Ottawa Senators History

The original Ottawa Senators were founded in 1883 and were one of the founding teams of the NHL during its early years, winning 11 Stanley Cup Championships between 1903 and 1927. When the NHL started to expand to the U.S., the Senators were sold to St. Louis and became the Eagles, but the team shuttered after one year. The second incarnation of the Senators joined the NHL in 1992. The Senators have since gone on to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs 16 times.

  • Obstructed view from section 109 row g.

by Steve m on 11/19/19Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 3 out of 5

When looking up the ice the glass from the corner to the bench was distorted, had to watch the home end on the overhead.a couple rows higher, or a section over (108) may have been better

  • Senators Vs Leafs exhibition

by Sudsy on 9/21/19Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 1 out of 5

Not too pleased with overall event. It started poorly when I had to pay $25 to park. Then is was $30 for 2 beers, then another $40 for 2 pull pork sandwiches (which were terrible) Exhibition game, so not too many starters were playing. Will not go back

  • Go SENS Go

by JayMDavid on 10/7/18Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 4 out of 5

I live two hours away. Make the trip to a game about 10 times a year. I just hang out for about 15-20 mins inside after the game and the traffic is bearable by then

  • First every ice hockey game

by kwww on 10/4/18Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 4 out of 5

As a visitor to Canada I really enjoyed my first ever ice hockey game and would definitely recommend it. Very interesting to see the difference between attending a sporting event in Canada as opposed to back home in UK.

  • Great Vibe

by JeremyDP on 2/27/18Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 5 out of 5

Canadian Tire Centre is a great venue. Fans are great, sang the anthem, and the cheering. Seats were easy to find. Ushers were friendly. Food was good. I recommend a hotdog with peppers. So good. Fries were good too. Average number of beer choices.

  • Go Sens Go!

    by Nic898 on 1/10/18Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 4 out of 5

I’m from Ottawa but I live in Los Angeles now, so I’ve really missed seeing the Sens play. Seeing them live in action and seeing a winning game really was a highlight of my visit back home.

  • by Jojo92 on 11/7/17Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 5 out of 5

Great time, good venue and great service from the fan deck

  • Disappointing!

by trythisname on 11/2/17Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 4 out of 5

Senators looked like peewees! Great game if you want to see lots of goals, but the quality of hockey was awful. There were several judgement calls by the referees which were poor judgement..

  • good time

by dumoulip on 11/2/17Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 4 out of 5

habs/sens games in ottawa are cool because fans of each are about 50/50, so everybody's always cheering. If you pre-pay parking, look to use Lot 6 as it's an easy exit after the game and you're on the highway in no time. Also, tickets to a habs game are easier to get for ottawa than they are in Montreal.

  • Obstructed seat, poorly located arena

    by ho9li5 on 10/24/17Canadian Tire Centre - KanataRating: 1 out of 5

I Was extremely disappointed to find that my view of one goal was severely obstructed by a TV camera.I think that there should have been some notice that I was buying a seat with an unobstructed view. I was unable to see the action around one goalmouth, which was a major problem.I was able to find another vacant seat nearby which also had an obstructed view, but less so. The arena is located in an area far from Ottawa. Transportation to and from, and parking were difficult. Overall, not worth the hassle. I would never go to another game in the Canadian Tire Centre.
