About

Peppa Pig on Tour

Since debuting in 2004, Peppa Pig has become the most famous snout in children's entertainment this side of Miss Piggy. For many toddlers, the British cartoon series is their first binge-watching obsession, thanks to its simple yet colorful animation, bite-sized, five-minute storylines (sample episode title: "Muddy Puddles" — and yes, it's about nothing more than jumping in muddy puddles), and straightforward dialogue that even a three-year-old can easily follow. And for parents, the sound of precocious Peppa, her tantrum-prone little brother George, their bumbling Daddy, and mild-mannered Mommy cackling together at the end of each episode has become so omnipresent, it's as if a whole ‘nother family of relatives has moved into the house. Like most successful children's franchises, Peppa Pig is a merchandising machine, and has spawned offshoot books, films, and even its own amusement park in the U.K. And in recent years, Peppa has stepped off the little screen and onto the big stage in Peppa Pig's Surprise! This live theatrical spectacular re-creates Peppa's world with the help of large life-sized puppets on wheels, costumed characters, and a cheerful headset-sporting host named Daisy who guides you through this pastoral fantasyland. You'll see Peppa partaking in her favorite activities — like going on road trips with her family, meeting with the beloved Mr. Potato, and enjoying a bubble bath after another glorious day spent splashing in the mud puddles. But Peppa Pig's Surprise! differs from the TV show in a significant way: It's a musical experience, with Daisy leading Peppa and friends through a series of boisterous song-and-dance numbers. Oh, and there's another big difference between Peppa Pig's Surprise! and its cartoon counterpart: You can't just watch it slumped in your seat like you would at home during a marathon TV session. This is a highly interactive experience, with Daisy encouraging the kids in the crowd to sing, dance, and play along. Just pretend the theater floor below your feet is a muddy puddle and get hopping.

I liked it because the music was really good and loud.

Good but not worth the $

by SP on 12/12/23Tilles Center Concert Hall - Brookville

Theater was great but not worth the $. The parents were fully costume but Peppa and George were rolled around on Dollie’s. Too loud and couldn’t understand the story line. Also it was advertised as 60 min, started 15 minutes late but after 30 minutes, was a 20 minute intermission and then another 30 minutes. Thought it would be 60 min straight through. Plus the vendors selling things weren’t the nicest.

    Horrible

by Roxanna on 12/12/23Tilles Center Concert Hall - Brookville

Don’t waste your money. This show is so bad. The sorry line did not keep my Peppa fanatic daughters attention and the intermission was longer than the show. There were minimal characters but the story did not relate to the show so the kids were disinterested

    Underwhelming

by Katie on 12/4/23Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

We were disappointed and underwhelmed by the show. The tickets were way overpriced for the experience. My kids never want to leave shows early, but this one they did not push back when I suggested we head out early. They were bored the entire time.

    Not Too Impressed

by KZ on 12/2/23Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

I was shocked to see that the characters were being pushed by people versus people dressed up in character (aside from Mum, Dad and Gazelle aka grown up characters). Also, there was a 20 minute intermission after 30 minutes of show and the show is only an hour. As a show geared towards toddlers, this seems absurd. It was also so loud, most of the time I didn’t even know what they were saying or singing. Disappointed to say the least.

    Not worth the money

by Julie on 12/1/23Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

Very disappointed about the show. No good storyline. Just some random singing and moving around. Kids did not enjoy it either. We were assigned to the seats that not what I purchased. Definitely not worth the money.

    Waste of money

by Larisa on 12/1/23Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

This was the worst childrens show I have ever seen after 30 minutes they took a 25 minute break all together only performing an hour used cheap puppets as the characters instead of people in costumes everything was done so poorly and this was a big disappointment for the $320 I paid for 3 tickets

Always look for entertainment opportunities to take family

by Jawnie on 12/1/23Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

Bad idea to have an event during the school week and take a 30 minute intermission break after only performing for thirty minutes—had we been aware of this, we would never have attended. Additionally, the props looked worn and well used—disappointing

    Mediocre

by Geezy on 11/30/23BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

Was disappointed that the characters were glorified puppets. Expected costumes vs people pushing puppets around. A 20min intermission for an hour long production was unnecessary. My kids lost interest and were hard to entertain during those 20min. Would rather have watched it in one sitting. My kids loved it though.

    Awful experience

by Kayla on 11/30/23BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

Never will go watch Peppa pig live again. Terrible, terrible. So cheaply done and you spend a lot of money on these tickets. They could have at least made Peppa pig and George into costumes like the others. My four year old got bored with it within 5 minutes of it stating.

    Disappointed

by Andrea on 11/28/23Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

The VIP experience was a total rip off. $120 for someone to use my phone to take 5 pictures of my grandchild in front of a desk seated by Peppa pig and two other characters. Children weren’t even able to get up close. Very disappointed!

    Our Grandson Loved It !!

by Irv on 11/28/23Lillian S. Wells Hall at The Parker - Ft Lauderdale

Great for young kids already familiar with the characters and the songs. Only downside was the 20 minute intermission was just too long for the kids. Many left during the intermission and our grandson was a lot less interested by the second act. We also left early. I'd suggest a shorter version of the show without any breaks.

    Fantastic!

by LP on 11/27/23Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater - St Petersburg

The show was so well done! All the kids just loved it. They were dancing and jumping and singing and having the best time. They were so excited it was like they were at a Beatles concert! The show was so cute, all the characters were present, it was just a happy and joyful time. If you have a little one that loves Peppa, please take them. My little friend is still talking about it.

    Very disappointing

by TN Girl on 11/27/23Tennessee Theatre - Knoxville

Absolute disappointment!!!! Not all character’s were in costume, the main character Peppa was nothing but an oversized puppet pushed around on stage. Our 20 month old was more entertained with the kids behind us throwing their Peppa plush back and forth than she was the show, we left after intermission and wasn’t the only family that did! Don’t waste your money.

I had planned on Taking my special needs kiddo as she still enjoys Peppa Pig, but unfortunately, she got sick the morning of the date so we did not get to go! And, No, I did not get the ticket insurance!

    An intermission? Really?

by Gregg on 11/25/23Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater - St Petersburg

Our 3 YO daughter liked the show but they had a 20 min intermission 30 min after they started. Supposedly this was a 60 min show in total. Somewhat of a cash grab for more merchandise and food. We had to leave as there was no way to keep her sated. This happened in Paw Patrol as well. If you have a toddler that can’t deal with long delays I would avoid these shows.

    Lame Characters

by Rick on 11/22/23Tennessee Theatre - Knoxville

Probably okay for the kids, but Peppa was a puppet on wheels with a person standing behind and operating "her". The father was a real person in costume and that worked much better, but most of Peppa's friends were just puppets on wheels. Plus there was a 20 minute intermission that was way too long to keep the kids happy.
