I've been following Ozo since the beginning - 30 years ago. This show was super fun, full of energy, and lots of love from the crowd too. These guys always bring it 100%, and that's despite the sweltering heat since I don't think the venue even had A/C in an Austin club in August!
The show itself, as always, was amazing. Ozo never disappoints with their high energy and their flawless ability to engage with the crowd. I did give the show 4 stars because of the venue, it was WAY too small for this caliber of a band so it was super packed! Dont know if the venue is used to such a big crowd because the AC could not keep up. It was outrageously hot (and got a little funky towards the end, ha!) it was def a sweat fest! but, that didnt keep the crowd from dancing and fully enjoying the show so it was worth the heat!
Well the band totally delivered a fantastic set of music, even though it was a thousand degrees in Antones. When the band is mentioning how hot it is, you know its hot. A couple of people were all but carried out of the place. Ozmatli played like they always do and delivered a good show. Many of the hits, some new stuff, and some interludes and intros that were a good change. I am going to say they also included some stage choreography but were on a bigger stage this time. The place was packed packed packed. When I got there I was in the back row at the door, when I left the crowd went out to the street. Lots of fun except for the heat. I will go see Ozmatli again, but will NOT ever be going back to Antones again. I have been to Antones when it was on Guadalupe, then east downtown Austin, now downtown Austin, and with the lack of fresh air, I will not be returning. Shout out to the Westin, where we stayed, which is literally directly across the street. Don't Mess With The Dragon!
This is only the third time I’ve gotten to see OZOMATLI because they don’t come to the Midwest very often. So when I heard that they were coming to the Ludlow garage, tickets were bought immediately. And anything on my calendar was put on hold. I’m actually a metal head and a rock guy, but Ozomatli are my guilty pleasure because as a drummer, their Latin grooves are just awesome. I love everything about them. Their music is feel good music, their stage show is always moving and grooving. You won’t see any statues on stage for this one. Expect to be entertained. If you’ve never heard Ozomatli or never seen them live, do yourself a favor and get familiar. First four albums are the best in my opinion.
Ozomatli is a great group and the show was super entertaining. They put on a great show and those guys were super friendly after. I would go to see them again in a second. I really love Daglio as the opener. A great Cincinnati Latin rock band.
Not often , a band comes along whose performance evokes multiple emotions, like a fine art piece (e.g. painting, sculpture, etc.). Even more rare are such performances that find a place in iur consciousness that is memorable & shareable. Ozomatli has been that band for me, even though I've only experienced their live shows twice. Both times, their abilities to connect, & engage with their audience at a profound level, made me feel as though i was part of their imprint. I was surprised that they didn't sell out their last venue. Word of mouth is part of their marketing. But, in my opinion, the people behind the marketing strings were inept at promoting them to the live music bazaar that Atlanta GA offers. More people need to experience Ozomatli's live performances. They are truly edifying, embracing, & palpable sonic transcendent compositions worthy of promulgation.
These guys are amazing! The show was so fun and high energy - and the artistry! *chef's kiss* We brought my 19 year old son and while he joined us just trying to be a good sport and do something with his mom and dad before heading to college, he left an Ozomatli superfan! Just great. No notes.
Ozomatli never disappoints. Full of energy and entertainment, they know how to get the crowd going. My only compliant would be the price of tickets that might've hinder attendance. Venue felt empty. I personally don't mind the price, but I feel that if it was lower it might've attracted more people. A friend of mine who didn't know Ozomatli was on the fence of going because of the price. At the end he decided not to go, which makes me wonder if turn out would've been better if ticket prices were cheaper.
Great band and performance in Napa. The band as always were on fire. Enjoyed their last drumming song
