PBR: Professional Bull Riders on Tour

For a rodeo rider, trying to master a feisty horse is tough enough, a task not to be taken lightly, but bearing down on a big bull increases the scariness quotient considerably. That's one of the things that makes watching a pro bull rider so compelling — it's thrilling and frightening in equal measure as you marvel at the riders' skills while praying that they make it out unscathed.

These days, when it comes to bull riding, it's all about PBR: Professional Bull Riders. The organization started back in 1992 as a grassroots effort spearheaded by a handful of riders with a vision for what the sport could offer to fans. PBR grew by leaps and bounds over the decades, and by the 2010s they were sponsoring three major tours every year, adding up to hundreds of events with millions of dollars in prizes being awarded annually.

Needless to say, attending a PBR event means watching the best bull riders in the business strutting their stuff. Over the years, champs like J.B. Mauney, Kody Lostroh, Justin McBride, Adriano Moraes, Chris Shivers, and Tuff Hedeman have all distinguished themselves as decorated heroes of the PBR, giving all the rest a high standard to which they could aspire. And each of their tours offer fans the opportunity to catch some bull riding history in the making, be it the Unleash the Beast Series that ends with the PBR World Finals in Las Vegas, The Velocity Tour that showcases the rising stars of the PBR, or the Touring Pro Division split into Western, Central, and Eastern regions.

Whichever PBR competition you end up catching, there's one common thread. You're guaranteed to see some world-class athletes reaching deep inside themselves to tap into the best of their talents and give rodeo lovers an unforgettable experience.

Hard to go wrong with an event that starts with an invocation, honors our military and first responders, and gives us something to do as a family. There were 9 of us attending from ages 5 - 62 (3 generations), and we all had a fantastic time. Fast paced, exciting and good natured fun. We will definitely go again.

  • Disappointing

    by T. V. on 1/7/20VyStar Veterans Arena - JacksonvilleRating: 1 out of 5

My seats were 105 A 1-4. Unable to see the bullriders because ppl standing around arena fence with their professional cameras (media?) watching, taking pics of event. $264.00 wasted to see the backside of camera ppl.

Great venue, easy parking, easy getting in. Staff was everywhere and super helpful. Found my seat in minutes.

Great family evening. Lots of hoopla and fanfare. Very well organized.

  • Fun

Not a bad seat in the house at Southpoint Arena. Many of the bull riders are walking around the arena seemingly unnoticed immediately after the event.

  • PBR high velocity VIP experience

by SandraE on 11/6/19South Point Arena at South Point Hotel Casino and Spa - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Enjoyed the event We are returning next year We purchased the VIP experience, which needs improvement There were 40+ participants and not nearly enough time for everything The walk down the arena stairs wasn’t necessary, overview could have been given from above Then had to walk back up, over to where the bull cages were, and back down, with about 10 minutes left for this. The meet and greet with the riders was very nice Reception ran out of food, and unaware that drink tickets were available for a better price than at the bar We will not be doing this again Wasn’t worth the $50 each

  • Love Bull Riding!

by TerriLynn on 11/6/19South Point Arena at South Point Hotel Casino and Spa - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

It’s the most exciting 8 seconds! The bulls were big, mean, and bucked hard! The cowboys did their very best to stay on! The bull fighters did their job admirably! The announcers kept us well informed.

  • Big Fat Boys

by Stan on 11/6/19South Point Arena at South Point Hotel Casino and Spa - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

This is one of the best forms of entertainment. This South Point venue is like Las Vegas used to be.Easey in & out. The only improvements would be is lower the spund system by 900 decibels. The event is always worth the value.

  • Had an amazing time.

Our seats were great. The show was fabulous. I wish I could go to tonight’s show as well.

  • Utter failure of a family outting

by Ruru on 10/29/19Edmonton EXPO Centre - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5

Sadly when we purchased tickets you were not made aware that H was no where near any action. On the picture of the seating chart it did not specify it was a half bowl arena lay out and that we wouldn't be near any of it. Had we known we would have purchased tickets closer to where it all was. Our first time out the event. Sadly disappointed. Our 5 year old little girl did not get to see much. She has been going to rodeos since she was a baby. So it's a big deal for her to sit where she could see. What we could see was good. All in all a poor experience. The food is a story for another time. No one has time for all of that. You pay $6 for a burger and it's cold and has nothing on it but lettuce and soggy tomatoes. No sauce or anything. The lady told us everything is by the drinks...it was not there. No ketchup or sauce for our girls chicken strips and fries either. We were late arriving and it was not even busy or a line up or anything. Not sure if we will be returning.

Had a great time! But the beer was too high and no mixed drinks.

  • First PBR experience

    by B. T. on 10/8/19Big Sandy Superstore Arena - HuntingtonRating: 5 out of 5

We bought VIP tickets...Matt Merritt gave us a fantastic behind the scenes tour...it was kind of one on one tour because one in our party was in a wheelchair...she had the experience of a lifetime...our seats were super..,close enough to get some dirt kicked up on us!

  • Best experience ever

This was one of the best things we ever decided to do. Very entertaining!
