About

Losing two founding members is enough to make most bands throw in the towel. Not the case for Tennessee-based emo rockers Paramore, who emerged from the setback stronger than ever with 2013's chart-topping Paramore, their fourth -- and most successful -- album to date. While the new lineup seems to be exploring new genres (synthpop, gospel), their legion of loyal fans will be happy to find that the hard-hitting, emotional sound the band is known for is still there – along with singer Hayley Williams’ iconic flame-colored hair. From the frenetic aggression of pop-punk lead single "Now" to the bubblegum hopefulness of "Still Into You," Paramore the LP encapsulates the best of the band’s work and proves that changes aren’t always a bad thing. Back on the road as a three-piece in 2013, there’s never been a better time to grab tickets to see Paramore in concert -- the intense charisma of frontwoman Hayley Williams has earned the band a reputation as a consummate live act.

When Paramore formed in 2004, none of the members were over the age of 18 -- a fact that sheds some light on their popularity among tweens and Twilight fans (two of the band’s songs feature prominently on the Twilight soundtrack). The band’s 2005 debut All We Know Is Falling earned them a spot on the Vans Warped Tour, as well as supporting slots with genre-mates Simple Plan. Bolstered by favorable reviews from British mags Kerrang! and NME, the band followed up in 2007 with platinum-certified Riot!, an album characterized by the bitter emotionalism of songs like “Misery Business” and “That’s What You Get.” After extensive touring in 2008 with fellow pop-punkers Jimmy Eat World and No Doubt, the band returned to the studio to record 2009’s Brand New Eyes, which, despite its debut at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, was their last release under the original lineup.

In the wake of their near-breakup, remaining members Hayley Williams, Jeremy Davis (bass), and Taylor Young (guitar) have found new freedom to experiment with the band’s sound, and given Williams’ stated influences (The Cure, Etta James), there’s a lot of territory to explore. Considering the No.1 debut of 2013’s Paramore and the glowing reviews for the bands stripped-down live setup, the new formula seems to be suiting them just fine.

Throughout their career, Paramore have drawn massive crowds of fans, packing venues like Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Tabernacle to capacity.

  • Best Paramore Show I've been to!!!!

by Noni1007 on 5/2/10Trump Taj Mahal - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

The show was amazing. The band was really into the crowd but every Paramore show I've been to they are always into the crowd. Only down side was the way the venue handled the crowd. If you had standing tickets you needed a wristband and there was only 1 person putting on the wristbands.

Paramore is incredible in concert. Ridiculously high energy, so much fun. Hayley's vocals are even more phenomenal in person than on a recording, and the guys are amazing too. Must see!

Paramore were amazing! I don't know if I'm using the right words to actually describe how great they did, they killed it! As always Hayley did a great job of engaging the crowd and getting them to sing and dance along to the songs. This is without a doubt, the best show I've been to all year. When Hayley stopped in the middle of "Turn It Off" to tell two girls to stop fighting. "Girls, why are you guys fighting at a Paramore show? Go fight outside where everyone's losing a lot of money.....She was mad, she was throwing them blows so hard!" That made my day :)

  • Paramore Rocked

  • Paramore was amazing, seats were NOT

by Jenn1fer214 on 5/1/10Trump Taj Mahal - Atlantic CityRating: 3 out of 5

The opening band - Fun - was terrible. Probably the worst performers I have ever seen. The lead singer was off key and annoying. The female singer was amazing however, she should be singing acoustic. Relient K was extremely good. Paramore was also AMAZING. Haley is very good at interacting with the audience. It was cool how she was actually paying attention to the audience and called out a girl who was fighting. She also sang happy birthday to someone in the audience and let a girl come up and sing on stage with her. My only complaint other than the opening band sucking was the seating. When I purchased my tickets it said "general admission, standing room only, no seats" But when I got there I was told I had to sit in the bleachers. This killed the excitement and made the concert much less exciting. I wish I could have been dancing and walking around instead of stuck in the bleachers.

Paramore was awesome! For being such a little thing, she's has a powerful voice. They were high energy and sounded incredible.

  • by DamageContrl on 5/1/10Trump Taj Mahal - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

Paramore was amazing! I'd seen them before at festival shows, but never this close! I was about 50 feet from the stage. They sounded great and had tons of energy, it's a great family friendly show. Don't think a single profanity was uttered and they were all about everyone having fun. Haley even pulled a girl up on stage to sing part of Misery Business and let her stay through the end of the song
