We loved Over the rhine. It was the perfect night... Kim Taylor sang backup. She rocked. the drummer ( I forget his name) was phenomenal!!!!! He blew us away. And of course Karen brought down the house. I would absolutely go again and recommend them to all of our friends. Over the Rhine is worth seeing in concert whenever they're in town !!!!!!!
I have seen this group at least six different times and I'm always impressed by the quality of their shows. You never leave one of their concerts wondering who played the musical instruments on their CD's because they leave no doubt that they did it themselves. Their sound crew always provides an excellent balance and never allows any one member of the band to overpower the others. It's never too hard to hear or to loud for the venue. They truely appreciate their fans. They play long and I have seen them mingle with the crowd after some shows. I've seen plenty of bigger-name bands that I had to see because I love their music, but was highly disappointed by their inability to play their own music and have no desire to see them play live again. Over the Rhine however, will see me at their shows every chance I get.
I am a fan after tonight - they were fantastic- incredibly talented.
I've seen Over The Rhine perform over a dozen times, and they never cease to amaze me. Coupling their talent with the amazing scenery of Cain Park was ingenious.
The band is great, the songwriting is thoughful, and the sweet and sultry vocals Karin brings to the stage are comparable to few - she is in a class by herself. If you think you are the least bit interested in seeing this band buyt the tickets now- I gaurantee it will be an evening you will never forget.
the venue was perfect, the drummer amazing, karen's vocals as strong and beautiful as ever..... an evening to remember! the band dynamic....nice range of dynamics.. down to a whisper and then kickin'.... great!
Tremendous musicianship. Memorable songs. Tight band. And one of my ten favorite female vocalists. Grade: A
They are down-to-earth, humble, incredible musicians. It's about their music and their hearts.
What a talented group of musicians, always with some surprises for their listeners! They stay true to the original recordings, for the most part, which I think most fans appreciate. However , the predictability is not a bore! They really appear to enjoy performing, and seeing a satisfied audience.
Over the Rhine is a phenomenal group! The concert at The Ark was one of the best shows I've ever seen. I'm from Pittsburgh but drove to Ann Arbor for the show. The venue was great, I wish we had a place like this in Pittsburgh
