About

Payable on Death, otherwise known as P.O.D. has recently emerged from a brief hiatus with the much-anticipated release of a deluxe edition of hit album "Murdered Love." Included among the many remixed tracks are bonus singles such as "Burn It Down" and "Find A Way." The band does not plan to go on tour in the immediate future, as its members see maintaining their current levels of mental health as a major priority over selling tickets. However, should any of their hard-rocking, head-banging future concerts occur, the focus would likely be on a return to P.O.D.'s roots as a Christian nu-metal band.
P.O.D. has a long history as a force for shaking up the often complacent world of Christian music. The group first formed in the early 90s, when Wuv Bernardo and Marcos Curiel came together for frequent jam sessions. These original members were quickly joined by the equally talented Gabe Portillo and Sonny Sandoval. Given Sandoval's transition to Christianity in the aftermath of his mother's death, it came as little surprise when the band - previously dedicated to Metallica covers - began playing songs that were clearly religious in nature. Their early Christian rock successes include such hit albums as "Snuff The Punk" and "Brown" in the mid 90s, which were later followed by "The Fundamental Elements of Southtown" and "Satellite." More recently, the band released "Murdered Love," a hit album that reached No. 17 on the Billboard 200 in 2012. "A Murdered Love" tour has yet to take place, but, based on the recent release of "Murdered Love Deluxe," it could be a definite possibility in the near future.

    P.O.D. was ON!

by JT on 5/13/24Buckhead Theatre - Atlanta

Absolutely fantastic show. I've seen tons of shows over the years, and this was second time seeing P.O.D. live. This show for the "I Got That Tour"was easily one of the best shows that I've seen. Band was tight, energy was high, band and audience both had a great time. Ready to do that again, now. Can't wait to see them again live.

    AMAZING SHOW!

by Tj on 5/13/24Buckhead Theatre - Atlanta

Seeing POD has been on my bucket since last years SNW fest that I wasn’t able to attend. These guys are so nice and friendly and also very hilarious! They made us feel like family. I got VIP so the only complaints is that the Meet and Greet felt rushed and I want a chance to talk with POD but they left so fast for soundcheck. Maybe make the Meet n Greet portion start earlier? Other than that, I have no complaints! Highly recommend seeing POD if you haven’t already!

    Still Strong!

by BigJerTokyo on 5/13/24Buckhead Theatre - Atlanta

I first saw POD in a small venue in Tokyo, Club Quatro! I was hooked… a great mix of hard rock and rap, perhaps a more charged band and style of Linken Park? They were still as tight as ever in Atlanta and some of their new work is as strong as their earlier work. Great rapport with the audience, The venue at Buckhead Theater was also a perfect fit for a group like POD…

    Good show

by Mytmutt on 5/8/24TempleLive Wichita - Wichita

Overall the show was good, in my opinion the venue amplifies the drums so much that at times it can be difficult to hear the actual vocals unless its a lighter musical part which sucks. Blind Channel's first two songs were awesome, the latter due to sound quality were more difficult to hear them. Narma Jean was interesting but again with sound quality and vocal presentation it was just noise. Bad Wolves was amazing, still suffered from sound quality but I loved it. POD - They had some additional sound issues with some equipment and at the beginning I think it was noticeably frustrating to the band throughout. Overall there set was good, the last four or so were fantastic and the singer seemed to be much more engaged with the audience near the end which would have been great to start that earlier in the show. Regardless, loved going, love the event space because it has a ton of character, I just wish they could work on better sound mixing.

    Never Disappoints

by Sparky on 5/8/24TempleLive Wichita - Wichita

This is my 4th time seeing POD. They never disappoint. They love their fans and it shows. Sonny’s heart of love and worship for his creator shins through in his lyrics, stage presence, and what he says.
