Lovely Evening with exceptions.

The only negative comment I have is that the entire repertoire was not condusive for the excitement that should have been displayed on New Year's Eve. The program seemed to be designed for the enjoyment of the orchestra in that the selections were those that appeared to what the members loved playing most whereas the music should have leaned more to the anticipation of the audience who, at least I, would have preferred a lighter and more whimsical presentation. Perhaps an example of what would have been more appreciated would have taken the approach of The Boston Pops--light and lively and less serious and somber--at least on this night.
