About

PAM TILLIS IN CONCERT:

Grammy-winning country singer-songwriter Pam Tillis is Nashville born and bred, and her heritage is on full display at her live shows. Tillis boasts an impressive pedigree – her father is famed country singer Mel Tillis, and her boot-stomping performances, exuding plenty of downhome pride and tradition, are the next best thing to a trip to Music City. Taking the stage with an acoustic guitar, Tillis wrings every last drop of emotion from finely crafted cuts like "Maybe It Was Memphis" and "Shake the Sugar Tree." Meanwhile her band whips up a high-energy mix of slide guitar, violin, bass, and drums that perfectly complements her relaxed vocals and unhurried delivery. It's a no-frills country party any time Pam Tillis performs, and ticket buyers are never disappointed by her arresting voice and feel-good stage presence.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Growing up the daughter of a country star, Pam Tillis was immersed in the Nashville music scene from the get-go. She made her singing debut at the Grand Ole Opry at age 8, and by her teens she was writing songs and playing the piano and guitar. She cut her teeth in the early '70s penning tunes for artists like Gloria Gaynor and Chaka Khan, and in 1981 she signed to Warner Bros. Records. Her 1983 debut album didn't make much of an impact, but she found chart success mid-decade with a string of non-album singles including "Those Memories of You" and "There Goes My Love." She signed to Arista Nashville in 1989, kicking off a successful period that included the Top 10 albums Put Yourself in My Place (1991) and Sweetheart's Dance (1994), the latter of which contained her first No. 1 single "Mi Vida Loca (My Crazy Life)." Since then she's remained prolific, touring extensively and impressing fans with albums like 2013's Dos Divas, a celebrated collection of duets recorded with Lorrie Morgan.

    Great vocals

by Meatandbuns on 10/6/15CHOCTAW CASINO RESORT - GRANT CHOCTAW EVENT CENTER - Grant

Pam as always, sings so good. Fun to listen to her. Musically, was a little disappointing. Had only 2 ladies as her band, both were good musicians and singers, but just fell short of what I was hoping for, from the music stand point. Sounded empty and lackluster.

I am not a big fan of "old Country" but I have always loved Pam Tillis's music. Her show was awesome! She was funny and kept the audience alert and entertained the entire time. Hated to see it end. Then after the show, she met with us and took pictures and autographed for us....very personable....would definitely go see her again!

Great show! Keyboard player, mandolin & fiddle player very talented as musicians and backup singers. They were a great surprise and added to the show. Pam Tillis still sounds incredible and made the show personal & fun with stories and memories.

Pam Tillis and Kermet Apio was great family event!

    by Cruzer58 on 5/20/14Carlson Center - Fairbanks

Acoustic Pam Tillis is the only way to see her! Her voice is as clear, pure and true as 20 years ago. Her fiddle players were fabulous and so talented in their own right. Would highly recommend seeing her whenever you can, I know I will.

Very good; they came on stage on time and stayed the entire time. Then they stayed late and signed autographs and pictures. Very classy to do this. Very sweet and humble.

    Tremendous Show!!

by mark2930 on 10/29/11Belterra Casino Resort and Spa - Florence

Lorrie and Pam are both wonderful performers who can fill a show with their individual hits. Being together just gives them more choices. They are on stage together, taking turns and singing together on medleys. The band and backup singers are tops. This show has no lows. If you want a quality show from country super stars, don't miss this. You can't get enough of this kind performance.

    Vocals Rule.

    by DisplacedRedneck on 5/27/11Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

I had assumed that Lorrie and Pam would perform separately, so was surprised that they sang together. Surprised but not far from disappointed. These two ladies really delivered. Their voices worked wonderfully together and with the other vocalist in the group. It was very refreshing to go to a concert that highlighted the vocals and kept the instruments in the background where they belong. There are just too many acts out there that hide mediocre voices by blaring away on the guitars and drums. That's not to say there weren't some excellent instrumental opportunities. In particular I enjoyed the strings, but then again I just love a good fiddle piece. All in all we had a wonderful night and would recommend it to any of our friends.

Two classy ladies singing some of their best hits, some of their new music, and some of the music they grew up to. Nice, small setting that allowed us to have a great evening!

Short concert - crowd only stood when concert over - not even when the performers took the stage. Pretty lame all together. Nice acoustics.

Really enjoyed the concert. My mom and I have been long time listeners of Lorrie Morgan and Pam Tillis, and I took her there for her birthday. Had a great time. Would love to see them again in the future.

    Well Worth Seeing These Two

    by beachpt on 5/23/11Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan appeared at the Snoqualmie Casino on May 21. They performed some of their own tunes, a couple of their dad's tunes, some favorites and even came up with a couple Beatles numbers as an encore! They were warm and engaging, and made the evening fun. Their group of back up musicians were exceptional - those harmonies were wonderful, and Pam and Lorrie stayed around to sign autographs. I wish that the concert had been longer, say about 8 hours or so. Oh well, one can dream.

    Real country at its best!!

    by ZZ1979 on 5/23/11Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

Pam Tillis is a class act and sounds amazing!!! She sounds as good or better than she did in her early career. She was classy and sweet the entire evening. Lorrie Morgan sounds great as well. She sounded better than even her current cd!! Her voice was strong and had that smoky quality that is vintage Lorrie Morgan. They were both on stage the entire time and sang back up for each other which was fun. It did seem more oriented towards Lorrie though. Pam really only got to sing a few of her big hits. I would almost have preferred it to be just Pam Tillis, she has so many amazing songs and her voice is pure gold!!! I will definitely see her again if I have the chance. My biggest complaint was in regard to the venue, it was at a casino and the smoke was disgusting. I will never return to the Snoqualmie Casino for another concert. The Snoqualmie Casino is the smokiest casino I have ever been in. By the end of the show I had a headache and I couldn't breathe through my nose. Also to get to the casino from the parking garage there are only 3 elevators which are always full. It literally took 30 minutes to get from the parking garage to the casino ballroom. Other than that two big thumbs up!!!!

    Great Concert!

    by Freemie on 5/23/11Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

I had no idea going into this concert that they would both be performing on the same stage. What a treat! They have quite a few hits but unfortunately couldn't get to a lot of them due to time constraints. What was performed was awesome and the two have a great presence onstage and you can tell they were really enjoying themselves.
