About Ohio State Buckeyes at Ohio Stadium
Columbus, Ohio, is home to one of the most legendary college football programs of all time, whose success is still going strong after 130 years. The Ohio State Buckeyes play out of Ohio Stadium, which opened in 1922 and currently seats 102,780. They are coached by Ryan Day, who, in his first year leading Ohio State in 2019, oversaw a 13-1 season and a College Football Playoff berth.
History of Ohio State Buckeyes Football
The Ohio State University first fielded a football team in 1890, and the team became a charter member of the Ohio Athletic Conference in 1902 before joining the Big Ten in 1912. The Buckeyes won their first national championship in 1942 under coach Paul Brown, and they've won seven more, most recently in 2014 under Urban Meyer. Six players have won seven Heisman Trophies for the Buckeyes, including Les Horvath in 1944, Vic Janowicz in 1950, Howard "Hopalong" Cassady in 1955, Eddie George in 1995, Troy Smith in 2006, and the only two-time recipient, Archie Griffin, in 1974 and 1975. Ohio State has won 40 conference titles, including three while with the OAC, as well as eight divisional titles. The Buckeyes have also won eight Rose Bowl games, most recently after the 2018 season against Washington.
While Ohio State has long-running rivalries against Illinois and Penn State, their rivalry against Michigan is one of the most heated feuds in all of sports, dating back to 1897. The Ohio/Michigan rivalry has always been intense, but it rose to another level between 1969 and 1978, as Michigan coach Bo Schembechler and Ohio State coach Woody Hayes engaged in "The Ten Year War" as both teams competed for Big Ten and national championships. In 2019, the Buckeyes went 12-0 behind the play of defensive end Chase Young, cornerback Jeff Okudah, and quarterback Justin Fields, before defeating Wisconsin 34-21 in the Big Ten Championship Game, and losing 29-23 to Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl as part of the College Football Playoff semifinals.
Just outstanding and so much fun for so little cost. Go Bucks!!!!!

If you haven't attended a spring game than your missing out on just a lot of fun. And you can cheer for both sides.
Was a wonderful time for my kids and I. We seen our first Lacrosse game. Which turned out to be rather entertaining. Of course there's the horse shoe and the atmosphere that goes with her! cant think of a better time for 20 DOLLARS!
For the 4th year in a row I have taken my now 7 yr old twin (boy & girl) little Buckeyes to the OSU Spring Football Game. This annual event is a great way for them to learn about a Great Football Program, a Great University and see one of the greatest stadiums in all of sports and hear THE BEST DAMN BAND IN THE LAND!! Now that we live in that that "State up North" it is even more important that we share with our children all of the Great Traditions at The Ohio State University early and often. GO Bucks!!!
Everyone knows how much the Ohio State Buckeyes mean to the residents of Columbus, Ohio. Passing on the tradition is within the reach of almost every central Ohio family. The Spring Game at the Shoe provides young children with the thrill of watching the Buckeyes and the marching band in an unbeatable atmosphere. At just $5.00 per ticket, if the little ones grow tired of sitting, leaving the game is an option that would not be as easy to take during the short regular season. My children loved the game and have already asked me to guarantee that we will return for years to come.
First time at Ohio Stadium-AWESOME!! Wonderful day, wonderful crowd and great game. Rain did not dampen spirits of anyone, either. So much for 70% chance of rain all day Saturday. Had incredible seats to boot!! Will try to go every year!!
First and foremost anything that Ohio State does is Amazing, but this was on a whole new scale. I have been to many a Spring Game in Ohio Stadium; but to be part of the tribute to the Spielman family was an honor. Ohio State proved once in for all that it is the classiest program in America with the Scarlet Gray and Pink Game. We raised over 6.5 Million dollars for breast cancer research in one afternoon, as well as enjoyed an afternoon watching The Best Damn Band In The Land!!! Oh, and did I mention there was also a football game? GO BUCKEYES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am not a great football fan & I purchased these tickets to take my grandsons. They were excited until they found out it was an inter squad game. They were bored so we left at halftime. But when my husband explained to me about the different string players vying for a place on the team I found it exciting and I wanted to stay and watch. Of course the boys won out and we left. Next time it will just be my husband & myself.
The game was boring, but it was good to see so much support for a good cause.
PERFECT opportunity to take kids to an OSU game, without breaking the bank. All the atmosphere of a regular season game!
Great time at game except for some atmosphere missing with it being a glorified practice but GO BUCKS!!!!
This was our first time to attend and we loved it. We enjoyed watching the Lacrosse game as well. It was great getting to see the players and to get excited about the new season. We are pumped and ready to go. Job well done. We had great seats where we could see the players up close and that made it a lot of fun.
It's ALWAYS good to see a buckeye game, and it's nice that the price of tickets for it were so cheap!
We had a great time at the Spring Game. It was nice to take our kids so they could enjoy the experience of the stadium without the high price of tickets for a season game.
Great game and affordable tickets. Love going every year!
This event was amazing! My first time inside Ohio stadium and it was AWESOME!!! I'm a HUGE buckeye fan, but it is difficult to get tickets. So this was my chance! The stadium is INCREDIBLE, a MUST see!!!!! Oh yea, the Buckeyes are pretty damn good too!!!!! Go Buckeyes!!!!!!!!!!
This was my first time to the Buckeyes Spring Game---it was totally awesome!! We got there early enough to get fantastic seats and took some great pictures! I would highly recommend this event to everyone who can't afford the regular games---best $5.00 you'll ever spend!!
I printed my tickets of line and it was so easy i would tell everybody to do this .
