About

Patton Oswalt on Tour

A comedian, actor, and writer, Patton Oswalt continues to find success in all areas of entertainment. From his award-winning comedy specials to his many memorable film roles and guest appearances on his favorite TV shows (including "Parks and Recreation," for which he received a TV Critics Choice Award), Oswalt continues to choose work that inspires him and entertains audiences.

He recently starred as ‘Principal Durbin' on the NBC comedy "A.P. Bio," produced by Seth Meyers, Mike O'Brien, and Lorne Michaels, and voices the titular character on the hit SYFY series "Happy!". This summer, Oswalt served as the lead voice of ‘Max the dog' in THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS 2.

He provided the voice for ‘Remy', the rat, in Pixar's Oscar-winning RATATOUILLE, and has voiced characters on TV shows such as "Archer," "BoJack Horseman," "The Simpsons," "Bob's Burgers," "Aqua Teen Hunger Force," and "Word Girl." He is also the narrator on ABC's hit comedy "The Goldbergs."

Oswalt has appeared in many films, including THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY, with Ben Stiller, Steven Soderbergh's THE INFORMANT, alongside Seth Rogen in OBSERVE AND REPORT, in Paul Thomas Anderson's MAGNOLIA, ZOOLANDER, STARSKY AND HUTCH, and RENO 911!: MIAMI, among many others.

He was in the film adaptation of Dave Eggers' novel THE CIRCLE, alongside Tom Hanks and Emma Watson, and played one of the "white voices" in the widely-praised indie film SORRY TO BOTHER YOU, the directorial debut of Boots Riley.

Oswalt recently received Grammy and Emmy nominations for his Netflix special "Annihilation," which received critical acclaim as he addresses his own devastating loss and dealing with the unexplainable, while making it all painfully funny. In 2016, he won the Emmy for 'Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special' for his sixth comedy special "Talking for Clapping" (Netflix) and a Grammy Award in 2017 for his comedy album of the same name.

Oswalt was nominated for a Critics Choice Award for his performance in Jason Reitman's film YOUNG ADULT, starring opposite Charlize Theron. In 2009, he also received critical acclaim for his performance in Robert Siegel's BIG FAN; the film was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award and Oswalt earned a Gotham Award nomination for his performance.

On TV, Oswalt had a starring role on Adult Swim's "The Heart, She Holler," was a series regular on Showtime's "United States of Tara" and the Netflix revival of "Mystery Science Theater 3000," recurred on the SyFy series "Caprica," and has had many guest roles on "Veep," "Lady Dynamite," "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," "Parks and Recreation," "Justified," "Two and a Half Men," "Portlandia," "Bored to Death," "Flight of the Conchords," The Sarah Silverman Program," "Tim and Eric's Awesome Show," and "Seinfeld," among others. He is also very well known for playing ‘Spence' on "The King of Queens" for nine seasons. He was also a regular contributor to "Countdown with Keith Olbermann," "Real Time with Bill Maher," and Lewis Black's "Root of All Evil."

As a comedian, Oswalt has shot seven TV specials and released six critically acclaimed albums, including his Grammy-winning Talking for Clapping (which the one-hour special of the same name earned him an Emmy) and Grammy-nominated Tragedy Plus Comedy Equals Time that debuted in 2014. Finest Hour also received a Grammy nomination for "Best Comedy Album," as well as a Showtime one-hour special of the same name. In 2009, Patton received his first Grammy nomination for his album My Weakness Is Strong (Warner Brothers Records).

Oswalt starred in The Comedians of Comedy, which was shot as an independent feature film, a TV series and a long running tour. He tours regularly and extensively, headlining both in the United States, Canada, and the UK. Oswalt also has a regular, bi-monthly show at the new Largo at the Coronet Theater in Los Angeles.

Both of his published books Zombie Spaceship Wasteland (2011) and Silver Screen Fiend (2015) are New York Times Best Sellers. Last year, Oswalt helped publish his late wife Michelle McNamara's true-crime book I'll Be Gone in the Dark (which debuted No. 1 on the New York Times Best Seller List in March 2018) and he'll executive produce the upcoming HBO docuseries based on the book about the Golden State Killer.

    Lovely date night

by Kainiamacleoud on 6/7/22Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

Patton Oswalt was so much fun. How did I get through life without understanding the nuances of a barn full of clown...well, if you were there, you know. Morrison Center is such a lovely venue.

We LOVED IT!!!!!!!! Patton is the best!

by Qjenni on 6/7/22Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

Everything was pretty much perfect— great venue, great opener, and a fantastic show. Patton can play to crowds in Boise, San Francisco, DC, LA— he can make any crowd in any town pretty much pee their pants laughing. He’s a total pro. So much fun to watch! I hope he keeps playing Boise for many years, and if I’m in town, we’ll be there.

    Oswalt I’d fricken brilliant!

by The Dee of all the Tees on 5/12/22Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

I’ve seen all the greats. But no one is quicker on their feet than Patton. Yes, everyone has their set routines, but when Oswalt goes and picks on three unsuspecting audience members it turns to comedy gold! I will hop on the next thing smoking out of town to watch first hand this man:s genius.

by Tamarat on 5/10/22Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

Great show! We've seen Patton before and of course all the specials. He's still sharp as ever, great crowd work. Had the audience shaking with laughter.

Amazing, Hilarious, Good Time for All!

by AnnieCo on 5/10/22Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

Knew Patton was a genius going in to this, but the confirmation was amazing. We laughed so hard, and watching him riff with the audience was so funny. Impressed anyone's brain can work that fast. Highly recommend!

Turned Around At The Door - No Reminders About Vax Cards

by MadInMaine on 4/14/22State Theatre - Portland

Once upon a time, you stood in line at the venue to buy your tickets, sometimes getting there days in advance. You saw all the signs at the venue reminding you of what you could/couldn't/should/shouldn't bring. You had conversations with others in line which reinforced such requirements. For these VERY EXPENSIVE tickets, I was ushered through at least 12 pages on 4 different websites. Starting on the social media platform, I went to the initial landing page, which led to the promoter's ecommerce site for purchase, and finally to TicketMaster to get the tickets on my phone. Exhausting and a little overkill. Nowhere in all those pages within that experience was there any obvious prompt about requirements for entry, nor were there any reminders to check the local venue. It sounds like I'm making excuses, but I'm older and had been through so much rigmarole just to have a QR code ready to show at the door, I completely spaced out on pocketing our vax cards (which I will own). It never crossed my mind. There was ample opportunity to remind me--across pages of seat selections, validations, verifications, money collection, and downloading to phone. We have vax cards for which we stood in long lines multiple times, we would have been really proud to show them. Ultimately, after three months of reminding my wife and planning for the day, it ended abruptly at the door. For the price of these tickets, I would think more effort would go into ensuring we made entry and had a shot at a good experience. I will literally drive the half hour into the city to buy tickets ahead of time, even at a higher price, directly from the venue moving forward.

    Night full of laughter

by Kimbo on 4/13/22The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

Patton was absolutely amazing and funny. The way he interacted with the audience was hysterical. I just kept picturing a big blu rat riding around on a scooter.

One legged man rides into the Chicago Theater…

by Hey You! on 4/12/22The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

I absolutely love Patton! He made me laugh so hard that I almost peed in my pants! He gave the audience an extra treat by going over his time with the house lights on! Thank you Patton!!

    Patton is a legend

by Daniel on 4/12/22The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

Amazing show, legendary performer. During his "autumn decoration" bit, I guffawed so violently I almost broke a rib. Well done, sir.

    Patton the Great

by Jean on 4/12/22The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

What a great guy. Love the way he can talk to ANYONE! His intelligence weaves and bobs around everyday experiences and he’s just cuter than snot! The Chicago theater is cool but the seats are small and I wasn’t comfortable leaning up against the big guy next to me who was also uncomfortable as we both folded our arms in front the entire time. There should have been an empty seat between groups in a pandemic

    Great show in Chicago

by Nick on 4/12/22The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

First time seeing Patton live. Great show and improv with audience members. Hit a low spot imo with the (seemingly endless) riff on the barn joke. Came back for an encore of sorts too.

    Great time

by Julie on 4/3/22State Theatre - Portland

We purchased these tickets last minute while out to eat in the old port and we’re so glad we did! The show was hilarious and very entertaining. State theatre is a great venue and we’re so happy to have these shows locally.

    What a fun night

by Helwna on 3/29/22State Theatre - Portland

Opener was hilarious. Patton was amazingly funny. Just wish it was longer, but I love that he turned his injury into something physical for the act. Would love to go see him again and I can’t wait to see what that young lady opening for him does in the future. She could have a show of her own

    Funny as hell

    by medstaffdir on 3/1/22Rialto Theatre-Tucson - Tucson

He broke his ankle so was on a knee scooter. This only added to the show. I hope he comes back to Tucson - but to The Fox as the seats are much more comfy than Rialto whose seats suck. Love Patton!!

    Better on king of queens

    by Dan on 3/1/22Rialto Theatre-Tucson - Tucson

It was not the best show. Started with the warm up act. Some girl named Olivia gave i think. Her jokes fell about as flat as a pane of glass. So she didn't get me or anybody else excited for the main event. Mr. Oswalt looked like he just came off a 3 day bender, admittedly, he did just break his foot, but maybe put the touring on hold. Glad i saw him in person at least once. Now i know. And knowing is half the battle.

    Meh

    by AngelP on 3/1/22Rialto Theatre-Tucson - Tucson

He should have postponed and healed his broken foot. If he was going out to try new material, it was a miss. I'm a big Patton Oswalt fan, disappointed.
