We didn't want it to end!! Definitely one of the best concerts I've ever been to. My husband and I took our 11-year-old, and our moms -- and everyone loved it!!!
The Pentatonix had tons of energy, and wow are they talented! What a great show!
Simply the best!!! The most talented group ever! Acapella singing is far more difficult to pull off than any other form of music and they pulled it off flawlessly! The new show's effects and lighting are very well thought out and add so much to the overall experience. I could not ask for a better concert - the only bad part? It ended...
Wow! I recently got into Pentatonix from my girlfriend and i've been following all their youtube items. I was hoping to not be disappointed by them in person and I definitely was not!! They were absolutely amazing and it's the best concert i've been to. I don't need any cool dancing or instruments. It's all pure singing! It was highly impressive and would love to see them again.
Amazing opening with the Daft Punk medley. They do a nice job of featuring the less central members (Kevin, Avi) since they usually end up in the back or sides of each song. Kevin beat boxed while playing the cello, which was super unexpected and amazing. Anyone could appreciate this music. They did a brand new cover of "Say something" that was absolutely phenomenal. The choreography was a bit off, but we went to one of their first shows of this tour. It wasn't overly distracting, just something I noticed. The sound in this theater was amazing. When Avi hit the low notes you felt it in your chest. Kevin's beat boxing sounded like actual music. I can't say enough good things about this show. It really has something for everyone.
This is a great show. Innovative and Creative and great for all ages. Its great to see how much fun these young performers have and see how much they must truly enjoy performing for the audience. I'm so glad they have this chance to perform and I'm so glad I saw this show!
they really showed up for their fans. they started on time, laughed and joked with the crowd, they sang the favorites as well as a few extras, and kept us all entertained. the part where the beat boxer performed on the cello . . . while beat boxing . . what?!?! . . was easily one of the neatest live music experiences i've ever had. way to go Pentatonix! i'll be back
Pentatonix is an amazing group and they are incredibly talented! I had so much fun and I really hope they come back to the area. My only minor gripe is that the bass was too loud, but I still had an incredible time and it didn't take away from a great concert experience and the talent level of Pentatonix.
Pentatonix never disappoints. They are incredibly talented and always entertaining. Thank you so much.
Pentatonix was very entertaining. The show was diverse in that they involved the audience, highlighted individual group special talents and they were funny!
The group has some chops. I think the girl was sick-coughing a lot and didn't say much. I'm a chorus teacher so I'm a little more critical of the singing. It was great then it was off - wash rinse repeat. Lots of energy but they were tired - we were last night of tour. The beat box/cello stole the show!!
Amazing show! Loved these guys ! My only regret is that I didn't take my 8 year old son. Was a little worried about the " bar" type setting at the HOB, but it was fine.
This was one of the best concerts I have been to in years. Pentatonix is even better in person!!! The show was fun. The music was AWESOME. I didn't even mind that it was a venue with no seats.
Pentatonix was everything and more than I could have hoped for. However, the venue, The Norva, was a huge disappointment. Perhaps I should have known that there are no seats in the Norva but my wife and I drove from Pennsylvania to Virginia Beach for the concert only to find out there that we would have to stand for the entire concert. We are both 59 years old and we loved Pentatonix but we were not prepared at all to stand for 3 hours (we arrived over an hour early to get "good seats" for the General Admission only concert). I know this is supposed to be a review of Pentatonix. I give them 5 stars or ten if I could. However, the event was a disappointment since we feel mislead by the Norva. Their website should state clearly that there are no seats. Would I have still attended if I'd known there were no seats? I probably would have but I'd have been better prepared.
I knew that Pentatonix was good as my wife and I had seen them perform on TV's "Sing Off", but I did not realize that I would be blown away by seeing them perform in person. I am surprised to say that this was probably the best concert I have ever been to! Yes, better than all of the big name bands that I have ever seen. What made it even better was that the Norva is a smaller venue so you can see the group better and it lends itself to providing high energy during the performance. Everyone that I talked to after the concert was raving about it as well. I will be back if they return.
Pentatonix is everything you read about in the flyer. These kids can FLAT OUT sing and most remarkable for me is that they are better LIVE than they were on TV or Youtube.. and that's really saying something. I surprised my 19 & 9 year old by zooming down from Northern Virginia to Norfolk to see the group perform. They loved it - and fortunately for ME, the show was family friendly. The Norva itself was a FANTASTIC venue and they have a link from their website that shows that when Rolling Stone named them the best place to see a show in America. The acoustics are outstanding and with a place that holds about 1500, there were plenty of good places to be to see the show. It IS a standing General Admission place, but nonetheless it was still a great place to see a show. The staff was COURTEOUS and fast and I couldn't be more pleased about how professional they were. This was a great experience and I would definitely go to both Pentatonix AND the Norva again.
The show was outstanding in an intimate and fun venue. Pentatonix really enjoy interacting with the audience.
Pentatonix the group who won the Sing Off, has grown so much in the last two years! I saw them preform in Dec of 2012 and the difference between then and the July 27th 2013 concert was not only the stage it's self but also the group. They are actually wonderful performers, talented singers and a great stage presences. Only bad thing the Nova was to small, people needed to be able to sit in chairs and not stand for the whole thing..
Pentatonix is worth the money. I would go see them again.
Freakin' awesome!!! They are fantastic!! They really know how to entertain the crowd.
