Patton Oswalt continues to leave his distinctive imprint across all areas of entertainment, from his award-winning comedy specials to his many guest roles on television. His most recent comedy special We All Scream (which also marked his directorial debut) launched on Netflix last September and Oswalt was recently nominated for a Grammy for his comedy album. Last year, he starred in the Magnolia Pictures comedy I Love My Dad, winner of the Grand Jury and Audience awards at the 2022 SXSW Film Festival.
Oswalt was nominated for a Critics Choice Award for his performance in Jason Reitman's film Young Adult, starring opposite Charlize Theron. In 2009, he also received critical acclaim for his performance in Robert Siegel's Big Fan; the film was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award and Oswalt earned a Gotham Award nomination for his performance.
Oswalt has appeared in many films, including The Circle, alongside Tom Hanks, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Zoolander, both directed by Ben Stiller, Steven Soderbergh's The Informant with Matt Damon, and alongside Seth Rogen in Jody Hill's Observe and Report, as well as Paul Thomas Anderson's Magnolia and Todd Phillips' Starsky and Hutch.
Oswalt's past television work includes memorable roles on Parks and Recreation, which brought him a TV Critics Choice Award, A.P. Bio, Veep, United States of Tara, Seinfeld (his TV acting debut), and many more. He is also very well known for playing 'Spence' on The King of Queens for nine seasons. Oswalt is also the narrator on ABC's hit comedy The Goldbergs. He provided the voice for 'Remy' the rat in Pixar's Oscar® winner Ratatouille, and his other voice credits include 'Max' in The Secret Life of Pets 2, Sorry To Bother You, the SYFY series Happy!, Rick and Morty, Archer, and BoJack Horseman.
In 2020, Oswalt's Emmy nominated Netflix special I Love Everything was widely applauded upon release, and he received a Grammy nomination for his comedy album of the same name. In 2017, he received Grammy and Emmy nominations for his album and Netflix special Annihilation, which addresses his own devastating loss and dealing with the unexplainable, while making it all painfully funny. In 2016, he won the Emmy for 'Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special' for his sixth comedy special Talking for Clapping and a Grammy Award in 2017 for his comedy album. He has been nominated for a total of six Grammys and four Emmys. Oswalt has shot eight TV specials and released seven critically acclaimed albums -- in 2009, Patton received his first Grammy nomination for his album My Weakness Is Strong.
Great show. Patton was hilarious. My group laughed the entire show. Just a great stage presence and I can not wait for him to come back
Patton indicated he wasn't feeling a 100%, but the show was exceptional from start to finish. Lots and lots of hard, out loud laughter. I have seen him 4 or 5 times and thought he was as good as I have ever seen him.
The show was a five, hands down! The reason I set it to a four because the venue would not handle the insanely drunk individuals that were ruining the show for the mildly drunk individuals.
Very funny. Interacted well with audience. Great show.
One of the best comedy shows I've ever been to. Patton was hilarious & really on his game. He even handled the super drunk fools in the crowd without missing a beat. Can't wait to see him again! Myq Kaplan the opening act was damn good too.
Absolutely hilarious- his opening comedian was fantastic as well
Brilliant, funny...a great night of laughter and thought! Hope he returns soon.
Patton Oswald was a horrible comedic show. Rarely received laughs. My favorite thing to do is to go to see comedians. Patton, was boring, slow, uninteresting, without wit or comedic timing, etc. I would never recommend his show.
even under the weather, patton gets his laughs off.
Patton was hilarious during the show. He controlled the crowd very well. He even went out into the audience at one point!! Afterwards there we're about 10 or 15 of us who waited outside the exit door of the theater for about 45 min, when he came out he was thrilled and shook hands and got pictures with EVERYONE. He is a very genuine and amazingly talented comic and I recommend him to any stand up fan!
Patton showed up looking like he just rolled out of bed, and lacked energy. His material was more mixed than older specials of his that I've watched. The worst part was how long he spent interacting with a drunk couple in front of us. He couldn't just ignore them and fell into the trap he does on Twitter where he gets angry and unable to let go, and goes into battle. His skewering of them wasn't even funny, and ended up coming off as cruel and tedious. After they finally got kicked out, the show was almost over and I felt cheated from the time he had wasted.
Hilarious and depressing, just as expected! I would highly recommend Patton Oswalt to anyone!
I love the Wilbur it's small enough that no matter the seat its a good one and we got right in and sat down. Patton had all new material and the opener was hilarious too. I would recommend it to anyone.
The title says it all. Patton Oswalt absolutely killed; he was hilarious. What's more is that he was on for about an hour and a half, it was a long set. When he tells a story the atmosphere isn't so much that of a performer in front of an audience so much as a friend telling a story over a beer. Highly, highly recommended to any and all comedy fans. Myq Kaplan, the opener, was good, but his performance can't help but be overshadowed by Oswalt's.
I typically enjoy Patton's work (and tweets), however I was somewhat skeptical of his skills as a stand up comedian. I was pleasantly surprised to find myself entertained and laughing the entire time. He was absolutely hilarious and the way he handled the belligerent couple in the front was beautiful. Would absolutely recommend seeing him.
Hilarious!! Even without the drunken trash in the front row, which he handled like a master, worth every penny even in the nosebleed section. Can't wait to go again!!
First- the opener, Mike (?) Kaplan was excellent. Patton Oswalt was simply hilarious. When he stated the only reason for going to Florida, My head was thrown back into the knees behind me from laughing so hard. There were times in the show that I had to catch my breath for laughing so hard! That doesn't happen very often. Definitely a great show from a very funny man!
Patton Oswalt did such an amazing job being his f*ing spectacular self!! Even with the worst of hecklers, he did proved that he was one of the greatest comedians ever!
Patton was Hilarious!! Such a fun night, I would recommend this event to anyone!!
If you like stand-up Patton Oswalt is at the top of his game. This was one of the best standup shows I've seen recently. I see a lot of shows; if i'm not working on my owm stand up I'm at the Wilbur watching some of the best comedians. Myq Kaplan opened for him and was amazing; then Patton came out and honestly there were times I was unable to catch my breath. it was non-stop in your face funny.
