About

Patton Oswalt continues to leave his distinctive imprint across all areas of entertainment, from his award-winning comedy specials to his many guest roles on television. His most recent comedy special We All Scream (which also marked his directorial debut) launched on Netflix last September and Oswalt was recently nominated for a Grammy for his comedy album. Last year, he starred in the Magnolia Pictures comedy I Love My Dad, winner of the Grand Jury and Audience awards at the 2022 SXSW Film Festival.

Oswalt was nominated for a Critics Choice Award for his performance in Jason Reitman's film Young Adult, starring opposite Charlize Theron. In 2009, he also received critical acclaim for his performance in Robert Siegel's Big Fan; the film was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award and Oswalt earned a Gotham Award nomination for his performance.

Oswalt has appeared in many films, including The Circle, alongside Tom Hanks, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Zoolander, both directed by Ben Stiller, Steven Soderbergh's The Informant with Matt Damon, and alongside Seth Rogen in Jody Hill's Observe and Report, as well as Paul Thomas Anderson's Magnolia and Todd Phillips' Starsky and Hutch.

Oswalt's past television work includes memorable roles on Parks and Recreation, which brought him a TV Critics Choice Award, A.P. Bio, Veep, United States of Tara, Seinfeld (his TV acting debut), and many more. He is also very well known for playing 'Spence' on The King of Queens for nine seasons. Oswalt is also the narrator on ABC's hit comedy The Goldbergs.  He provided the voice for 'Remy' the rat in Pixar's Oscar® winner Ratatouille, and his other voice credits include 'Max' in The Secret Life of Pets 2, Sorry To Bother You, the SYFY series Happy!, Rick and Morty, Archer, and BoJack Horseman.

In 2020, Oswalt's Emmy nominated Netflix special I Love Everything was widely applauded upon release, and he received a Grammy nomination for his comedy album of the same name. In 2017, he received Grammy and Emmy nominations for his album and Netflix special Annihilation, which addresses his own devastating loss and dealing with the unexplainable, while making it all painfully funny.  In 2016, he won the Emmy for 'Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special' for his sixth comedy special Talking for Clapping and a Grammy Award in 2017 for his comedy album. He has been nominated for a total of six Grammys and four Emmys. Oswalt has shot eight TV specials and released seven critically acclaimed albums -- in 2009, Patton received his first Grammy nomination for his album My Weakness Is Strong.

  • Great show! Bad acoustics

by Tombo on 7/22/24The Lyric - BaltimoreRating: 4 out of 5

Love Patton Oswalt! Very funny! The Lyric Baltimore had very bad acoustics at our seats. Could not make out anything said. Had to move to worse seats. Unfortunately that put a damper on the event

  • Super clever comedian

We very much enjoyed the show. Patton is quick with the audience and a great story teller. Awesome show!

Patton Oswald is a very talented actor and comedian! His entire show demonstrated the amount of work he puts into his stand up show. VERY Entertaining!!! 5 stars recommend!

  • Phenomenal

by Jmoneymadness on 5/21/24The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Patton was fantastic - it was one of the best standup comedy shows I've been to in ages. He riffed with the crowd and even had call backs to the last time he played the same venue in Detroit.

  • So funny I cried a lot

by Jo on 5/20/24GLC Live at 20 Monroe - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

This man is a treasure. The four of us laughed so much we had to hold on to each other. I had to take off my glasses because they kept fogging up from laughing so hard I cried

  • Patton was fantastic!

by Spartan4Life on 5/20/24GLC Live at 20 Monroe - Grand RapidsRating: 3 out of 5

Patton was awesome and hilarious as usual. I’m giving three stars because Ticketmaster/Live Nation issued tickets saying the show started at 7 pm, but it really started at 8 pm. We drove an hour to go to this show. Left work early, etc. We arrived at the venue at 6:45 and were turned away and told the show wouldn’t be starting for an hour. There was a crowd of pretty annoyed people standing outside in the heat!

  • Patton was hilarious!! Thanks for the great evening!

My wife and I had a blast! Patton was great and I hope you come back to GR again soon!

Patton was hilarious! I would recommend going to see him to anyone who loves comedy.

  • Fantastic show!

    by Oswalt 9/22/23 on 9/26/23Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Great venue, excellent opener and one of the best headliners in the business. I’m so happy to have come out to this show.

  • Patton delivers the funny

by JC on 9/25/23Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

I feel exceptionally grateful for being able to see Patton in such an intimate venue. If you like a guy who can both deliver a well thought out, hilarious bit, AND think on his feet and ad-lib like a ninja, Patton Oswalt is for you. The Birchmere was as solid as always. Good sound, fast food service. We had a great night of well needed laughs.

  • Patton is truly gifted comedian but skip the opening...

by HC on 8/2/22Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Amazing choice of material and of course delivered in a way that only Pine can. Loved every minute of his show but his choice of opening acts I could not agree with. That comic was okay but over the top crude hence the 4 stars

  • Very funny, Way to short. only about one hour long.

by Dan on 7/12/22The Wellmont Theater - MontclairRating: 4 out of 5

I liked the small venue at the Wellmont. I was not happy to have and run my wife's pocketbook back to the car due to it being a few inches oversize. We didn't get the size restriction from anywhere we read online. Funny show but toooo short...

  • I love Oswalt and Welmont!

by Jinski on 7/12/22The Wellmont Theater - MontclairRating: 5 out of 5

I am laughing everyday thanks to Patton Oswalt. He has intuitive, intelligent, humorous & heart-felt stories to laugh at, and it seems like he would probably laugh about the "intuitive & intelligent" remarks. And sometimes he's gross. Historic Welmont Theatre is always beautiful, excellent for experiencing comedy & music, and the staff is polite & professional and adds to an already enjoyable atmosphere. Thank you Welmont Theatre & Patton Oswalt! ~Keeping us on the upside~

  • Venue Great, Set Short

by AndreaIvins on 6/24/22Majestic Theatre Dallas - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

I always love The Majestic Theater for any performance I see in Dallas. I just wish that the set was longer for Robin Tran and then for Patton Oswalt. It didn’t seem like a long enough show at all. Content and laughs were great. I just left wanting more.

  • The talents Patton Oswalt gave another great show

by Michelle B on 6/23/22Majestic Theatre Dallas - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

My favorite part of seeing stand up comedy is when they interact with the audience, and you can tell that Patton Oswalt is truly funny. Patton is smart and capable and gained so many laughs.

  • Patton Oswalt…..great, opener Robin Tran….meh

by Veezo on 6/22/22Majestic Theatre Dallas - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

Patton Oswalt had me laughing from start to finish. His witty observations of what it’s like growing older, his family life, and the world in general never fail to entertain me and get me thinking. Robin Tran, though had her moments, just wasn’t my cup of tea. The humor was more racially charged and seemed to be the bulk of her time on stage. I don’t think making fun of Caucasian people should be any more acceptable than any other race. And to be clear I’m full blooded Mexican.

  • 2 Greats

by Brooks on 6/22/22Majestic Theatre Dallas - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

Patton was his amazing self with a set that reminded me of his tangential musings that dominated his earlier standup shows. I loved seeing his work include his family over the past decade, and it’s still there, but the return to form was also great. Robin Tran, who opened, was incredible with jokes that can’t be stolen and darken up your funny bone in ways people like me can’t get enough of. Amazing show.

  • Love it!!

by Standup Fan on 6/7/22Rating: 5 out of 5

Had a fabulous time watching Patton. He was funny, and the opening comic was super funny too. Definitely had a great time, filled with laughs. Hope he decides to come back in the future!

  • Lovely date night

by Kainiamacleoud on 6/7/22Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - BoiseRating: 5 out of 5

Patton Oswalt was so much fun. How did I get through life without understanding the nuances of a barn full of clown...well, if you were there, you know. Morrison Center is such a lovely venue.
