First time seeing the Nutcracker with my daughter, it was a beautiful ballet, Magical at times.
This show was AMAZING! Beautiful dancers from Pacific Festival Ballet and Tiler Peck from New York City Ballet. This is a show not to be missed. Cannot wait until their spring show Sleeping Beauty!
Visually stunning production, it gets better every year!
First time to a ballet for me and my husband, and we both really enjoyed it. The cast and costumes were fabulous, and the dancing sheer perfection. Really put us in the holiday spirit. Highly recommended.
From the music , sets , beautiful costumes and wonderful dancing this show was top notch. Too bad it was only one day as I would have loved to see it again. Really well done.
This was such an awesome Ballet. This use of such a variety (from very young to adult) of talent was amazing. I wish there had been more preformances so it could be shared with more people.
What an amazing production in every way. Everything from the choreography and score to the artistic interpretation was outstanding!
Our first visit to the Civic Arts Plaza, and well worth it. The venue is impressive, and the production was as well. A very enjoyable evening! We're looking forward to attending future events.
PFB filled the broad stage with troops of dancers young and not so young. Imaginative choreography brought in many elements we had never seen before, for instance, an outdoor street scene of arriving guests during the overture. Be aware that there is no orchestra, as is the case with most regional Nutcrackers. To compensate, the sound guys crank up the volume to deafening, most offensively during the Arabian dance, which is usually a quietly sensuous interlude among all the other more festive events. Bring earplugs.
This was a very professionally orchestrated show. Everything was flawlessly executed. Our family really enjoyed it.
The Nutcracker ballet - as performed by the Pacific Festival Ballet is fresh and alive. It's a family tradition for us to go each year and yet there is a slightly new presentation during the performance that makes it truly magical! Most of the cast are students - and they shine in their performances. The attention to detail, the beauty of snow falling, and the set-decoration all add to this special event. Make it a family tradition - it's a beautiful show!
I took my two girls. They loved it. The costumesecond were stunning.
The entire production was spectacular from sets, lights, music and of course the dancers performances were amazing! The best part was the joy expressed on the dancers faces, they all brought their A game. Bravo!
This was a beautiful production! The dancers were amazing.
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! this show was out of this world - we will be making this an annual event!
This show was a wonderful showcase for young dancers and a wonderful holiday tradition. The Russian dancers brought the crowd alive, and the NYC Ballet dancers were flawless.
I have been going to that show for years and have always enjoyed it but once Tiler ( and now her fiancé ) have taken the lead role, I am a groupie! They are magic... Individually and together. The rest of the cast is always wonderful and a neat treat for the holidays, but Tiler and her partner are unbelievable. They have raised the bar on the whole performance. Nothing stops me now from going every year and getting the best seats in the house. They just better keep performing! When I order my tickets early in the season, I'm not always privy to the cast at that time . I wish I was. I'd still go anyway but it's just something to look forward to. In any case, Job Well done to the whole cast!
So beautiful! The audience was swept into another wold. An outstanding production !
I didn't know in advance this was not a professional group. The dancers were out of synch and their posture was off. It was kind of a cold production, their was no poignancy to the great story. I didn't stay for the professional dancers at the final scene so maybe that was great, I don't know.
Although the male dancers were a very strong presence this year, the female dancers weren't as formidable as usual. We always enjoy the Russian dancers and they were exceptional this year - it seemed the lead dancer was one we had seen before. Although the Asian Clara was a very good ballerina, it was a little strange to see a Clara with dark hair instead of the blond who has always been portrayed. There were quite a few good scenes and as usual, the snow falling down on the audience was great. We usually go every year as we like this ballet company. We did enjoy the Sugar Plum Fairy and her partner - he was exceptional.
