Third time to see this show. Great show will go next year
The band was great. I am a big Queen fan and I have to say the songs were done very well. "Freddy" was perfect and fit the bill for sure! They kept to rather high energy songs and the performance was more than worth it. My only complaint is not with the band at all...in fact, the band, the performance, the entire show included the audience..."Freddy" actually talked to us and encouraged lots of standing and participation...but the audience was lacking. I know it was an "older" crowd.....but if you are young enough to come to a concert, get up and participate, get excited....get into it. I was worried the first 30 minutes that I was blocking the people's view behind me, as they refused to stand up....they finally got the idea and reluctantly joined. I think maybe a smaller venue, where the audience HAS to participate and get excited might work better. The BAND WAS AMAZING...NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!!
One of the best concerts that I have seen in a long time. Gary and the band were A++. If they come to Dallas again I will be front and center.
Most of us didn't get a chance to see Queen perform live. Well, this is the next best thing. The crowd was really into it; the lights and sound were great, and all the big hits were played. These are first class musicians and not some cheesy cover band. Gary had Freddy Mercury down pat. Great time.
The lead singer had an incredible voice, but just looked a bit odd in the leotard outfit. Let's just say he's no Freddie Mercury, but who is? The musicians behind him were absolutely phenomenal and worth listening to, but they played several songs which were Queen recordings such as in Bohemian Rhapsody I supposed because those sections of songs were not doable in their range and ability to harmonize as the lead singer did all the singing. It was entertaining, but not sure it was worth the $60+ a ticket paid for it. He never changed outfits, just kept coming out with less and less on, a bit creepy. All in all, I had a good time, but would not go again if I saw them on the concert line-up.
Given that I am too young to have truly appreciated Queen in its hayday, and the fact that even Brian May from Queen heralds this group as "so refined in their show, that I lose track that its not us up there playing", that One Night of Queen is incredible. I have seen them twice now and this show I was able to recruit twice as many friends to go. Everyone was up and dancing, clapping and singing along. A definite trip back in time to see a great performance by some very talented musicians.
Amazing concert. IT was like being an actual Qeen concert
Great Entertainer - really nailed Freddie Mercury and the Band was spot on. I've seen them 3 times now and will continue to go every time they come through town.
This was a fantastic show. Freddy Mercury would be proud to see his legacy live on. The music is ageless.
I never got the chance to see Queen live when Freddie was alive. I feel that I was very close to that experience at this show. The band is brilliant and Gary is as close to Freddie Mercury, vocally, as you can get! A MUST SEE SHOW for any Queen / Classic Rock fan! Amazing! TEN STARS!
I saw them a year ago in Rockford, Illinois. It was nothing short of amazing! The world greatly misses Freddie and this is as close as anyone can come to sounding like him! Rock on Gary!
I've always regreted not seeing Queen in person; so if this is the closest way to experience it; then I'm all for it. No need to sit on the floor seats, my seat was 1st-Row Mezzanine Seat 116 Row AA and it was perfect in everything. You could see and experience it all. I'm there the next time they come to town
This was as close to Freddie Mercury and Queen as you can get! It was fantastic! I loved every minute! Gary Mullen has Freddie's stage moves down perfectly. And his voice was fantastic. This is as close to seeing Freddie and Queen as you'll ever get unless you watch Queen's old recorded performances. The audience ranged from very young to very old and everyone was dancing in their seats.
I have seen a few Queen cover bands and this one is by far the BEST! Gary Mullen can really reach a broad range of notes all most as well as Freddie did. What a fantastic surprise. His profile is uncannily like Freddie, too.
Gary Mullen was terrific fronting an overly-capable band behind him. If you closed your eyes you would not know you were not actually listening to the late, great Freddie Mercury. The house was rockin' with all their hits. Kudos to the Riverside Fox Theater, Gary Mullen & The Works. Outstanding!
Excellent show! I highly recommend it. Gary Mullen was amazing - the tones from the guitar were near perfect.
One of the BEST shows ever! Loved it! I thought I was seeing Freddy Mercury. Gary Mullen was FANTASTIC!
Very entertaining. High energy. "Freddie" was excellent. Guitarist was fabulous. Piano player was foxy. Only downside was sound system. Words seemed muffled.
The show was fantastic and a must see for any fan of classic rock.
