  • Amazing as always!

This was our third year attending this concert. This concert is always so enjoyable! The students selected are so talented and put in the time and effort to present a beautiful experience! The directors are so dedicated to their students and their success, and bring out the best in them! The venue provides a wonderful setting and the music selections are amazing! The OPUS committee does a wonderful job of pulling it all together! Very nicely done!

The performance was outstanding from beginning to end. I look forward to attending next year's Opus Honor Choir.

  • Concert was wonderful, ticket acquisition not...

So proud of all the kids who make it into Opus and the concert is amazing, but quite honestly the ticketing process is AWFUL, the worst I've ever seen. SO many people get turned away because there aren't enough tickets available and they sell out in seconds. Would love to see the concert separated by each group to allow those people who don't want to stay for the whole thing (MANY get up and leave!) to leave and those who want to see their Opus member sing come in for just that performance. Honestly, I enjoy all of the music but would opt for just seeing the part that my loved one is in to enable other kids relatives to see their own kids in their groups. The venue would also sell a lot more tickets if they rearranged it per group. Just a suggestion. I feel sorry for those who didn't get to go, what a heartbreaker! (I was only able to get two tickets out of the four I needed and we couldn't even sit together.)

Singing was good. In between shows entertainment as quite good. Only real negative is the lenght of the introduction of the committee members at the beginning. It appears to be more ego soothing than helpful to the audience. I think they could greaty shortened..

  • OPUS didn't disappoint!

This is the first year that our granddaughter auditioned and was selected for the 5-6 grade choir. We learned of this wonderful event only through her participation and we were blown away by the wonderful sounds of all four of the choirs. It was amazing how much depth and color these young voices brought to each of their chosen numbers. It was a five-star event for us and we hope for her continued participation. Available tickets are scarce and we ended up on the next to last row in the third balcony even though we applied at the stroke of 10 on the release date. We could hear everything perfectly, but were not close enough to see much detail. It would be great if the concert could be presented twice, so that concert goers could actually SEE the performance.

The choirs are always awesome! I have but one constructive comment. The groups should recognize the multiple year OPUS selectees. Every year but this one, the multi year s have been acknowledged during the concert. This year the concert moved quickly and there wasn't any recognition of the multi year selectees. My fifth year OPUS selectee, although quite honored to participate, wanted to have that mentioned at the concert as there are only 8 this year! thanks for the wonderful fab five interludes as the choirs change out on stage. The fab five are truly a great part of the concert.
