About

Penn & Teller On Tour

Not exactly comedians but more than just magicians, Penn & Teller bring a quirky combination of laughs and illusions to every performance. You're ready to laugh before they even trot out their tricks, with the big, brash Penn Jillette towering over his staid, unspeaking partner Teller. And once they dip into the bag of tricks they've been perfecting since the 1970s, you're simultaneously dazzled and delighted. Whether they're working with things like magic bullets, nail guns, and straitjackets, or just employing a seemingly ordinary deck of cards to demonstrate some sleight of hand, the duo can make you doubt your own senses as they appear to make the impossible happen right before your eyes. Sometimes they toss a touch of danger into the mix, and sometimes they simply play the whole thing for laughs, but whatever illusion they're unveiling, Penn & Teller can always pull it off.

Penn & Teller Background

America's most famous magic/comedy duo actually started out as a trio in the '70s, but when third member Weir Chrisemer left in 1981, Penn Jillette and Raymond Teller (who has always gone by just his surname) continued on together, and it was then that their star began to rise. With TV appearances on such shows as Late Night With David Letterman and Saturday Night Live, a series of Broadway shows, and their own Emmy-winning special on PBS, Penn & Teller carved out a niche in show business and became household names in the process. In the years that followed, they became TV personalities in their own right, first with a Showtime series and then with Fool Us on the CW. They've earned their own star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. They've appeared in music videos by Run-DMC and Katy Perry. They've established a record-breaking residency in Las Vegas. And throughout all of these accomplishments, Penn & Teller have shown that a big, loud guy and a small, silent guy can make people gasp and guffaw at the same time.

  • Jet Lagged but very entertained

by Jet lagged on 5/7/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

We booked the show late as we were meant to be going to another event which was cancelled, however P&T were a huge bonus to our trip. Very entertaining despite our jet lag.

  • Sadly, not worth the time or money!

by Nessa on 5/6/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 1 out of 5

It was an absolute disappointment for 1.5 hours. There wasn’t really a show but a few elementary magic tricks and non-stop talking. I think we may have expected more and we were hugely disappointed. There were a few people who walked out in the middle of the show. The tickets weren’t cheap so we stuck it out in hopes it would get better or end quickly. Neither occurred.

  • More than expected

by James on 5/6/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Going in, did not know what to expect. They even tell you they have been doing this as the longest running show, so you would expect a same-o show. They tell you they change it up and add new stuff all the time. It was great our night. Crowd involvement and laughter.

  • Exceeded expectations

by Sara on 5/1/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

We love magic and Penn & Teller on TV but honestly weren't prepared for how great it would be to see them live. Such a great mix of magic and comedy, would highly recommend this experience. Loved it!

  • Fantastic fun show

by Joe C on 5/1/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I love Penn & Teller so I may be biased but I thought the show was excellent. Great blend of magic and humor as always. the interaction with the crowd was very impressive and entertaining as well. Even the "Liquid Magic"drink I bought for the show was above average for vegas. Not amazing but not bad and it was pretty strong which is more than I can say for a lot of the random frozen cocktails you find around town.

  • Don't miss Penn & Teller!

by Chris (NZ) on 4/30/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

As funny as they are clever with their magical illusions. We took our two teenage kids and we all loved it. If you are going to see a Vegas show, make this the top of your list!

  • Penn & Teller - Vegas

by HJJ on 4/29/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

The show was fantastic as was the theater at the Rio. There are no bad seats in the house. 90 solid minutes of fun, laughter, and overall amusement. Would highly recommend - even my moody 16-yr old laughed the entire time...and the magic tricks are head scratchers. How do you make an elephant that's on stage, surrounded by audience members disappear? How do you literally find a needle in a haystack? I don't know either but they did it.

  • Loved every minute!

by Lynnie Poo on 4/28/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the show! First show of this type for me. I was amazed by some of the tricks they pulled off. Things appeared and disappeared and it left my chin on the ground! Go! You won't be disappointed!

  • Classic

by Heather on 4/26/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

A Las Vegas Classic. Totally entertaining visually and the witty humour is spot on. The piano/bass music at the beginning is a nice little bonus.

  • Entertaining For Me, But Not For All

by bigedthehead on 4/25/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

I found Penn & Teller to be entertaining, but I have an appreciation for magic and the art of deception. On the other hand, I noticed my wife nodding off during the performance and she later told me she found it boring. So I suppose this show is not for everyone.

  • Great show

Smooth show, almost like they've been doing it for decades.

  • A Must See Show

by Sgt Packrat on 4/24/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

An awesome and unique experience. Enjoyably loud and dazzling at times. A merry mix of the on stage / in audience shenanigans that the Blue Men are know for. Do not be late getting to your seat the Blue Men WILL taunt your tardiness.

  • They fooled me!

by Viva LV on 4/23/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

We last saw Penn and Teller about 18 years ago, but knew we had to come back. This time was even better than the first, their show is fluid, cerebral, and funny. I have no idea how they perform the acts, but no need to, it was fun to sit back and enjoy. thank you for your continued interest in magic, and for sharing it with us all this time.

  • Fantastic, I'll be back

by Ash on 4/19/24Penn & Teller Theater at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

10/10 the show was great! There was lots of audience interaction, humor, and a variety of magic. My group of young adults really loved it and talked about bringing our parents to watch it. Penn and Teller are charismatic and a joy to watch
