About

Pentatonix are a three-time Grammy Award-winning a cappella group from Arlington, Texas. Their breakthrough came when they won the third season of NBC’s The Sing-Off in 2011, and they gained further recognition by uploading videos to their YouTube channel. The quintet has sold over 10 million albums worldwide, with two No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200: Pentatonix (2015) and the platinum-certified A Pentatonix Christmas (2016). Consisting of singers Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kristin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola and Matt Sallee, Pentatonix have been invited to perform everywhere from The White House to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. They’ve collaborated with artists such as Kelly Clarkson and Lindsey Stirling, and performed with Dolly Parton on her classic hit “Jolene,” which earned Pentatonix a Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance in 2017. The talented singers regularly perform in sold-out arenas worldwide, and have toured with acts like Kelly Clarkson, Rachel Platten and Echosmith.

    Pentatonix: Incredible Live!!!

by Anonymous on 12/20/12Aladdin Theater - Portland

Such incredible talent in just five individuals is worth seeing over and over. Would recommend to anyone who is passionate about great music and loves creative, out-of-the-box experiences. Loved the intimate venue as well! Great job everyone! :)

The venue, artist, and overall experience was amazing! I live in Baltimore and made the trip to DC on a Wednesday night and it was well worth the travel! I would go to Howard theater again AND I would go see Pentatonix again in a heartbeat! :)

    Pentatonix comes to T.O.

by ZzmanzZ on 12/11/12The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

Amazing concert, likely the best concert I have ever seen. Great sound, engaged the audice and had a lot of fun. A bit of a wait until they came on stage, but work the wait. I would go see them anything, can't wait for them to come back!

I felt like a little kid, I loved it so much!

    by Sarahej77 on 12/10/12Variety Playhouse - Atlanta

They sound just like they do on TV and their records. They were very personable and interactive. I loved it and am sad they don't have another stop in Atlanta or surrounding states for their tour next year. Would recommend anyone go see them, you won't be disappointed.

Wanted to hear singing, not a rock concert

    by Craig1838 on 12/9/12Howard Theatre - Washington

Went with a group of friends (6), all acapella singers. I went expecting to be able to hear five great voices together. But the amplification was WAY overdone. Oppressively so. They are all SO talented. It's a shame that talent couldn't be appreciated because of the volume. And their producer was supposedly running sound. Unbelievable. Overall, I was disappointed because of this fact alone. Great people, great venue, poorly produced performance, in my opinion.

    A. May. Zing.

by Rhienne on 12/7/12Howard Theatre - Washington

If you've only seen Pentatonix on TV or YouTube, you really have no idea. Their energy and talent is even more apparent in their live shows. The production values are low - it's not a lights and pyrotechnics performance - but their vocals are so on point you won't miss it. The set included favorites from The Sing Off, tracks from the PTX Volume 1 EP as well as a tune or two from the new Christmas album. Angels We Have Heard On High was a particular highlight with Avi actually singing a verse with his beautiful bass. Mitch's solo on Dog Days Are Over was crystal clear and dead on pitch. Scott, Kirstie and Kevin all had their own fantastic moments as well. It says a lot that with a group of five, there's no weak links. Everyone works just as hard and has their fair share of the spotlight. They were onstage non-stop for an hour and a half with just as much energy on the encore as the opening number. A fantastic show.

Pentatonix are out of this world

    by Drowsy888 on 12/7/12Howard Theatre - Washington

You need to see them live to understand how absurdly awesome their dubstep acappella is. I highly recommend it.

    simply amazing

by Anonymous on 12/7/12Howard Theatre - Washington

This group has not been together long, so I was impressed that they already put on such an awesome all-around show. I was pleasantly surprised at the length - they have a lot of material already, and all of it is tight. They are great performers and know how to work the crowd and get them involved. Plus, the vocal fireworks are incredible. The crowd was obviously made up almost entirely of a cappella and choir geeks, so it was an instant love-fest going both ways. One of my favorite concerts that I've been to in a long time. The opening act was not well-suited to them - a solo singer-songwriter with a guitar who played mostly slow songs. The music was fine - it just wasn't the right table-setter for a high-energy show. He was also not as polished with his remarks, so the rapport suffered.

    Pentatonix at the Howard Theatre

by NDWolfwood on 12/7/12Howard Theatre - Washington

The Pentatonix show at the Howard Theatre on Dec. 5 was outstanding the group was full of energy and really engaged the audience. The food was of a great quality though better before the bands started going on.

    Loved Them!

    by G3nutz on 12/7/12Howard Theatre - Washington

Pentatonix was great as expected. I also enjoyed by first visit to the Howard. A very nice space, the only downside was the sound was excessively loud for an a Capella show.

    Pentatonix was unreal!

by Esquirebabe on 12/7/12Howard Theatre - Washington

I still have a hard time believing there are only 5 voices on that stage, but I know it's true. Crazy talented people -- with a truly entertaining show. If they come to your neck of the woods, you'd be stupid not to go. Great night out!

    A Must See!

    by 4Smiths on 12/3/12Variety Playhouse - Atlanta

Our family fell in love with Pentatonix on the Sing Off and have followed them ever since. We were even more impressed with their musical talent in person than on TV or via You Tube. Each member of this group is truly gifted and listening to them live is amazing. Their performance inlcuded a good mix from the Sing Off, their debut album and even a song from their latest release PTXmas.
