About

Penn & Teller On Tour

Not exactly comedians but more than just magicians, Penn & Teller bring a quirky combination of laughs and illusions to every performance. You're ready to laugh before they even trot out their tricks, with the big, brash Penn Jillette towering over his staid, unspeaking partner Teller. And once they dip into the bag of tricks they've been perfecting since the 1970s, you're simultaneously dazzled and delighted. Whether they're working with things like magic bullets, nail guns, and straitjackets, or just employing a seemingly ordinary deck of cards to demonstrate some sleight of hand, the duo can make you doubt your own senses as they appear to make the impossible happen right before your eyes. Sometimes they toss a touch of danger into the mix, and sometimes they simply play the whole thing for laughs, but whatever illusion they're unveiling, Penn & Teller can always pull it off.

Penn & Teller Background

America's most famous magic/comedy duo actually started out as a trio in the '70s, but when third member Weir Chrisemer left in 1981, Penn Jillette and Raymond Teller (who has always gone by just his surname) continued on together, and it was then that their star began to rise. With TV appearances on such shows as Late Night With David Letterman and Saturday Night Live, a series of Broadway shows, and their own Emmy-winning special on PBS, Penn & Teller carved out a niche in show business and became household names in the process. In the years that followed, they became TV personalities in their own right, first with a Showtime series and then with Fool Us on the CW. They've earned their own star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. They've appeared in music videos by Run-DMC and Katy Perry. They've established a record-breaking residency in Las Vegas. And throughout all of these accomplishments, Penn & Teller have shown that a big, loud guy and a small, silent guy can make people gasp and guffaw at the same time.

  • An unconventional magic show

by Anonymous on 6/13/12The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - WindsorRating: 5 out of 5

This show was absolutely fantastic. Penn and Teller have excellent showmanship and stage presence, and they constantly keep the audience laughing. Their act included lots of variety, and they also did a great job of using audience participation in their tricks. A very non-standard and entertaining magic show!

First time to see Penn & Teller and first time at Cesars Windsor. These guys are incredible. I wouldn't have believed it if I had seen it on tv but we seen it live and still don't know how they did the things they did.

I took my father, a huge magic enthusiast to see Penn and Teller and he (nor I) was not disappointed. They are superb magicians and great gents, even taking the time to sign autographs and have photos with fans after the show.

This is the second time seeing Penn and Teller, and we were afraid we would be seeing their Vegas show again. We were pleasantly surprised to see many different tricks and illusions from what we saw in Vegas. Great show as always. These guys are a must see. They continue to amaze. Every time I see them, I like them even more!

New perspective on a magic show. A kind of back stage magic. See if you can figure out how I amused you. Entertaining! They chose a lot of people from audience. Sit close and you have a good chance of being part of the act. After the show if you would like to meet them they are very available. My husband loved this show!

Even though I had seen Penn and Teller in Vegas, I was excited to see them at the Venue. They put on an amazing show. It was a bit different than their Vegas show. They do a meet and greet after their show.

Great show and great seats. Plenty of surprises. Don't know how they do their stunts.

  • Penn & Teller = Perfection inside or out of Vegas

by Zahrobsky on 6/12/12Horseshoe Casino - HammondRating: 5 out of 5

I have been very lucky to see Penn & Teller multiple times at the Rio in Vegas. Each time, each show, was an absolutely wonderful experience. But, when they scheduled a tour date for Chicago (Horseshoe in Hammond), we knew that we had to go. No, we didn't get to see some of the classics like the magic bullet trick or new tricks like, "Helium." But, what we were treated to was a variety of illusions, tricks, and humor delivered with precision and perfection. Of course, afterwards, the guys made it to the lobby and met with each and every fan that waited. Penn & Teller are nothing but class and the best act around. If you are lucky to catch them in your hometown, make sure you don't miss it! And if they don't find their way to you, make sure you find your way to them at the Rio.

  • Classic Penn & Teller

by StevenMattx27 on 6/12/12Harrah's Resort Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 4 out of 5

For those familiar and unfamiliar with Penn & Teller I guarantee you won't be disappointed. The performance was flawless; the tricks were mind-blowing; and, most importantly, the audience played an active rather than passive role during the show.

  • Just Great!!! - The best "Magic Show" Ever!!!!

by Stejimenez on 6/12/12Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Even thou I had seen almost every trick on TV, seing the live on scene is just marvelous. I love the way they mock of magic and super natural powers. Also they are the friendliest celebrities I have ever seen. After the end of show they greet everyone and sign anything you ask.

The show was great. They had a mix of humor and magic that was even better than we hoped for. Their act was very imaginative.

  • Great Show!

by EyeGuy61 on 6/12/12Harrah's Resort Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

These guy's are very entertaining, not a boaring moment in the whole show. I've seen them on TV but the live show is even better.

  • Kept me laughing and guessing

by Shivah on 6/12/12Harrah's Resort Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 4 out of 5

Penn and Teller never fail to entertain. Even while giving away the "secrets" to their tricks they always keep me guessing, trying to figure out how it's done.

  • Very Disappointed

by Vega113 on 6/11/12Harrah's Resort Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 2 out of 5

I was very disappointed in the show that I saw of Penn & Teller at Harrah's Atlantic City. They did mostly slight of hand tricks that only the first 10 rows could see. I thought they would have had more flair with actual full scale magic. If they were going to do only hand tricks, they should have had overhead screens where everyone in the show room could see what they were doing. Also, the ending was so boring. Penn sat there giving a long winded speech about fire eaters that seemed to last forever. My friend that I went with slept through most of the show.

  • First and Last

by Pat77 on 6/11/12Harrah's Resort Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 1 out of 5

Very disappointing show...Thank goodness for Teller, he was at least entertaining. Penn needs to take a pointer from Teller, Speak Less and more magic. The show dragged and magic was nothing out of the ordinary.....next time I'll throw my money into slot machine, at least I would be entertained for the money!

  • Penn and Teller @ Harrah's

by Wyzziwig on 6/11/12Harrah's Resort Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 3 out of 5

The performance was decent (second time seeing P&T) , the seats were not (Harrah's atlantic city, UPPER , Row - L, Seat 617-618). For this type of performance spend the extra $$ and get the closest seats possible. Worth the extra)

  • Don't waste your time or money

by murryann on 6/11/12Harrah's Resort Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 1 out of 5

The show was horrible. Penn talked obsessively on how magic is all illusion and proceeded to tell the audience how all the tricks are done. I didn't go there to HEAR how tricks are done ..I wanted to be entertained and walk out of the show saying WOW how'd they do that? I must say there was one stellar moment when Penn did stop yapping and Teller did a Trick with an audience member and goldfish that was absolutely outstanding but that was the ONLY moment from the entire show that I enjoyed.
