About

Patton Oswalt continues to leave his distinctive imprint across all areas of entertainment, from his award-winning comedy specials to his many guest roles on television. His most recent comedy special We All Scream (which also marked his directorial debut) launched on Netflix last September and Oswalt was recently nominated for a Grammy for his comedy album. Last year, he starred in the Magnolia Pictures comedy I Love My Dad, winner of the Grand Jury and Audience awards at the 2022 SXSW Film Festival.

Oswalt was nominated for a Critics Choice Award for his performance in Jason Reitman's film Young Adult, starring opposite Charlize Theron. In 2009, he also received critical acclaim for his performance in Robert Siegel's Big Fan; the film was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award and Oswalt earned a Gotham Award nomination for his performance.

Oswalt has appeared in many films, including The Circle, alongside Tom Hanks, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Zoolander, both directed by Ben Stiller, Steven Soderbergh's The Informant with Matt Damon, and alongside Seth Rogen in Jody Hill's Observe and Report, as well as Paul Thomas Anderson's Magnolia and Todd Phillips' Starsky and Hutch.

Oswalt's past television work includes memorable roles on Parks and Recreation, which brought him a TV Critics Choice Award, A.P. Bio, Veep, United States of Tara, Seinfeld (his TV acting debut), and many more. He is also very well known for playing 'Spence' on The King of Queens for nine seasons. Oswalt is also the narrator on ABC's hit comedy The Goldbergs.  He provided the voice for 'Remy' the rat in Pixar's Oscar® winner Ratatouille, and his other voice credits include 'Max' in The Secret Life of Pets 2, Sorry To Bother You, the SYFY series Happy!, Rick and Morty, Archer, and BoJack Horseman.

In 2020, Oswalt's Emmy nominated Netflix special I Love Everything was widely applauded upon release, and he received a Grammy nomination for his comedy album of the same name. In 2017, he received Grammy and Emmy nominations for his album and Netflix special Annihilation, which addresses his own devastating loss and dealing with the unexplainable, while making it all painfully funny.  In 2016, he won the Emmy for 'Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special' for his sixth comedy special Talking for Clapping and a Grammy Award in 2017 for his comedy album. He has been nominated for a total of six Grammys and four Emmys. Oswalt has shot eight TV specials and released seven critically acclaimed albums -- in 2009, Patton received his first Grammy nomination for his album My Weakness Is Strong.

  • Great Comedy, Bad Audience

by Anonymous on 1/25/11Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Patton and his opening act were both great. The jokes were hilarious and I laughed throughout the show. My only complaint was that there was one really drunk guy in the back of the audience who wouldn't stop shouting. I wish the ushers had asked him to quiet down or kicked him out of the show. He wasn't even laughing at jokes, he was just yelling at random times. It got so bad that even Patton called him out during the show.

Show was great, Patton was fantastic. I sort of wish I hadn't been sitting next to an extremely loud heckler who interrupted the show at least 3 times - he was never spoken to by anyone and continued to buy drinks throughout - couldn't we have cut him off?

  • Patton and company

by fbacton on 1/25/11Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Patton Oswalt at his his worst is better than most comics. He provided his unique and hilarious treatment of subjects ranging from deli counters to sweatpants. His recorded material is so I good that I almost didn't want to see him live out of a fear that I would be disappointed. But he came through with wit, energy and new material.

My husband and I have only seen Patton Oswalt on "King of Queens" and had no idea what he was like as a comedian. He was excellent!! High energy, witty, funny stuff, doesn't skip a beat! Our seats were pretty good too which made it that much more enjoyable!

Patton Oswalt first came on stage and said he was exhausted. He turned out to be absolutely hilarious, I was in pain from laughing so much. One of the funniest people I've ever seen.

Second time seeing Oswald at the Wilbur Theater. The Theater is a great venue, very nice place. Patton was really great again as well. Always thought he was a great character on "King of Queens" and have always enjoyed his brand of humor.

  • Patton Oswalt was scary and made me cry

by rikarubin on 1/24/11Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Patton was hysterical, but I was a bit afraid for his sanity. He seemed to go off on a few rants due to lack of sleep. (New baby and all) I forgive his craziness because he still managed to make me laugh hysterically and question my own sanity. I love his comic style and he always manages to make the most of a possibly awful situation. I will always go and see Patton no matter what. He is one of my favorite comedians and this performance only strengthened that resolve. Love you Patton!

  • Hilarious

Even sleep-deprived, the upliftingly negative Oswalt was hilarious as he discussed crack blowjobs in New York, screaming profanity at bad movies in Los Angeles and enjoying pot-filled brownies in Amsterdam.

Oswalt is amazing in his stream-of-conciousness routine. He mixes incredible intelligence and humor with real-life minutiae and improve to create an unforgettable performance. Don't miss it!

  • Patton killed with improv.

A great comedic performance by one of my favorite performers, his show was witty and fast paced. He manages to slip words into sentences that you aren't expecting and your brain has to play catch up just to figure out why you are laughing so damned hard. A hilarious bit on goblins as a spoof of religious beliefs had me crying.

This was my second Patton Oswalt show, and he is easily the funniest stand-up that I have seen in person. Really intelligent humor. You will not be disappointed.
