as always and the staff there is the best! Peter’s musical talents have been a shining beacon to the Rock and Roll World and surely now is his time to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!
Peter Frampton and his band are so very talented. I am so happy that in spite of Peter's health, he can still play his guitar and his voice is just awesome! Don't miss this show!
This venue allows for an intimate experience with the performers. The sound system is acoustically sound which allowed for a note for note, lyric for lyric accuracy. Overall one of the best shows we've been to in years.
Peter's voice was in good shape, and the musicianship was excellent! It was also fun how he talked and joked with the audience, and he seemed totally at home. The State Theatre is an excellent venue for just this kind of night. I look forward to seeing him again before he wraps up his tour. I highly recommend to others to see him as well!
The Genesee theater is a wonderful venue. The sound is always so dialed in Peter put on a great show. He still car play sing an rock likes he’s 20 years old
I’ve been a Peter Frampton fan since the seventies. The show far exceeded my expectations. I knew the show would be great, but it was perfection! He played and sang as good as ever!
